Chapter 24 - Cassandra

Tears trickled down her face as she faced the cloudy sky. It was obvious it was about to rain, but she didn't care. She continued to cry as the rain dampened her clothes and hair. "Cassandra! What are you doing here in the rain?" Asked an approaching figure who then held an umbrella above her.

"Brodie, what are you doing here?" Asked Cassandra.

"I was passing by when I saw you here out in the rain".

"Why would you even bother helping me?"

"You're my classmate, I can't just leave you here like this. Plus you're wearing the school uniform. We don't want people thinking bad of the school... Unless you're doing it on purpose... Cassandra you betrayer", said Brodie while acting dramatically.

She chuckled, and Brodie smiled while saying, "you look better when you're smiling. You should smile more, it makes you even more beautiful".

"Brodie did anyone ever tell you that you can easily obliviously charm someone?" Said Cassandra.

"But I'm not doing it obliviously".

"You-".

"Ahaha. Come with me. I'll drop you off at your house".

"Driving illegally?"

"Of course no. My aunt is driving".

"The school principal!" Shouted Cassandra as she straightened her back.

"No need to be nervous. Come on, everything will be alright", smiled Brodie as he held out his hand to her.

Cassandra looked up at him with sparkling eyes, and Brodie couldn't help but feel himself blushing a little bit. "Um. Were you crying because you are no longer in the top ten?" Asked Brodie.

"... Yeah... I can never be as smart as you Mr First Place", replied Cassandra bitterly.

"That's because I have been trained since young. With more studying I am sure you will get back in next year... If you want I could help you", said Brodie while he turned his head away.

"Are you sure? Won't I be a bother?"

"You will never be a bother. Stay by my side as long as you want. I don't mind".

"What about when you get a girlfriend?" Giggled Cassandra.

"We'll see about that", smiled Brodie as he thought of some intricate plans.

...

"Cassandra, Cassandra, Cassandra..." Muttered Brodie as his face was laid on a table.

"Mr Hobson, Mr Hobson, MR HOBSON!" Shouted Lisa and Albert as they tried to wake up their drunk teacher who had fallen asleep.

The dinner they had attended finished, and while they were heading out they spotted Mr Hobson who was an absolute mess. His clothes were messy, his hair looked like as if it just got out of bed, he was clutching onto a wine bottle and his face was incredibly red. Albert and Lisa told Stella and her family that they would handle this and quickly brought Mr Hobson into a private room.

Albert phoned the school principal who got rid of any photos which were taken. Afterwards she got Albert to... Warn the guests in the restaurant to not say anything or else. Good thing the restaurant has very few tables since it is for only elites who do not want to get on the bad sides of the Hobsons and the Prezlins.

"Cassandra... Is that his ex? Did he just have a break up or something", sighed Albert as he looked at his pitiful form teacher.

"Who knows. The thing we know though is that he is an absolute mess right now", replied Lisa.

"What should we do? He's not waking up at all".

"I guess the only choice we have is to get some people to drag him out into a car with tinted windows".

"I never thought something like this would happen to Mr Hobson".

"Same. Maybe he was scheming again and got caught".

"I highly doubt that".

"M-Mr Hobson?!" Said a new person.

"Who's there?" Asked Albert.

"I-it's me... B-Brittany Nelson", said Brittany timidly.

"Tsk. It's you", growled Albert.

Lisa plastered on a fake smile and asked, "how come you are here Brittany?"

"Um well Philip wanted me to pick up something", replied Brittany.

"Tsk to think he would send you though. Someone like you isn't worthy of stepping into this restaurant. You're not part of a good family and is ranked second to last on the business leader board", said Albert.

"Now now Albert. We shouldn't discriminate against others", smiled Lisa.

"I don't get why you're sticking up for her. You're smart and your family has great talent", replied Albert.

"We should not let that blind us though", smiled Lisa.

"She's right. I thought I had warned you of this Albert. Discriminating is a no can do", said Mr Hobson as he slowly started to regain his senses.

"Says they guy who was just drunk stupid", growled Albert.

"Um, a-are you alright Mr Hobson?" Asked Brittany.

"I'm fine", answered Mr Hobson who started to fix his clothes up.

"Lisa could you help me call a taxi?" Asked Mr Hobson.

"Sure. I think Brittany should accompany you home though just in case something happens", suggested Lisa.

"Okay then let's go Brittany", said Mr Hobson in a tired tone. He wasn't in the right state of mind to think properly.

"But-".

"I can bring Philip's thing to him. For now wait here while I call a taxi", said Lisa.

"Lisa..." Said Albert in a warning tone.

"What's wrong?" Smiled Lisa.

"Oh... It's nothing".

Albert couldn't help but clench his fists in frustration. He knew Lisa was hiding more secrets besides being the reason for her father's success. Albert couldn't tell what her secrets were though. Everything she does seems so genuine yet different to how she truly acts when with friends. Philip and Edward had warned him not to mess with Lisa too much and that becoming friends with her would do him a lot of good. He was able to find an amazing company which is slowly on the rise because of her. For now he would just use her, and find out her secrets later.

Albert left and waited at the reception desk as Lisa smiled and called for a taxi. Sure pairing a teacher with a student is forbidden, but it's not like they're going to end up together. In the end the male lead is Philip but Lisa can't make it too easy for him.

[AN: Don't date you teachers, just don't do it]

The taxi soon arrived, and Brittany and Mr Hobson left. Lisa got the thing Philip wanted delivered to his house which was some dessrts.

Albert accompanied Lisa as his driver drove them to Philip's residence.

"Well I heard from Albert. Why don't you two come in and have some tea since you're here", smiled Philip.

"Ah well-".

"Sure", said Albert while interrupting Lisa. 'One thing I know for sure is that you don't like Philip. Probably because you found out he is sadist so this is my revenge', thought Albert.

"Philip, who is at the door?" Asked Philip's mother, Amelia Lockwood.

"Albert and Lisa Tael", replied Philip.

Lisa immediately recognised Amelia. She had the same aura as Isabella, and was dressed beautifully but it was nothing compared to her beauty. 'Damn! No wonder that annoying Philip is so good looking! A pity that her son is so chaotic', thought Lisa.

"Good evening Mrs Lockwood. Sorry for intruding at this time. My name is Lisa Tael. I am a classmate of Philip's", smiled Lisa.

"So are you in a special class too?" Asked Amelia even though she already knew the answer. Ever since Lisa turned three Christine had forbidden Amelia from meeting Lisa, but now she can.

"Yes. I am ranked 9th on the intellect leader board".

"Wow such a smart girl!"

'Dammit why is Christine so lucky. I want to have another child but my husband says we don't have enough time for another one while Juliet got two sons instead of a boy and a girl. Now she can no longer have children since she foolishly drank an enemy's drink and got poisoned. While with Isabella her daughter is a problem child. Christine is the only lucky one!'

"Mrs Lockwood, is everything alright?" Asked an incredibly confused Albert.

"Ah yes", answered Amelia.

She couldn't be like Juliet or Isabella. She had to be careful otherwise more suspicion would appear. It was bad enough her son had already found out. "I wish to talk more with Lisa. Philip doesn't bring girls here a lot himself except for this one unpleasant girl", sighed Amelia.

"Mother. Please do not talk about Brittany like that", said Philip.

"Philip she is right. You shouldn't be so close to a girl like her. How do you know she is not using you", warned Albert.

"Do you think of me as a fool. No one can use me so easily. And if someone were to it would definitely not be Brittany", growled Philip.

"Come one everybody let's calm down", said Lisa.

"Honestly it would be better if my idiotic son would pay more attention to a girl like you", said Amelia to Lisa.

"Mother, you can't force anything onto Lisa otherwise they'll get mad", warned Philip.

"I know I know", sighed Amelia.

Albert and Lisa showed a confused expression. One thing Lisa knew for sure though is that Philip's mother really cares for social class which is perfect for the story's plot.

The four of them sat in the lounge, and Albert and Lisa talked about the happenings with Mr Hobson at the restaurant.

"That boy will not get over her will he", sighed Amelia.

"Is Cassandra a past lover?" Asked Lisa.

"Indeed. She is quite pitiful really. I can not talk much of it though as I promised to keep it a secret from others", replied Amelia.

"Well is that so. Could you at least give us a little information Mrs Lockwood?" Asked Albert.

"Let's just say that Cassandra attended Wellington Rosalyn College with Brodie and was his first and only lover", answered Mrs Lockwood.

"Anyway let's not dwell on that and just have some snacks", said Philip since the depressing atmosphere was suffocating him.

"Lisa dear how is it going with your studies?" Asked Mrs Lockwood.

"Good. I am taking extra lessons so I can get first place though", replied Lisa.

"Philip you better watch your back", teased Albert.

"I'd like to see you try", smiled Philip.

"In that case I'll give it my all", smiled Lisa.

They continued to talk when the butler suddenly came and told them that Edward had arrived.

Edward entered the room while wearing a beautiful suit which reminded Lisa of the night sky. Lisa could feel a little blush on her cheeks as she looked at Edward with stary eyes. Amelia looked at Lisa's expression and sighed. Juliet is going to be the one with Lisa as a daughter in law instead of Amelia.

"How was the party?" Asked Philip to Edward who sat next to Lisa. "Absolutely dreadful. Claire and her family was there. They were an absolute pain. Then there were the other girls who kept in getting in the way of me trying to enjoy the party. While I was there I had also found out who the spy in Luxit IT was as she was leaking our new phone designs to our competitor. We called the police and the party ended early. Now we have to redo the designs of the new phones since others have already seen them. Our competitor was really stupid though to ask for the designs at a party my family was attending", said Edward.

"Well at least in the end you were able to get rid of a spy along with push your competitor down", smiled Lisa.

"It would've been nice if there was a warning though", sighed Edward. "Now there is even more work to do. New designs, pressing charges, setting back some dates, redoing work.... You know what I am just going to use the excuse of my new book to avoid all of that".

"What is the point of giving you lessons then when you're going to avoid work", muttered Lisa.

Mrs Lockwood left them alone and they continued to talk until 9 pm. "I'll drop you off Lisa at your place", offered Edward.

"Thank you then", smiled Lisa.

On the car ride to Lisa's apartment, Edward said, "so we're starting those lessons tomorrow".

"Yep", replied Lisa.

"How was the dinner with Stella's family?"

"Good. They were really nice and Albert discussed a few things with them".

"Great".

"..."

"..."

The atmosphere was awkward as the two did not know what to say. For some reason Lisa felt nervous so she started to fidget with her hair. Edward noticed and said, "you hair is quite long. It's very beautiful".

"Thank you".

"Can I touch it?"

"W-what?! I-I mean s-sure".

Edward chuckled and touched her hair, then said, "it's very soft and nice".

"T-thank you".

He then brought it to his lips, causing Lisa to have a bit of a heart attack.

"E-Edward?!" Said Lisa in shock.

"Lisa..."

Edward's head slowly fell onto Lisa's shoulder as he closed his eyes. "Edward are you okay?" Asked Lisa to then realise he was sleeping.

"Sorry about that Lisa. Edward is just very tired with writing his book while also helping his family's company", said Zack.

"In that case maybe he should just occasionally help his family's company from time to time. In the end his fans will probably be happier that he is focusing more on his books. It would also give Edward less work and stress", said Lisa while she saw there was makeup covering Edward's eye bags.

"What about those lessons then? If he stops helping out his family there is no need for him to have those lessons".

"I don't mind ditching the contract. What is more important is what is best for both of us. I don't desperately need those lessons".

"I still need those lessons though... I don't mind the extra work", said Edward in a lazy tone as he hugged Lisa while resting his head on her.

"E-Edward?!" Shouted Lisa.

"Don't worry Lisa. He is just very tired, let him sleep", smiled Zack while knowing he was going to be getting a bonus soon.

"W-what if someone sees us?" Asked Lisa.

"It'll be alright. Just leave him to be".

Lisa looked at Edward and smiled. This feeling was... Kind of nice for her. Once they had reached the apartment complex, Lisa and Edward let go of each other.

Little did they know that someone had took pictures and posted them online.

-With Emma Wilton-

When Emma saw the pictures she immediately fell into a fury. "Who does that Lisa think she is! Edward is mine and mine alone!" Shouted Emma while she threw a tantrum.

Emma was home alone so there was no one to tell her off or comfort her so Emma continued her tantrum while thinking of ways to ruin Lisa.
