Lost In A Universal Sandbox.

Chapter 4 - LIAUS 2 Progressing!.

By now Impar had spent 3 Minutes simply dashing as fast as he could around the plains area. He felt no decrease in his speed and could breathe regularly without issue it was as if he were an athlete who had taken some drug.

The feeling of being able to keep this speed was incredible of course he didn't linger on this for too long because he knew this world had so much more to offer and he wanted to discover everything he could. He assumed that he wouldn't be the only one here based on the title: First Batch:

"I shouldn't waste anymore time" He pulled out the compass he received from the c.h.e.s.t earlier as well as the foraging basket which seemed to have no particular information other than infinite durability he looked at the fauna such as the cows and chickens and an idea appeared in his mind yet he didn't have the heart to walk up to one and hurt them at least not until he confirmed something.

He began to follow the direction of the compass while taking in the sights from large hills to lush lakes with large fish looming in them. He even noticed a pack of wolves sleeping in the distance near a cave; he didn't dare go near them of course even with the protection.

Along the way, he managed to pick up several herbs that seemed littered along the way from their description alone he knew they would be quite useful.

: Green Herb - Worn:

Locations: Plains, Forests.

Description: The Most basic of Herbs Can be used in Potions as well as Cooking. Eating it raw restores one health per 10 seconds for 1 minute, Effect stacks for 60 minutes Increases Hunger bar by 1%.

"Well, these are quite useful these weren't meant to be eaten for food but rather to heal. When I pinched myself, I did feel pain didn't lose health, but that pain didn't hurt at least not as much as it would in real life. Interesting" This world followed a different set of laws he now knew.

Eventually, as he travelled without seeing another person, he noticed many more odd sights from magical wisps flying about in the dozens as well as bizarre pixie-like humanoid creatures.

He even reached a cliffside where he spotted a small village of what seemed to be goblins if video games were anything to go by, goblins equalled trouble, if he got close, he didn't want to risk issues. He didn't think this place was all milk and honey there had to be danger, and if he died here, he wouldn't know how things would turn out.

After exploring for 10 minutes, he found what he was after. The obelisk was covered in moss and spanned 5 meters in height with a meter in width. It seemed ancient as it was covered with overgrowth and had almost totemic and jet black with etchings which looked rune-like.

He carefully approached while looking at his surroundings. Thankfully it seemed like everything was still peaceful no doubt the plains of hope was one of the safest areas he could be the protection didn't make him feel at ease, not one bit.

Stepping closer to the obelisk he placed his hand upon it only to see a notification which made him jump slightly he hadn't gotten used to it just yet.

: Deity Obelisk Found would you like to set as Dimension Entry point?:

The answer was somewhat obvious he quickly taped yes and right as he did he felt a pull that made his mind quiver slightly. He noticed a glowing blue aura seep out of him and into the obelisk, causing the runes that were etched onto it to light up the same colour as the aura that left his body, no doubt it was part of the process.

: Entry Point Set, Obelisk Features Unlocked:

: Tribute Quest level one:

Objective: Offer 10 Cherry Berrys as Tribute to the Gods of the Wild, 0/10

Reward: Old Wooden box, Blessing of the Wild Gods.

Impar looked quite excited because he had more than enough of the berries to give, without hesitation he pulled out 10 to which an option to tribute them appeared, after taping yes another strange scene occurred, a white shield of light engulfed the offering and the fruits hovered before shooting towards the obelisk and vanishing into nothingness.

He received several notifications for this easy task.

: Quest Complete The God's Are Pleased:

: Blessing of the Wild Gods Acquired, Strength +2 Stars Agility +2 Stars Gain 1 Health Per 10 seconds. Lasts 48 Hours:

Impar was pleased the blessing of the wild gods lived up to its name he felt much stronger then ever he didn't think he would have a problem taking on Fend and his two goons if they ever came again the duration would help him a lot once the protection left after all he needed to look out for himself first.

Though it didn't stop there, more notifications followed.

: You are the first to Tribute to the gods & Complete a quest:

Impar was slightly overwhelmed with surprise that turned to excitement. It seemed that out of God knew how many people, he was the first to accomplish something great. His first title was right, in the real world he was pitiful, but there was an all different story in this strange land. A wide grin appeared on his face before it asked him to speak a name.

"Luckless..." he spoke the word that was soon registered by the notification.

Meanwhile, across the Plains of Hope, many other people were also in a similar situation glancing around and exploring. Two people had managed to find each other and were currently speaking about what was happening, one wearing sports attire the other seemed like a middle-aged businessman.

In another spot, a young girl was sitting in a field of flowers enjoying her time in this strange land while near a lake an elderly looking man with a shrub-like white beard was strangely glancing at some glowing fish in a stream with a thoughtful expression.

One could say everyone was adapting in their own way to this odd world, but it was then that suddenly a notification appeared in their minds causing them to feel surprised with some awe as if they were in a video game.

"Luckless of Earth has completed the first quest within this Dimension & has been granted an extra reward, Strive hard humanity this chance for greatness is not given to all humans if you are left behind it will be quite disappointing. As the first quest has been completed, you are all now able to transfer back and forth between this world and Earth by willing it."

The name Luckless was now marked in the minds of everyone that was sent here to this strange world but of course no one really knew what it meant or what the purpose of being here was though many who were afraid willed themselfs out, there wasn't one person here who didn't think the outside world wouldn't be shocked by the events here who knew what would occur.

Meanwhile, Impar willed his stats to open.

"Seems about right as the well-fed effect has run out and the blessing shows as well" he uttered as he glanced at the blessing of the god's icon that represented a buff which was beside the protection duration he had first acquired.

"That notification, thankfully I picked a different name it would be troublesome if people did some digging on me, more so now that we can travel back to the real world" He was sweating bullets as he narrowly avoided a disaster by choosing a different name.

Grinning to himself he willed the New Wooden Box to appear before it showed a new table of loot rates as he taped it once.

: New Wooden Box Loot Rates:

Worn Items: 50%

Common Items: 20%

Uncommon Items:20%

"Here we go!" He rubbed his hands together before tapping it again.

It almost seemed like a slot machine as a sound that played to increase excitement could be heard for a few seconds, the box made the same motion as the first he had opened before it stopped in front of him and began spewing out what seemed to be 3 items in unison but not before a notification popped up that made him feel more excitement.

: Your Luck has activated and affected the results:

: Leather Adventurer's Set Acquired - Worn."

: Fledgeling Mage Handbook Acquired - Superior:

: Basic Ticket - Question To God Acquired - Rare:

The Leather Set, as well as the mage handbook, was useful to him as for the last item it made him scratch his head, the best item would be the first one worth looking at in this case the one marked as Rare. He looked at carefully since he wanted to know what it did. Wiling it into the open, it looked like a magical, parchment of sheepskin with glowing white runes on it that seemed to wriggle as if they were alive.
