Loving With My Mind

Chapter 53 - Good to Me

The following day, Donna Yang called out her best gals for coffee.

In reality, she needed to consult them on how to break it to her fiancé that she is still married.

Qin Lizhen arrived earlier without uttering a word. She just looked at Donna Yang sternly.

Donna Yang pouted. She knew that if she asked her friend to speak, she would be scolded badly. It is best to wait for her buffer, Han Yixin.

Three minutes later, Qin Lizhen's hand shook as she was placing her tea cup down on the saucer, making a sound of clashing porcelain. Donna Yang held back in spittin out her cold nai cha.

Han Yixin came wearing a halter top, backless jumpsuit in black with white edges. Her pixie cut hair framed her face well, limiting the edges.

Donna Yang had a wide mouth after she managed to hardly swallow her drink. Despite of it, no words were coming out of her mouth.

Han Yixin pursed her lips into a smile. "Hi!"

Finally, one of them was able to blurt out, "What happened to your hair?!"

Han Yixin laughed gently. "You don't like it?"

"Did you divorce Young Master Zhao?!" Qin Lizhen had wide eyes.

Donna Yang divorcing a hundred husbands is not news, but Han Yixin divorcing hers is like a bad omen.

Han Yixin snickered. "Why do people always associate a girl's haircut as a result of a break up?"

Donna Yang did not respond, but she crossed her arms over her full c.h.e.s.t.

Qin Lizhen narrowed her eyes. "Not stereotyping, but you often even forget to bring your hair to a salon for treatment, much less to decide to cut a significant length off."

Han Yixin's smile turned bitter as she gestured surrender with her hands as she sat. "You got me...I actually initially cut it."

"What happened?!" Donna Yang blurted, as if she just regained her voice.

Han Yixin raised the corner of her lips to one side. "Can I order first?"

"Ah, yes, yes..." Donna Yang raised her hand. "Waiter!"

They ordered more drinks and pastries for reinforcement. Each friend anticipated a juicy story.

After Han Yixin placed down her teacup, Qin Lizhen jumped onto the opportunity to ask, "What did he do?"

"Hey, don't tell us he hit you?! What do you have all those knives for?!" Donna Yang was already jumping into conclusions.

Han Yixin chuckled. "Well, I did not use them to cut my hair...and no, he did not hit me or abuse me in any way. He is good to me, on the contrary."

Her two friends leaned in closer, anticipating more explanation.

Han Yixin widened her smile. "He...is truly good to me. But perhaps, he is to everyone."

Donna Yang's mouth gaped as she shook her index finger as gesture, as if pointing onto something. "That night! The company banquet! You...you left early...and, and that vixen is there!"

"Who?!" Qin Lizhen became even more curious.

Han Yixin narrowed her eyes at Donna Yang, scolding her on her choice of word.

"What do you want me to call her, 'angel'?" Donna Yang popped in a tart in her mouth as she rolled her eyes.

"We don't know her." Han Yixin sipped on her tea.

"Eh, wait, wait, wait...what happened exactly?!" Qin Lizhen was confused and curious.

Han Yixin started telling how she saw her husband talking to his ex at the banquet and how he held her back by the arm.

Her two friends were munching on snacks and sipping drinks as if they were watching a movie, waiting for the story to unfold.

"Then he hired someone to make my haircut look decent and here we are. It is generally tranquil...for now." Han Yixin ended her explanation.

"Ooohh..." they said in chorus.

"Eh, wait a minute...I did not call this meeting! Why was I the one to talk about my hair?!" Han Yixin realized she was just invited out for coffee. However, her haircut made her the topic of discussion.

"Errhm..." Donna Yang had a forced smile.

"Donna Yang, your turn." Qin Lizhen had a commanding tone.

"Okay, okay..." Donna Yang was then the one who gestured surrender with her hands.

"So, what are you gonna do with your 'fiancé' now that your husband decided to take you back?" Han Yixin pointed out her thoughts.

Donna Yang wailed. "That's why I need you guys!"

"Can't you just dump him like all those other guys?" Qin Lizhen's expression was boredom.

"But he...Su Jiancheng is different!" Donna Yang continued to slump on the table, expertly dodging the food and cutlery.

Han Yixin looked around, checking for reporters. Her famous actress of a friend looked unpresentable right now. Then she sternly turned to the actress. "He's different because he bought you a rock without tasting you?"

Both friends widened their eyes. Donna Yang even sat upright. They could not believe they would live a day that they would hear such words from Han Yixin. Married life changed her.

Donna Yang regained her senses. "Erhm...well, that's one thing. But, aside from that, he has more to offer!"

"A whole golf course?" Qin Lizhen mocked.

Donna Yang frowned at her. "So he is rich! We all hooked up with rich people! Why are you making it seem like it's all about money?! I have money! Why would I hook up with anyone just for cash?!"

"Then explain yourself properly! Don't give us all those 'erhmm' shiz you have!" Qin Lizhen was getting impatient.

"Okay, okay! He treats me well. Like Xin-xin described her husband to her, he treats me well too. Yes, he has the money...but hey, he uses those loads of cash to surprise me...to please me. He...makes me feel special." Donna Yang managed to explain.

"Okay." Han Yixin sounded convinced, though it might just be to make it easier for her friend. After all, it was not her but Donna Yang who is in a relationship with Su Jiancheng. "But, you're still married after all. It's best to let him know soon, especially if you appreciate all his efforts on you. By the looks of you guys at the banquet, Thomas Leung does not seem to be someone who will divorce you easily, given that he did not sign the papers over a year ago."

Qin Lizhen made a few slow claps. "Han Yixin has the least marriage time among us, but she has great insights."

"So, how will I say it? Like, 'Hey, sorry, I didn't know I'm still married and now my husband is back!' like that?" Donna Yang was being sarcastic, but her face was full of worry.

Her two friends narrowed their eyes.

"You can give back the ring, say you're sorry...that you were just caught in the moment and that you are still legally married, so it is not possible." Han Yixin declared in a pokerface.

"Leave out Thomas Leung being back?"

"Donna Yang, do you still plan to see this guy after returning the ring?" Han Yixin asked.

"Uh, of course not! For one, I would not have a face to show!"

"Then he need not know about your athlete husband who can break a golf club, okay?"

Donna Yang nodded.
