Marryin Off The Spinster

Chapter 2 - WEDDING INVITATION

Kenny went inside the bathroom. This sudden appearance of her best friend is really a pain in the a.s.s. She thinks she's gonna kick that b.u.t.t of hers someday. 'Damn! I might not be able to scrub my body today.' She thought, as she opened the faucet and fill the yellow pail in front.

Meanwhile, at the living room, someone knocked on the door. Toby, who was sitting with his one leg up while watching a morning show "The Hustler", went down the sofa and opened the door. There in front, Mikhail, Kenny's cousin from the mother side was grinning at them. "Oy Kuya," Toby acknowledged. "Come in." leading him to the chair nearby. "What's ours?"

Toby went back to his seat. "Is auntie here today?" asked Mikhail. He was holding an invitation letter. "Oh, hi Nancy!" noticing, he greeted the girl who's busy with her projects on the living room's tiled floor. "Hi Kuya Kael. What's up with the early visit?" not looking up as she's currently looking for her marker. "Geez, where's it?" she faintly mumble.

"I'm getting married and," showing the invitation card he's holding since he came, handed it to Nancy. "I'm here to hand down the invitation for my big day."

"Oh yeah, I've heard it too." Nancy said.

"Congrats in advance, Kuya Kael!" Toby genuinely congratulates him. "You're getting married and too bad for my sis –" Toby stopped as he saw his sister coming out from the bathroom, who just finished taking a bath.

"I heard that." With a despised look, Kenny narrowed her eyes and looked like she's gonna kick another b.u.t.t someday. Nahh, that makes two already. She's mentally taking note of it.

"Well, that's the truth tho." Toby just shrugged his shoulders and went back to watch the show from the screen. "You're a hopeless case." And there you go, he laughed just like an idiot.

"Oy Kenny Rogers!" Mikhael greeted Kenny, teasing her like always. Still in a pissed off mood, she said, "Oy, what are you doing here Kokey?" If Kael has a pet name for her, well, she got one, too. "I'm getting married," still smiling as he said it once again.

"For real?" She mused. Mikhael chuckled, "For real."

"The date of the wedding is written on the card and the place where it will be held." Mikhael continued. "You should come, okay?"

"She'll not come, Kuya. Knowing her, she'll just make lots of excuses," Nancy retorted sarcastically. 'Now that makes three butts to kick.'

"Nahh, my precious little cousin will tie the knot, so I really have to go and attend it." she defended herself. "Hey, I have to change first. Don't go yet okay?" Then she head upstairs.

Then it suddenly hits her big time. People are really getting married nowadays, even the younger ones and her cousins are no longer the ones she's grown up with. 'Oh no. I'm already left behind.' Kendra, chill.
