Love Will Lead You Back

Eric looked at her and doubt started to form in his head, "Are you angry? I just want to know her side. Is it wrong?"

"I'm sorry for not informing both of you that night. I was really rushing so I summoned her to see me. It was wrong of me to take her away from you on your special night." Meiling just made out a story to satisfy his curiosity and not to put her daughter in a difficult situation.

Ji An looked at her, 'Is she saving my face right now? How can she create a lie like that? She's definitely my mum. She doesn't even have a clue what's going on.' She couldn't believe how her mother lied like that in front of her. But thanks to her this subject is now closed.

"Is that so... May I talk to Ji An alone? Can you watch Sofia for us?" He politely asked Madam Gu.

"Sure! Take her away." smiling at him.

He stood up and he waited for Ji An, "I won't make it long. I just need some time alone with you. Can we talk upstairs?" he said when Ji An didn't make a move.

"Okay..." she then looked at her mother, "I'm not gonna be long." Smiled at Sofia, "Behave yourself sweetheart, don't make nana upset okay." she patted Sofia's head gently and stroke her hair before leaving with Eric.

They didn't talk inside the lift as there were few people inside but as soon as they reached the very top floor he started to talk to her.

"About this morning— What you saw— It's—" he doesn't know where or how to start explaining.

Ji An was not bothered by it at all, but she still listened to him and replied, "You mean the woman in your room? She looks familiar though. I've seen her before. So how was it?" She teased, "I'm happy for you that you found a woman." And smiled at him.

"The thing is— She's not my woman. It was a mistake. I didn't mean to sleep with her. We were drunk and she jumped on me." He combed his hair in frustration.

Ji An was a bit puzzled by him. "You don't really have to explain. Whatever you do is your business, it doesn't involve me. It's not a big deal, really."

"But I want to explain myself to you. You are my wi—"

"Woah—" she put her hands up, "Please, Eric, you have to stop this nonsense. Stop telling people that I'm your wife! Because I'm not! We are over 3 years ago. Actually, we were over since I found out about your lies. You can sleep with 10 million women and I don't give a damn. Please, Eric, save yourself some trouble. Don't include me in your life." She has to settle it with him once and for all so will stop his delusion over her. It may have sounded mean but that's the truth and the truth hurts. But he has to accept it. It's over between them.

"Did you love me? Ji An, did you love me even for a second?" he sounded pitiful and desperate.

Ji An was taken aback by his question. It took her awhile to reply to him. She looked at him, "Honestly, I... There is only one man that I love, and he's not you. I married you thinking you're Sofia's father. I tried to love you, I honestly tried, but I can't give you my heart."

"You know, I never wish for anything in my life except to have you, for you to love me. I thought... if I will become that person who abused you, I will get a chance to have you. How wrong can I be? Because even if I give you the world, it's not gonna be enough for you. Because I'm not the guy you love?" His eyes reddened, "I've never been a part of your life, not even for a second." he slumped onto the floor. The pain in his heart is too much to bear.

"I think you should take Sofia home. I can't face her like this." he stood up, "Why can't I be him Ji An? What does he have that I don't?" he was really in a mess and his voice sounded aggressive.

"Eric, must you do this? Can we stop now?"

"Who is he?" He stood up and walked towards her, "I want to know his name!" he's now feeling angry. He cannot handle her complete rejection towards him.

"You don't have to know. And you don't have any right to demand anything from me! I don't have to tell you anything! I'm already mad about how you're addressing me. Wife? Move on Eric! I'm no longer your wife!" Ji An screamed at him furiously.

He has never seen Ji An that angry. It was his first time seeing her like that. He never expected all those words came out from her mouth. He still doesn't want to give her up and want to fight for her further instead. If he has to use Sofia to win her back, so be it. If he has to use force on her, he is prepared do it.
