Lost In A Universal Sandbox.

Chapter 3 - LIAUS 1 Getting Started.

The darkness suddenly turned into a bright light that engulfed his consciousness before fading into a hazy white. Slowly Impars eyes opened, the pain he had received from the beating had all but gone away. He pushed himself up feeling a cool breeze blowing through his hair and skin a beautiful blue sky with clouds as if it were a perfect spring day.

Lush grass that seemed to be at a perfect height with flowers of all sorts of colors one could even make out cows, sheep, chickens, pig's dotting here and there as they ate away at this ripe green grass.

Trees of all sorts of breeds littering around in all directions this was indeed an untouched paradise, Impar felt as if he could taste some sweetness he wouldn't know until later that it was because there was not one bit of pollution contaminating the air he breathed.

Someone would think they had died and gone to heaven yet Impars mind, of course, was full of questions and confusion he pinched himself several times and even slapped his cheeks. "what....the....f.u.c.k...." he hadn't any more words to say for a minute or two as he just sat quietly to ponder carefully.

"-Could God exist? Was my dream something coming into reality? that weird aurora light and that rain....that pearl of nirvana thing I held.-"

Impar was looking carefully before a blue-tinted somewhat transparent screen with white glowing words appeared in front of him.

:24 Hours 57 Minutes 32 Seconds Remaining Until Protection Ends:

: Starter Kit Acquired Please Open It:

"Starter kit? how do I open it?" The moment he finished speaking a Shabby wooden box no more massive, then a shoe box appeared after a puff of smoke it was shaking somewhat. Impar was convinced by the suddenness of everything he was still cautious, but as he was piecing things together, he knew his life couldn't be any shitter than it currently was.

Reaching his right hand over, he lightly tapped the box before it began to shake before it suddenly opened out to which it showed what he could receive.

: Old Wooden Box Loot Rates:

Worn Items: 90%

Common Items: 5%

Uncommon Items:4%

Superior Items: 1%

: Tap Again to Recieve your items:

Impar could see there were quite a few more levels of rarity, but the words were constantly changing, looking at them seemed to hurt his head as if he wasn't powerful enough to even comprehend them which made him feel disappointed as curiosity was part of human nature.

"Whatever free stuff is still good" He uttered before he tapped it again, the box suddenly closed before spinning quickly and stopping to face him before opening again, items began to pour out and hover in front of him.

: Foragers Basket - Worn Acquired :

: Basic Foraging Handbook - Common Acquired:

: Moldy Bread - Worn Acquired:

: Spring Water - Common Acquired:

: Deity Obelisk Compass - Superior Acquired:

Impar was stunned he clenched his teeth in fascination and laughed to himself which seemed to be a habit when he didn't know what else to do.

He had read novels where the main character in some MMORPG would always strike it rich somehow, but this was different it wasn't an MMORPG but real life or at least he thought.

As the items suddenly floated into his body and vanished a small inventory icon appeared in his vision as if he was wearing some individual contacts for augmented reality. He had an idea as to what it was. He glanced up at the sky and took a deep breath before he stretched and went over to a nearby tree before sitting against it.

Facing the icon which resembled a bag, it seemed it sensed his intention and opened to reveal a perfect 3d image of his body as well as his clothes he currently wore all of which were the rarity of worn, contrary to many things it seemed durability did exist in this place. The durability for all his stuff was at 20/100 except for his newly acquired items of course.

Glancing to the side to see his inventory he noticed he couldn't access anything from the real world here except the items he earnt here which seemed reasonable after all if someone brought a gun well the rest is obvious.

He decided to try something and willed the basic foraging handbook into being. It did, in fact, work as it appeared in his hands. He glanced at it for a moment before opening it. The words inside seemed alive somewhat before scuttled letters inside the book no matter which page he turned to formed a sentence.

: Tap to learn Contents:

He did as it asked and taped it once. Suddenly a bright white light shot from the book and into his forehead, he felt his mind gain knowledge that transitioned smoothly as if someone massaged his head and as if he had earned a couple of years experience.

The book seemingly disintegrated into nothingness as if it could only be used once which disappointed him, but atleast he attained descriptions and knowledge regarding a fair ammount of the basic flora for this place.

Plains Berry, Grass Fruit, Milky Ginseng, Snow Apple, Sun Alexandria, Turtle Mint. He spoke the names of several different sounding fruits and herbs consecutively that didn't seem to exist in the real world along which each had several essential characteristics as to what they could do.

For instance, the Milky Ginseng's description was as follows

: Milky Ginseng - Uncommon:

Locations: Plains, Forests.

Description: Milky Ginseng takes a week to grow and can be used in Potions as well an ingredient for Food. It can also be used in (...) as a Catalyst Agent or Ingredient. It grows at a depth of one foot and can be spotted by those with at least a little knowledge in foraging. If eaten Raw one will experience a burning sensation in their stomach which will allow them to establish their (.....)

Impar also noticed the image of the Milky ginseng as if to help him identify it if he came across it, it looked like regular ginseng but seemed to be a rich, creamy color once cleaned, but it was the most basics of explanations.

"Hmm" he looked thoughtful before suddenly looking up at the tree he was sitting under, he noticed green sparkles coming from red fingernail-sized fruits dangling off it.

As he glanced at them not soon after did a picture of what he stared at appear. It showed the small reddish fruit and its description in his mind.

: Cherry-berry - Common:

Locations: Plains, Forests.

Description: A Cherry Berry will Grow daily after being picked for as long as the tree remains. Can be used as an ingredient for food an ingredient in potions. It can also be used in many other things. Restores 10% of the hunger bar per Cherry Berry.

Impar seemed quite amazed, he soon looked at his stats, hovering over the hunger bar it had a small description apparently when it hit 0% he would lose health until death and as long as it reached 100% it would somehow provide the host with all the nutrients the body needed meaning he would never lack calcium, iron or vitamins or anything necessary to keep the body healthy.

As long as that hunger bar was full it also said that if it were below 90%, he wouldn't regenerate health naturally it also told him stamina was related to hunger each second he ran decreased the hunger bar by 0.3%, and if it fell below 80%, he wouldn't be able to run.

It also told him that the more actions that required a lot of movement he did the more it would go down, which meant there was at least a fundamental way of living within this so-called realm or world, whatever it was he was at. He then glanced at his main stats.

: Impar Liaus:

Health: 10/10

Hunger: 99%

Title: First Batch (Grants: luck +3)

Strength: One Star

Luck: 6

Agility: One Star

Intelligence: Not Bright

Wisdom: Not A Sage Either.

Trait: Pitiful Existence.

Impar looked at his stats page and was impressed until he got to the lower half the last three caterogries shocked him especially the last that he willed to appear in front of him.

: Pitiful Existance:

Description: You are Unlucky, Very Unlucky..... That is on your world, while here Destiny has taken pity on you and granted you +3 Luck.

"beggars can't be choosers" he smiled bitterly more luck wasn't a bad thing if he was right it must obviously be an important stat at the very least he would need quite a bit of it for some good things to happen he had a feeling the Diety Obelisk Compass he received wasn't as easy to get as it seemed, he was confident his luck played a role in getting him it.

Suddenly willing the compass in his hand, he looked at it. It didn't look like anything fancy it was merely a rounded stone with a hollow center inside. It pointed in a single direction with a red needle, and when he moved, the red needle stuck in that direction the compass wasn't a compass in the sense of normality as it didn't even tell him which way was north.

He decided to explore a bit but not before climbing the tree a little and picking some cherry berry's, contrary to his thoughts he didn't receive any notification for experience or some title earnt after picking them which was disappointing, but it didn't seem like he would be given handouts so easy.

Climbing back down he threw one of those cherry berries into his mouth and chewed. He felt amazed because the flavor was incredible, it was the best fruit he had ever eaten in his life. He quickly devoured five more as the burst of sweet and sour taste flowed into his mouth the fruit didn't even have a pit in the middle the flavor lingered as well. It was then that a notification popped up.

"Status Well Fed gained:

Hunger will not decrease for 5 Minutes.

Strength Has increased to Two Stars for 5 Minutes.

Agility Has increased to Two Stars 5 Minutes.

Following this Impar noticed several icons transparently appear at the top while a timer was counting down beside them. " I can run for 5 minutes straight without losing my breath?" He was stunned and excited to give this theory a go.
