Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

In the Countryside, Bella Lim and her little pumpkin had just returned after creating happy memories at Mistcoast theme park.

Little pumpkin fell asleep as soon as he took his shower. He didn't even manage to wear his pants properly. Therefore, the big sister was the one who helped to fix the problem.

Bella Lim stared at the precious little pumpkin who was now sleeping on his bed. His snoring made her lips cracked into an amusing smile. Today was a joyous moment for the two of them.

To little pumpkin, it was because he finally had the chance to visit Mistcoast theme park, while Bella Lim took it as the moment of gratitude. She was celebrating her new given life. 

To be reborn means to encounter similar life events again. However, Bella Lim realized that there were also certain things that weren't exactly like what she had experienced before.

Still, that wasn't something she should be worried about because there was something much more meaningful in going through the process. She learned how to appreciate everything no matter how big or small it was. That was what she did the whole day today and it gave her a sense of accomplishment.

Bella Lim smiled as she recalled little pumpkin's happy face the moment he set foot on Mistcoast theme park. Memories after memories flashed in her eyes when suddenly her phone rang. She immediately left the room as not to interrupt little pumpkin's sleep.

"Boss?" she said as soon as she answered the phone call. She was surprised when the name Jordan Lee appeared on the screen. She wondered over the purpose of this phone call. 

Now was already 6 PM which meant the café was already closed, so why did he call her? She understood her employer well, this person would never call his workers out of working hours. A trait that she really appreciated.

"Bella, you must help me tonight," Jordan Lee's worried voice was the one she first noticed.

"What happened?" she asked. Deep down she was trying to recall if a similar event had occurred in her past life and found that no such incident happened. Tonight supposed to be free from outside disturbance. 

It looked like her reborn had altered certain events in her life. This was the only plausible explanation.

"Do you remember when I talked to you about the expansion plan?" Jordan Lee asked.

"Yes," Bella Lim answered without delay. 

"I also talked about rebranding. Do you recall?" hearing so many questions, Bella Lim thought that this man was testing her memory.

"Yes, I recall," she answered. At the same time, an urge to throw a bucket of cold water on him so that he would speak faster emerged in her mind. 

Regarding his questions, she indeed remembered their talk about expanding and rebranding Simply Café. The boss mentioned that his cousin was a powerful man and with his help, he had the opportunity to rebrand his café and become the chain of one of the most famous cafés in the country; The Exquisite.

"We scored!" Jordan Lee suddenly spoke in a loud voice causing Bella Lim to almost let go of her phone due to the shock.

"Congratulations?" she wasn't sure how to react. First, because she was never involved in the process. Their conversation about the expansion and rebranding was also one-sided in which she never got the chance to express her opinion. Not that she was against the idea. 

"Thank you," Jordan Lee said. He was a man that didn't shy away from a compliment.

"So, tonight the director that was in charge to oversee the selection has invited all the candidates to a dinner party," 

Bella Lim sneered as she was annoyed by Jordan Lee's lack of urgency. He should be taught how to talk straightforwardly. Besides, what did he meant by selection and candidates? Didn't he just mention about scoring the deal

"Bella Lim, I want you to represent Simply Café," the man spoke again however this time he was dropping a bomb onto her.

Bella Lim was truly shocked at this sudden twist. For all she knew, the boss would never let her attend any gathering, meeting, etc. It was he who often attend all the social gatherings.

Plus, she was someone who lived solely for the sake of her little family's survival. Socializing wasn't really her forte. Bella Lim was going to refuse but was interrupted by her boss instead.

"You must go! I rely on you to score a spot for Simply Café. The truth is, the rebranding is still not confirmed. We are only one of the twelve candidates that applied to become a chain café of The Exquisite,"

"Tonight, each representative will present their proposal. Sharing what they could offer to the development of The Exquisite. I want to go but the more I think about it, you're more knowledgeable about Simply Café. You know its strengths more than I do. This is embarrassing to talk but I have to admit, you're more qualified," Jordan Lee elaborated explanation made everything clear. It seemed that he was really hoping for Bella Lim to go.

However, she wasn't persuaded, instead, she was angry. This man deserved a beating.

"Boss, I understand your concern, but the event is tonight, and I only find out now, how do you expect me to go about the presentation? If I fail, will you blame me? Is this one of the cases where you're empty-handed again?" she complained while at the same time hitting the man's nasty truth.

Bella Lim almost fell for the part where Jordan Lee talked about how she knows more about Simply Café than him. The truth was, this man simply letting go of his responsibilities. There were many incidents in the past where she fell for the same tricks. Even more infuriating, this heartless man would use it as leverage to increase her working hours or to deduct her salary.

Bella Lim wished she had said each word in front of Jordan Lee. His reaction must be sour than a lemon. 

For the first time, Bella Lim felt the true power of being reborn. Now, she could see how much people had been playing with her life in the past. Would she relent to their tactics again? No way! 

"Bella, you shouldn't say that. You're the only senior at Simply Café, you should also take some responsibility. No?" Jordan Lee's voice suddenly became soft. But, Bella Lim could imagine his irate face.

"Sure, I will help," she replied. 

"Really?" the man was elated.

"Of course, as you said, I indeed know more about the café than you do. However, I will only go if you cover the expenses. Send me 1000 AD after this. 500 AD for me to buy a dress and other essentials as well as for transport. 250 AD for me to hire a nanny to take care of my brother. The other 250 is to pay for my hour," she said.

"Yes or no?" she pressed on. Either way, she wouldn't let the man controlled her!

"This-" Jordan Lee hesitated. He felt like cursing the woman. However, what she said was also the truth. He was indeed unprepared despite knowing about the dinner a month earlier.

"I will send the money to you, but I hope you'll not fail. Or else I'll ask for a double repayment," he said with gritted teeth.

"Boss, if you threaten me like this, I will not go. You still have Daniel, Lily, Elis and yourself. Pick your choice," Bella Lim said as a matter of fact. If the man thought that threatening her would work, he could only keep dreaming!

"You! Sure, I'll just think of it as if investing in the café. Regardless of the result, you don't have to pay me back," Jordan Lee's strangled voice almost caused Bella Lim to erupt into laughter. Serve him right! 

"Thank you, Mr. Jordan. May I know where the dinner is?" she asked.

"Hmm- it's at Gun Raymond's estate. Be there at 8!" Jordan Lee said and then hang up.

This rude act, however, didn't make Bella Lim angry. She was seen smiling because the 1000 AD she had asked for had been transferred to her account number. 

Now, she just needed to ask Lily to come to her house and help to look after little pumpkin. Then, she would ride her bike to the city to doll herself. She knew a boutique that could help with her dress and makeup. Thankfully, Gun Raymond's estate was not far. With her bike, she could reach there within 30 minutes from the boutique.

Bella Lim looked at her watch and noticed that she only had one and a half-hour left to prepare. 

She immediately dialed Lily's number.
