Liming

A few seconds before the men in black arrived, two wisps of souls hovered over the body of the man laying down on the stream bank.

The man is already dead.

Souls are usually attached to their deceased body for a few days to a few weeks. And this is no exception for this man, but the odd thing is that there is an extra soul beside it.

Moments later, one of the souls slowly rose and dissipated and the other slowly entered the body on the ground.

"Hmn, not bad for a person living in the low planes." the man slowly clenched his fists. He looked above and murmured, "I'll be taking over your body, fulfill your regrets and take your revenge, so you can rest in peace."

This kind of scenario wasn't foreign to He Junyan. Ever since he was taken as a disciple of Elder Lou Min, he trained under his strict guidance.

He was taught how to rip space and jump dimensions, as well as take over physical bodies of recently deceased people.

But there were two strict rules his master gave that he has to follow when arriving at a certain dimension and when taking over a body. That is to avoid being a catalyst of great change of that dimension and to fulfill the wish of the soul he is going to replace.

Therefore, He Junyan had to be careful on which body to takeover. If he is unable to fulfill the wish, he will also be unable to leave that body when he wishes to.

The original owner of this body is called Wen Jun. He is the country of Yan's prodigious young general. He was on his way back to the capital from conquering two cities in the west when his group was ambushed and he got separated from his subordinates.

Normally, He Junyan wouldn't choose to takeover a person like this. A country's general is a huge figure with great influence and power. However, the low planes are on the same dimension as the high planes where He Junyan was originally from so even if he ends up destroying the entire low planes, it wouldn't violate his master's rules.

On the other hand, he could have also used his own body but he didn't want to. He was avoiding going back to the high planes because he didn't want to deal with those old geezers.

He thought that he has already wasted years hunting down demon fires on different dimensions and he has grown tired of it.

So that was also one of the reasons why he stayed on Earth for a while. Along with the strong interest he had in this one person with dual souls which he had never heard or seen before.

The first time He Junyan met Liming was two years ago. After hunting down more than twenty demon fires on different dimensions, he ended up on Earth.

As usual, he took over a deceased body and this person was conveniently attending the same college and class as the target person with a demon fire, Liming. But when He Junyan finally met her in person, he has detected another soul residing inside her.

Out of curiousity, he wanted to observe her so he put off his mission on the side and next thing he knew, he has already spent two years in this dimension. They finished college and of course, he also made to apply to the same company, so they became workers of the same firm.

However, a few months in, He Junyan was surprised to find out that Liming had taken her own life.

When he visited her funeral, he was more surprised to not find a single soul attached to the corpse.

This was when he finally decided to leave Earth and when he performed the soul tracking art he learnt from his master, he was shocked to find that Liming, her extra soul and the demon fire were all still attached and had jumped to his home dimension.

Without further ado, he prepared his body's death in the most normal way and also jumped dimension.

Since the time he found out where they went, he has been thinking how were they able to do this. It's impossible for Liming (and her extra soul or even the demon fire) to have known of the secret art that he and his master is practicing.

It is one of a kind and he, He Junyan, as the current generation, cannot hand it down to another until his master passes away.

After getting accustomed to his new body, He Junyan also made sure to hide or lock away his cultivation and soul aura. This is to prevent other high priests from finding out that he is back in this dimension.

Once he was done, he felt intense pain. This is due to the wounds Wen Jun had received. He g.r.o.a.n.e.d and then he fell to his knees.

Then there was a rustle on the other side of the stream, and finally there she was, running with a grim face.
