Mercenaries In Apocalypse.

The screen showed the live footage of the moon base. Percy unbuckled from the seat and started to dress himself in his prototype space suit. Even though the base was big enough for the ship to enter, he had to switch off the life support as he did not want to take any potential radiation and virus risks, by flushing the ship with vacuum and by potentially sealing himself and the cabin he would feel more safe. After he finished preparation, he officially started his mission. His mission was simple, scouting the base for any metals that can be salvaged and for any possible clues which were missed during previous missions. As the mission started the ship entered the base. Even though it was a base it was large enough for his ship to venture inside.

The base was a pyramid shape structure which was camouflaged inside a crater. The base was same as pyramids found on earth. The records stated that the earth pyramids where only a prototype for this huge structure. As the ship ventures inside, Percy activated the sonar as due to interference from the radiation, it was not possible for the transmission to be accurate. Inside of the base was made of a type of a metal covered in ashy substance which seemed dust, but was actually skin. From the amount one can assume the amount of population and it's scale of destruction as all the beings turned into ash.

Percy wanted to use the base metal walls and frames for various further projects, but Jarvis informed him that the base was situated in the crater and the structure density is very high as even the deva race weapon was not able to damage it. So no matter what he could not use it. As the ship explored the base, there was an eriee silence in the base. The base was hollow from inside, the walls of the base were thick as a mountain. There were rooms for the crew in the walls. The hollow part of the pyramid only consisted of the main drive and power source of the base, which god knows how was still operational but just needed a jump start.

For Obvious reasons the ship could not go to the rooms but still scanned it for any possible clues. The UN when knew also wanted to salvage parts from its engines and base, but due to their limited technology and greed they couldn't. Instead they focused on the bas.e.m.e.nt. The bas.e.m.e.nt of the base was the part where the knowledge source and the solution for the virus was stored.

As the ship went further upwards the computer scanned the rooms, until it reached topmost cabin, the tip of the pyramid. It was the communication chamber as stated in the records. As the ship scanned the chamber, the sonar image transmitted an abnormality in the image formed. A black portion in the chamber, which indicated two things either the portion is destroyed or it is made up of a special type of material to prevent any disturbance for whatever that is inside.

Percy didn't know what it was but he could not take any risk, so he deployed the Rover to check. The Rover when reached the cabin found nothing which look liked a destroyed cabin. The blackened portion in the image was a metallic box. Percy retrieved the box and concluded his mission.

"Alright, mission accomplished. Startup the trace-back sequence and inform me when we are about to reach the planetary atmosphere" Percy instructed the computer.

"Command Acknowledged. Initiating travel."

The ship engine roared and starting moving out of the base, then went the same route as it came.

Just as the ship reached the atmosphere the computer informed Percy about the reentry protocol.

Percy seated on his seat looked at the beautiful planet below and a sharp glint passed in his eyes.

"Jarvis, you there." Percy connected to Jarvis during reentry and Jarvis took over the systems.

"Sir, I have taken over for the time being, shall i go through the scan records for any information and clues."

"Let them be for the time being, chart a course to the UN council HQ and switchback to the original engines and warm up the weapons system. Its time to Party." Percy commanded.

" Okay sir."
