Loving With My Mind

Chapter 11 - Honeymoon

They both became embarrassed in an instant.

Then, Zhao Mingzhe bolted from his seat, leaving his wife, who was leaning onto him, almost hitting the sofa with her face. She was about to nag him again when she was faced with food.

"I just remembered that I bought these." He took the box of egg tarts, opened it and presented the baked goods to her.

"Hey, it's Andrew's!" she exclaimed and swiftly took one tart to bite. She looked like she was up in the clouds. She almost squealed like a teenage girl.

Zhao Mingzhe was actually a bit nervous on offering pastries to a pastry chef. Most would arrogantly get insulted. However, for some reason, he believes that the woman he married may be childish at times, but not that petty.

Also, from what he gathered, she loves eating as much as cooking good food. So he figured that in order to make amends with her for the misunderstanding, he needed to coax her using food.

"That's not dinner though. Let's order." He flipped through the menu and sat back on the sofa.

"Okay!" Han Yixin sat near him again, a tart in her mouth.

While waiting for their dinner, Han Yixin squatted by the pool and extended her hand to touch the heated water. She made small splashes with her hand playing like a kid.

Zhao Mingzhe, who came out from the shower in a bathrobe chuckled at this sight.

However, it was as if his childish wife is too preoccupied with the water that she did not notice him coming close.

"Han Yixin..." he called out in his stoic voice.

Startled, she abruptly stood up and turned to face him and lost footing.

She screamed as she knew she was gonna fall into the water.

However, his reflexes were faster and he managed to grab her arm and pulled her towards him.

Han Yixin closed her eyes and braced for impact. She fell onto him and the force pushed him down. Good thing that the floor is carpeted.

When she realized what happened, she became very apologetic.

"So-sorry! I'm sorry...Zhao Mingzhe, are you hurt?"

Zhao Mingzhe thought it was kind of funny that she was asking about his condition while maintaining her position on top of him.

To her annoyance, Zhao Mingzhe started to laugh, then it became a hearty one, thoroughly irritating her.

She frowned. "I hate you!" She slapped a palm on his c.h.e.s.t, which was exposed from the thick fluffy robe when they fell.

She tried to get up but her hand was wet from touching the water so she slipped and her body fell once again on top of him, this time, her tall nose touching his.

They blushed at the same time.

She attempted to push herself back but stopped as he commanded, "Don't move!"

Zhao Mingzhe used his core to lift her and himself from the position, supporting her head with his hand.

As they sat in front of each other on the carpet, the air felt awkward.

To dismiss this feeling, Zhao Mingzhe cleared his throat. "That's how I ended up supporting Ms. Liang." he suddenly explained.

"Huh?" the naive her would of course get confused.

"In the company...beside the elevators..." he gave her clues. He tried to check expression if she believed him.

"Oh..." Her expression told him she realized, but then her expression turned serious. "No one asked."

With that, she stood up went to take a shower.

Zhao Mingzhe sighed. It seemed he needed to extend this vacation to an entire week.

The food arrived when she was still in the bathroom. The staff set up a romantic dinner in the dining area.

The table was full, with sumptuous cuisines laid on every available space.

The dinner was composed of buttered lobsters, broiled shrimp, seared lamb chops, fillet mignon with sautéed vegetables and mashed potatoes, tom yum goong soup, khao khluk kapi and chicken satay. A bottle of Chardonnay was opened by the server after it has been sitting on an ice bucket for awhile.

"Thanks." Zhao Mingzhe dismissed the server with a generous tip.

Then he sighed as he looked at himself. He went to get a nice navy dress shirt from the full closet and paired it with dark gray pants. He kept the first button open.

Then he went to open the closet intended for his wife. He took a beige dress with navy blue ribbon, accenting the waist. Then he gulped when he looked through the u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r drawer. After much hesitancy, he took the beige seamless pair.

After which, he knocked on the bathroom door.

"Can it wait?" Han Yixin shout out towards the door. She had just plugged the hair dryer. Her locks are currently dripping wet.

"Food is here..." he declared. Then he added, "I picked out a dress for you."

The next moment, the door was yanked open.

"What?!" Her face turned beet red when she saw him carrying the dress, with the brassiere and p.a.n.t.i.e.s on top. Then she realized that he had dressed up. Irritated, she grabbed the clothes from him. "Give me that!" Then she slammed the bathroom door on his face.

It took her about fifteen more minutes to get herself ready. She found some skin care products and some makeup inside the dresser. When she came out, she looked elegant and demure, but barefooted.

He squatted before her and helped her wear a pair of navy peep-toe heels.

She blushed again. "I...I thought you ordered room service...are we eating in the restaurant instead?" She was confused why they suddenly needed to dress up.

He smiled mysteriously. "Follow me." He extended a hand towards her.

She took the hand and followed him to the veranda. The dining table was moved there earlier. The view of the city at night was mesmerizing. However, she was more shocked by the amount of food before them.

"Hey..." she looked up at him, then continued her words when he looked back. "Are we expecting company?"

He laughed. "My wife, how can I invite others?"

He cupped her confused face with his warm palm. "It's our honeymoon."
