Love Will Lead You Back

Ji An woke up and saw Nathan sitting on the couch on his phone. She stared at him for some minutes trying to remember something from her past, but there was nothing, completely empty. Nathan felt someone is staring at him and when he looked up, he saw Jane gazing at him intently. He gave her a smile before he stood up. As he got near her, the door open and his father came in.

He walked to his father instead and met him halfway, "Dad, you're here early. She just woke up." And gave Ji An a glance.

Mr Smith tapped Nathan's shoulder, "You are doing well my son." He then smiled at him, looked at Ji An and walked where she's at leaving Nathan looking where he is heading, "I'm glad that I'm finally meeting you."

She smiled at Mr Smith sweetly wanting to give a good impression to him, "I'm glad to see my boyfriend's father, but I can't remember anything." she looked at Nathan without letting go of her sweet smile, "I cannot even remember him, my name and to whatever happened to me."

Mr Smith widened his smile at her to make the situation less awkward since it's their first meeting, he doesn't want her to feel down and sad, "It's alright, I'm sure you will remember all of your memory soon." He spoke as he walked to her. "Has he been treating you well?"

Nathan followed his dad and walked to her side, "Of course dad! She's my girlfriend, I have to treat her really good or else she will leave me." He grabbed an orange and peeled it. "She used to threaten me like that." His smile showed as if he was genuinely in love with her.

"I really said those words to you?" Ji An frowned, "I'm so sorry if I treated you badly. I guess I will have to make up for my bad behaviour towards you. You will have to tell me everything about us. Help me remember how much I love you." She gave him a sweet smile despite feeling so bad.

"Have you seen your sister?" Mr Smith paused, he remembered what Nathan said, she just woke up. He doesn't want to look and sound like an idiot to the first girl he introduced to him. "Hmm, Of course, you haven't since you just woke up." He looked at Nathan, "Where is Laura? She should be here with her sister." Letting out an odd cough, "Your mother wants to meet her too. I will stop your mother for now since she is still unwell." He looked at Ji An and tapped her hands, "I'm hoping for your fast recovery so we can have a little gathering and our family can finally meet you." Mr Smith smiled and nodded assuring her that everything is fine and she just has to be better. 

Ji An felt happy and welcomed. Mr Smith was very warm towards her and she felt happy. However, Nathan is unsure about his father's motives, he finds it weird that he is getting too involved with her.

"Don't worry about anything else, just focus on getting better. I hope your memories will soon come back to you. I'm going now. Son, watch her and both of you must visit us soon. We'll discuss your proposal." He smiled at Nathan satisfied with his visit.

Nathan walked his father to the door and told him that he cannot walk him any further since his girlfriend is awake. He waited at the door until his dad disappeared from his sight before he shut the door, "My father likes you, I can tell." Then he walked back to Ji An and murmured, "Jane," he smiled and added, "Such a pretty name."

"Nathan, how did I used to address you? Can you tell me more about us? I might remember something." She asked eagerly.

"Hmm… Well," he licked his lower lip and bit it, "First of, you insisted on calling me babe but I settled with anything except babe and baby. You still complained about it but you ended up agreeing with it." He laughed while looking at her smiling face.

"You really love me. I'm happy that even without my memories, I still have you." She pulled him and hugged him.

Nathan wasn't prepared for that. No woman hugged him like that before, she is the first one. Well, except for his mum and Laura, but it's different, Laura is his friend. This woman is a stranger but somehow he is okay with it.

They spent the whole day talking, him feeding her false information about her, about them. Well, the one he made up. She now knows that Laura is her half-sister, the name of their parents, her full name and how old she is. He also let her know how long they have been together and how they met, obviously all the information he gave her are all made up.

Later on that day, he left Ji An and told her that he has some important matters to attend to. Laura didn't come by to visit her. Well, she doesn't really have a reason to. Now that she, an unknown person suddenly became her sister and the girlfriend of Nathan Smith, the man she loved secretly all her life, how can she show affection towards Ji An?

Being alone in her hospital room, Ji An felt bored and turned the TV on just browsing channels, she stopped at the news being broadcasted. In the news, there's a lot of issues about politics and random stuff. She left it on and went to use the toilet. While she was in there, the news about the businessman, Eric Lewis and his ex-wife Gu Ji An came on. Gu Cheng Ze was giving his statement about what happened, it was then cut short. The next news was about Conrad Smith and his sons, at that moment Ji An came out of the toilet and saw that news, she smiled when Nathan's face flashed on the screen. "That's my boyfriend alright!" a proud smile was all over her face.
