Marvel: A Symbiotic Life

Chapter 187 - 137 | Carnage Unfolds. Part 2

Gwen Stacy's POV,

"So, any questions?" Max asked.

Many, but first. "Y-You are an alien?"

Max nodded. "Yes… but I was raised as a human, so I understand your concerns. Even though I look scary, I don't eat people's brains, aliens don't do that… well not all."

Gwen's eyes widened that wasn't on the list of possibilities. Now she had to look out for when he might eat her brain… Oh, God, this day couldn't get any worse.

"Oh, and before you ask, we currently on a different planet. And no, I didn't kidnap you or anything… on the contrary you are the reason why I am stuck here…" he huffed. "I was… I was supposed to get married in three days, now I am here, light-years away, because…" he pinched the middle of his nose, breathing out.

"Ah… sorry?" Gwen said, but it came out as a whisper, but Max heard it nonetheless. So she wasn't kidnapped? But what did he mean because of her, he was here? She was hoping that the lights would turn on and all of this would be a big joke— she hopped.

"Don't be sorry… Be better." He said, "And for God's sake don't you lose control when you turn. The symbiote is almost permanently bonded to you, I did remove him, but I am pretty sure in a couple of hours you will be able to turn again. And this time, don't lose control. It will make my job a lot easier." He finished.

Gwen nodded, almost all of his words were going over her head. What did he mean— Symbiote? Alien? Lose Control. But she nodded nonetheless, even though she had no reason to trust him, she was going to go along with it, until she could escape. Maybe he was just a messed up mutant, that found it hilarious to kidnap people, she didn't believe the news up until now, but she had to be careful.

"Good," Max said, as he kneeled in front of her, the girl almost wanted to hide in the wall. His hands moved towards the rope, or webs that held her captive, and he removed it. "Try to stand up. We are in hiding so, we have to change our locations from time to time." Max said, before walking towards a large machine, there was a platform above it and with one jump he was on the top. That was supposed to be two stores high, and he leaped through it like it was no deal. "When your head is cleared, come up. I will explain everything."

Gwen gulped, this place was weird. She pushed herself off the ground, the bindings were a bit tight on her, so she had red marks going along her wrist, same with her legs. Those will leave a mark, except she could see that the marks were leaving at a rapid rate, was this considered normal? Defiantly a no. What was happening to her?

With how wired things were… everything was but normal. Gwen looked up, where Max was and he didn't seem to care, as he was tinkering with some machinery on the top of the run-down platform.

This was the chance, maybe she could make a run for it. She looked around, finding a large door. A large door in a factory usually meant an escape route, or that's how it's always portrayed in the movies.

But then she heard a squeaking noise, and she was bolted in place. She gulped, was that… no… she moved her head and in the corner of her eyes, she saw a ċȯċkroach or so she thought, but the thing was it was big as a rat and had three eyes on its headshell.

It was burnishing its antennas and was nibbling on the ropes/webs that held her just a second ago. And it moved its eyes towards her, all three of them. Her skin crawled and a shiver ran down her spine.

Her body started moving on its own and she was climbing the ladder brought her to Max, who was previously there tinkering with stuff. And he gave her a look. "That was fast."

"Epp, I am sorry." She said, and her eyes moved towards the machinery that he was working on, except there was a dead body there and by the looks of it, he was putting stuff in it. And to add salt to it, the dead body had a horse head.

Gwen saw the word spinning and she lost her balance from the ladder. She was about to scream when a string of webs caught her, wrapping around her waist.

"Be careful." Max said, "Come up."

Webs? Wait, was this spider-man? But he didn't seem that tall, the last time she saw him.

"Come up, and don't make any noise."

Gwen nodded, as she got up to the platform. Her eyes darted back to the lifeless body of the man… wait why did his head look like a horse.

"I know you have many questions. But sit down." Max said, seeing the girl hesitating, maybe explaining in detail will help. He was just dead tired after separating her from the symbiote, it took a quiet out of him to do so. "This will take some time to explain."
