Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

Chapter 16 - To the dinner party (Part 1)

In the past, Bella Lim was indeed lacking friend, but there were some people that she had a good relationship with. Lily was one of those people.

Their friendship started when she recruited her to work with Simply Café. This woman had been living quite a wild, dangerous life and Bella Lim was the one that pulled her back to reality.

"Bella, what's up?" Lily's breathy voice entered her ear. The sound was like someone who just ran a marathon.

"Sis, are you busy?" Bella Lim asked. She called her with respect as Lily was three years older than her. Even though, the other often treat her like she was the older one.

"Right now? Well, you could say that. I-I'm with my boyfriend,"

Bella Lim's lips formed into an O the moment she heard Lily's response. The slight hesitation in her voice told her that the woman must be blushing. So, the breathy, shaky voice could probably mean that they were just doing that?

Bella Lim couldn't help but think perversely.

"Why did you call me?" Lily asked. Her voice was now clear and raspy. This voice of hers was quite seductive. An attribute that probably caused men to feel weak on their knees.

"I'm calling if you can help look after my brother. Boss sends me for an errand tonight," Bella Lim explained, while at the same time praying that Lily wouldn't reject her, especially knowing that she was with her boyfriend.

The time she had was very limited. If Lily couldn't make it, who would she ask for help?

Hopefully, the bonus she was about to offer would ignite her willingness.

"Jordan did? That's weird. I'll help, but… can it be after 8? I need a good excuse to chase my boyfriend away. Nowadays I don't have time to look for men. I was quite lucky to fish this one. You should know how I feel about having no man," there was a chuckle at the end.

Bella Lim twitched when she heard her response. She couldn't decipher Lily's perception of a relationship. To her, men were replaceable. Like changing clothes!

"250 AD," Bella Lim stated.

"What?"

"I'm in a pinch. The dinner party is at 8. I'll pay you 250 AD if you could come now," Finally, Bella Lim used her trump card. She understood Lily well. This woman was indeed a playboy, but money was even more important to her.

She recalled their conversation once in which Lily referred to money as a potent drug. Without it, she couldn't survive.

This was upsetting. If she didn't know that Lily was saying it as a joke, she probably had arranged a counseling session for her.

Actually, Bella Lim was worried about Lily. She was afraid that Lily's dogma would turn against her in the future. She secretly promised to expose Lily to the opposite coin of her dogma. Who knows that one day she would fall in love for real?

Thankfully, Lily was freed of her dark past!

"250 AD?" she heard Lily repeated the offer she mentioned previously. Then…

"Holy sh*t 250 AD! I'm in. I'll be there in ten,"

Bella Lim's lips curled to a cunning smile. The bait had proven its cogency.

"How about your boyfriend?" she asked. Even though she already knew that with the offer she made, Lily probably would ditch her boyfriend right away.

"Nah, I just met him today. I'm fine without him. Okay, I'm hanging up. See you in ten!" said Lily and the phone call ended. Bella Lim could only laugh as she went to her room and took her jacket.

Exactly ten minutes later, Lily was already in Bella Lim's house.

"Sis, thank you for coming," Bella Lim couldn't be more thankful. Even though Lily was lured by money, the fact that she was willing to help was enough to tell that she was a kind person. Moreover, she already expressed her zeal before the talk of money came up.

"With 250 AD, anyone will be willing to help," Lily grinned as she went to peek on little pumpkin. There was a content smile on her face when she watched the little boy sleeping peacefully.

"Little Ryan is as cute as ever," Lily adored as she closed the bedroom door.

"He is. I'm grateful he is," Bella Lim agreed as her eyes showed unfathomable gratitude. Lily stared at her for a while. For a moment, she felt that Bella Lim was talking about something else.

"Sis, will you be okay if I leave now? Is there anything you need?"

"No, nothing. Don't worry, I'll treat this as my house," Lily shook her head as she walked to the fridge and took a bottle of water. She drank some of it and scowled at Bella who was still in the house.

Seeing the woman trying so much to show that she would do fine on her own, Bella Lim chuckled and then waved goodbye.

Before leaving she said: "Thank you, sis. I'll transfer the money to you soon. Take care of little pumpkin and the house!"

Then, she left the house and directly went to her bike. She managed a glance at the watch on her wrist.

7 PM. Another one hour before 8 PM. Seeing the time that was getting shorter, anxiety was trying to consume Bella Lim's calmness. She bit her lips to retain clarity of mind. It seemed that even after being reborn, she was still easy to get panic!

To save time, Bella Lim decided to call the boutique, so that they could prepare things beforehand. If it was any other boutique, this rush appointment would probably get rejected but not at this boutique. The reason because it was owned by someone she knew well.

After receiving assurance from the boutique that everything would be prepared before she arrived, Bella Lim hit the road with her bike at full speed. If she went for her normal speed, it would take at least 25 minutes to reach there. She really didn't have much time, hence she released the skill she had learned a long time ago. It took her only 15 minutes to reach the boutique!

While on the road she also thought of what to say for the presentation. First, she needed to understand the crux behind The Exquisite's successfulness. She remembered that this café was newly launched. Yet, the wave it created was massive. Despite being an expensive café, its customers were not only the rich but also the common folks.

So, what was it? What was the magnetic force that pulled people to come to the café? Was it the food or the drinks? Was it the ambiance? Or the friendly workers?

Bella Lim felt that these could be the answer and yet she felt that these weren't. She could only hold onto the thought when she saw the entrance of the stand-alone, two floors building of the boutique. She noticed the sign 'closed' was already being put up.

She paid no heed to the notice as she pushed the door opened and entered the boutique. The moment she entered, she saw a man who was holding a few dresses was walking down the stairs.
