Chapter 84: Fall

Yu Han coughed again and this time he spat out onto the floor of the jet. His breathing was labored and he could only mumble from being winded, kicked, and prodded.

The sirens drew closer to the jet. "Fly this damn thing already!" Yelled a voice seated directly next to Mo Che. He cringed slightly from the noise as he could not cover his ears.

"What are you waiting for?" His guard asked sounding annoyed.

The pilot replied with the same tone, "Are you stupid? The door is still open."

"I don't care! Close it in the air! Hurry!"

"It is very dangerous!" The pilot insisted.

"Close it now! Unless you want the cops to get a hold of us!" His guard won the argument as Mo Che felt the plane began moving forward on the tarmac.

Yu Han swayed with the motion unable to find his center. His guard shoved him towards the couch and he circled himself as the plane picked up speed. The sirens were chasing the plane. Mo Che could hear them clearer now.

'Faster! Please!' Mo Che begged silently. He is more concerned for Yu Han than himself. He wanted them to be lucky if both of them were saved, but he cannot really expect much.

"Make that old man sit down!" Mo Che heard the shout. He then tried to speak over his gag to get his friends attention. A plane preparing to fly with an open door that is courting death, if Yu Han continued to stand up he could end up dead..

A loud and abrupt slap across his face told Mo Che that he needed to stop the noise that he is making.

Yu Han swayed more as the plane began to shake a little from the speed. The door slowly began to close but not fast enough as Yu Han stumbled closer to the opening and despite his

guard's effort to shove Yu Han in the right direction, Yu Han moved too close to the open door.

Without any capability of stopping the accident from happening Yu Han was lost to the dark of night. A scream escaped him as he began his descent which decrescendo with every movement

further from the plane.

'Yu Han!' Mo Che shouted through his gag. He doesn't care if it is muffled and cannot be understood. He tried to go where the noise came from, but again stopped.

Yu Han's voice burned into Mo Che's mind and although he couldn't see the aftermath he was certain he heard the sound of Yu Han's body coming to rest on the tarmac a few feet below the now ascending airplane. The door shut and sealed, the sirens stopped, and the wheels of the plane lifted. The cabin went silent.

Mo Che sat back slowly as he processed everything that happened. His emotion was all over the place. Mostly feeling guilty and helpless.

His only consolation is that the police were so close to them and would be able to save Yu Han.

"One down. One to go." a voice said emotionless, breaking the silence." Mo Che fought back the sudden anger that he felt, he knew that any outburst could cost him his life.

He needed to fight for Mo Lihua at least. At the same time, he also wanted to hurt the people that took them. If they will end up not caring about Yu Han, why take him on the first place?!

Mo Che knew that he couldn't go out like this. He knew he needed to hold on as long as he could and crying out or defending the honor of his friend would only bring him to a swift end. He allowed the silence be his solace.

He hung his head and said a silent prayer for Yu Han. He knew this fight was coming but he never imagined he would have brought others into danger.

Worst of all, he imagined, if anyone were to die it would have been him. Instead his stupid drunkard of a friend had taken the fall.

Mo Che knew he had to bid his time and soon he would have a clearer picture of what he needed to do to end everything. He swallowed everything back down into his gut as the plane climbed higher and higher into the night sky.

"It hurts when you lose those you love doesn't it?" A man said loudly, that is strangely familiar.

'Is it the pilot? No. Who is this?' He asked himself. Still, Mo Che knew better than to acknowledge that.

Then the man continued, "Just think how much harder it's going to be to watch your daughter Mo Lihua die. What a joy that will be to me." Then the blindfold was removed, and when his vision adjusted to the light, he was surprised with who he had seen…
