MicroTech: Academy Of Idiots

Chapter 63 - Leave IT To Me

Leave It To Me

The exam results revealed who studied well despite the continuous worries.

"We will see Lui today. Is he still in intensive care?" Crag asked. He was also a part of the gang and rarely spoke anything.

He was observing the development of the events critically. He was not some dumb or carefree guy; the reason he joined the group was because he was forced by his father. His father was the second Overseer of the big hall in the Sect. He was once humiliated in front of the other Elders despite his being the Overseer after a wizard broke in and wreaked havoc in the Sect Hall. Some common magicians and servants were killed.

He asked his son to never let the son of the Sect Master direct his attention towards studying. He wanted all the sons to become idle. The Sect Master's son will no longer have a bright future. It would reduce his overall métier in the Sect, and he would lose his status as the Sect Master's son. This was the only way to address his grudge. It was no problem for Crag to learn the study material of this world, and pass the exams. The only difficulty was his attention. After coming to this world, he was confused whether to still follow the instructions of his father or mind his own business like the other two who had left the academy; or just focus on study and leave the group.

"Crag, what are you worried for?" his friend questioned him while nudging him in the elbow. He wasn't willing to go see Lui and waste his precious time; instead, he wanted to know what kind of project Lippizan presented in the finals. Every approved project meant a lot.

"I'm not worried at all. It is you who is hiding something from me," Crag was witty and a genius so, he could see the reluctance across his face.

"I know you Crag. I know why you joined the group, so there is no need for you to play coy with words with me," Man Hu sneered at him after glancing towards the others who were walking towards the exit of the main hall. They were going to see Lui.

"What do you know?" Crag retorted pretending he didn't understand the statement. He never talked freely with anyone, so Man Hu couldn't tell what was running through his head unless he was not as dull as he showed off and was after all a genius learner of magic as well.

"I don't need some crappy dimwit to tell me why you joined the group back then. I have seen your father tutoring you personally, and the matter of the Overseer being reprimanded by the Sect Master was known to everyone. Only Lui was dumb enough not to understand your motives," he gritted his teeth as he revealed the secret of Crag's friendship.

Crag was genuinely alarmed to hear this as he looked around and swiftly placed his hand on Man Hu's mouth, "keep your voice down. What's your problem? Why are you spouting in the middle of the crowd?" he scowled at Man Hu.

If the others heard then, it would be a real problem for him. If the by walkers had heard they would look at them suspiciously, either way, could spell trouble.

"If you don't want me to reveal it to anyone, then help me in return. I want to know what project Lippizan will be working on in this grade," the boy taunted. He looked at the boy standing in front of him as if he was looking at a business partner with equal terms and conditions.

"Why do you want to know? What is your purpose? I'm sensing something is off, is it true?" Crag had not investigated this disciple back then. In fact, he didn't bother to investigate any one of the gang members which he regretted at the moment. If he had known who Man Hu was and why he was in the gang, he might have probably taken precautions to avoid revealing anything.

"You don't need to know. The only thing I want is to see the project file," he spoke sharply and didn't reveal what was in his mind. The enemy of an enemy might be considered a friend in proverbs, but it was not wholly accurate.

If you were to make someone an enemy, remember that anyone who has anything to do with your enemy can use a sliver of a chance at short notice when you might not be in a position to defend yourself.

"I better take the risk. You can tell Lui why I joined the group," Crag crossed his arms, he was equally stubborn.

"You…" Man Hu gritted his teeth in annoyance.

His reaction made Crag chuckle. He didn't have the guts to carry out a threat properly. He wasn't dumb. He read right through Man Hu.

"I wanted to do a project which could nullify the authenticity of his project, that's it…" he whispered through gritted teeth.

Crag took a deep breath and smirked he was not some numbskull. Though Man Hu did not reveal the complete truth, he would find it out one day. If it was only the matter of a project, then he might not have requested and accepted his help.

"So what excuse are you brewing now?" Man Hu asked expectantly also attempting to read the look on Crag's face.

Crag had passed his exams, and moreover, he was considered more reliable for Ni Chen and Lippizan. If he said that he has something important to do and will visit Lui another day, then they would not probe any further. When they were about to leave the premises of the Academy, Crag voiced his concerns to Ni Chen from behind while others walked ahead.

"I'm helping you doesn't mean that I support your plans. It is just for friendship," Crag whispered while instantly breaking into a smile and waving to stop the group.

Man Hu snickered and thought to himself, 'Hmmm…for friendship? What nonsense?' He could speak just about anything but not friendship. It seemed like Crag was cracking him up. 'What a joke!'

The real face of their years-long friendship would hit them hard. It would be a sight for all to see. 'They had always feared the enemies of this world when, in fact, they should actually fear their friends of the previous world.' Man Hu thought to himself and waved his hand as well to stop the group.

It was not apparent who was actually friend and who would stab?
