Love Will Lead You Back

Ji An sighed, "No. Daddy Cheng Ze has a girlfriend. You must stop calling him daddy because his girlfriend will not like it." She tried to explain it to little Sofia hoping that she will take it all in.

"So I don't have a daddy at all?" her face went all sad, disappointed and she was about to cry. Tears were forming in her eyes.

Ji An tried to comfort her, but it made Sofia cry even more. Her tears were flowing like a waterfall racing down her cheeks without making a sound of a wailing baby. "Can I ask daddy Cheng Ze if it's okay to call him daddy? Please, mummy please." She pleaded her mother as tears ran down her face.

"Aren't you a big girl now. Having no daddy is not a bad thing. Because I'm here for you." Ji An wiped the tears from her daughter's face and held her arms.

"Mummy you don't understand. All my friends back in England have daddies. I want a daddy too. I want a daddy who will carry me and play with me. I want a daddy who can tell me stories." her tears just continued to flow even more, "I know you can do that but daddy is different. Please, mummy, I want daddy Cheng Ze to play with me." She pleaded more to Ji An as she tried to explain why she wanted a daddy.

She doesn't know what to do with her daughter. Looking so pitiful right now, "Okay, how about, we go and see daddy Eric? Will it make you feel better?"

She wiped her tears and nodded in agreement, "Are we going now? I'll go and get change first so I will look pretty for daddy." Sofia left and one of the servants helped her get changed.

Ji An was waiting for Sofia downstairs when Madam Gu approached her.

"Where are you going, Ji An?" Meiling asked her daughter seeing she was dressed up.

"I'm taking Sofia to Eric. She misses him."

"Can I go with you? I want to meet him. After all, he is your ex-husband, I should at least know him."

"Mother, how can you be so calm? You saw the whole situation earlier and yet you look and talk so calm." She suddenly blurted out.

It took her mother by surprise, she didn't expect her daughter to open that subject right now, "Because the medicine I gave you is called love drug! I more or less expected the scene. I just didn't expect that you will agree with what he wanted."

"You what? Why did you do that for? What is he doing now? Is he going to be okay?" Her concerned voice really echoed the living room and she was worried for him.

"He'll be fine, sweetheart. Didn't he drug you before? I just want him to know what and how it feels like. He shouldn't have done that to you." she justified what she did to her daughter.

"Are you sure he's gonna be fine?"

"Do you want to give him what he needs right now? I'll call his fiancee and invite her over if you want to help him. Or should we just leave him having a cold shower for a bit?" Of course, she didn't really mean about calling Lori, she was just testing her own daughter to see her reaction.

The idea of his fiancee and him, she can't picture it out, or shall we say, doesn't want to imagine, "I guess he should stay in the cold shower for a bit."

Sofia came down looking so cute and pretty, "Let's go and see daddy." she bounced happily in the stairs as she was excited to meet Eric.

"Can nana come with you?"

Sofia smiled, "Of course Nana. I'm sure daddy will be happy to see and meet you."

The three of them head to Madam Gu's car. Sofia sat in between them at the back seat. The driver drove off headed to wangfujing.

Inside the car, Ji An called Eric and told him know that they are on their way there. She then hung up after that to keep the call short.

They arrive at the hotel where Eric was. He was waiting in the lobby for them. He invited them to have some tea as it was late in the afternoon.

"Eric, she's my mother, Gu Meiling." she introduced her to him. "Mother, he is my ex-husband, Eric."

Eric held Madam Gu's hand and kiss it like a gentleman. "I'm pleased to meet you, mother in law."

"Mother in law? She said you are her ex-husband?" she was way too straight forward.

Eric didn't expect that at all. He was trying to make a good impression for her but it didn't turned out well.

Sofia was just next to him hugging him. She's letting the a.d.u.l.t talk first as she doesn't dare to interrupt them. Just being next to her daddy, she's happy and pacified with that.

"Madam Gu, I know this happened a long time ago but I still want to ask. Why didn't you attend our wedding?" he just asked to satisfy his curiosity.

Madam Gu doesn't know how to reply and she's thinking about how to answer him. She now knew that Cheng Ze took her that night, and she doesn't want her daughter to be in trouble. She sips her tea to buy some time.

"Eric! I already told you that I spent that night with her. She couldn't come because she's busy and she left early in the morning. That's why she called me to meet her in the hotel." she sounded a bit irritated and a little panicky.
