Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

Chapter 75 - Sinby Haven - The race upon arrival

Bella Lim came down from the plane five minutes later. Once her foot touched the ground, she took a good look around. The whole area was solid high ground, however, the waves of the sea could be seen from afar. This island was a large and fertile tropical island. Some naturally grown trees seemed to fit perfectly among the perfectly organized planted fruiting trees. Right in front of him was a long straight road that connected the hangar to the big coastal house located at the end of the road.

The view was magnificent, befitting the name of Sinby Haven. A smile appeared on Bella Lim's face. She took a deep breath, feeling relived by the fresh air of the island. Although it was already noon, the sun wasn't glaring.

"Bella!"

Bella Lim saw a woman in dandy clothes approached her. She frowned when she saw Madam Olivia ran to her with a floral hair wreath on her hand.

The woman smiled brightly upon seeing her. "This is to welcome you to Sinby Haven," Madam Olivia happily put on the floral hair wreath on Bella Lim's head.

"As expected. It's perfect on you!" she exclaimed. Bella Lim chuckled as she thanked Madam Olivia. The woman simply ignored her gesture as she pulled her towards the crowd standing not far from them.

"Alright, since everyone is here. We should go to the house. I've got a lot of things ready for us. I hope no one is tired from the journey," Madam Olivia spoke once they gathered all together.

"I'm full of spirit!" Lu Fei declared.

"Me too!" little pumpkin cheered. His eyes were brimmed with anticipation as he looked at Madam Olivia adoringly.

"Aww, call me mama Olivia again," Madam Olivia requested as she patted the little boy's head. Little pumpkin happily obliged as he called Madam Olivia as mama Olivia. This made the woman laughed joyfully. Afterward, she looked at Bella Lim and Eric Wu who somehow ended up standing together, side by side.

"How bout you guys?" she asked and lifted an eyebrow.

"Sure!" they both answered at the same time. Their perfect timing made Madam Olivia grinned widely.

"Good!" she said in a hype voice. Then, she asked them to hop on the three jeep wranglers that were waiting for them from the time Eric Wu's plane landed on Sinby Haven.

"Eric, you drive this with Bella and Lu Fei will drive the other one with little pumpkin. I'll ride this one with Tao," Madam Olivia instructed as she winked at the two men. Eric Wu and Lu Fei looked at each other before their eyes burned with excitement.

"A race?" Eric Wu chuckled as he approached the white jeep wrangler, pointed by his mother. At the same time, he smirked at the two potential racers. Lu Fei gently touched the frame of his spectacle as he pulled little pumpkin's hand towards the green jeep.

"Hahaha! I'll win against you guys! The house is sixty-two miles from here. Let's see who'll come first. Tao, will you do the honor to become my assistant?" Madam Olivia spread out her left hand, waiting for Tao to give an affirmative yes by clasping their palm together.

Tao who was excited at the upcoming race didn't wait for long as he clasped his hand with Madam Olivia. "At your service, my lady!" he curtsied and Madam Olivia laughed excitedly.

"I'll go with Lu Fei. I'm worried about little pumpkin," Bella Lim quickly spoke when she realized their intention. She stared at little pumpkin to see if he understood what was going on. Little pumpkin stared back and smiled.

"Big sis! This is nothing. Motorbike is scarier than a car," he said without blinking his eyes. Hearing him said so, Bella Lim didn't know whether to laugh or to worry about her little pumpkin's bravery. He was too enthusiastic!

"I know, but it'll be safer if big sis tag along," she explained. Besides, what was the big deal? Must she ride with Eric Wu?

"Bella, don't worry. My assistant will look after little Ryan," Madam Olivia intervened when she realized that Bella Lim wanted to ride with Lu Fei.

"I forgot to mention that there will be two people in a team. Lu Fei will team up with little Ryan, Tao and I. Finally, Eric and Bella. Penalties await the loser. The winner will receive a privilege in tomorrow's party," Madam Olivia added on as she put on her sunglasses to hide the cunning glint in her eyes.

"Penalty?" Bella Lim couldn't help but suspected something.

"It's to spice things up! Don't think too much into it, but if you want to find out what it is... just ask Eric to lose," Lu Fei spoke up. He winked at Bella Lim before retreating to the green sturdy vehicle together with little pumpkin.

Bella Lim sighed. She searched for Madam Olivia, but the woman was already inside the red jeep together with Tao.

"Bello, come!" Eric Wu was already waiting outside the passenger's seat. Bella Lim walked towards the man, stopped right in front of him, and took a deep breath.

"Eric!" she said, exhaling. Eric Wu frowned but he didn't say anything.

"Stop being obnoxious! Don't shut me up. I need you to tell me what I did wrong so I can fix it. I don't think we can cooperate if you're like the unknown weather," Bella Lim expressed the emotions she had been suppressing. Moreover, she had enough of blaming herself. It was time to set things straight with this man.

The frown on Eric Wu's forehead became profound. He stared at the small woman in front of him. Her height only reached his c.h.e.s.t, but the way she carried herself made her noticeable. The anger she blurted out made her looked incredibly cute.

But, she was right.

He had been acting like a brat all because of the jealousy that burgeoned from their conversation yesterday. He couldn't help but overthink that she was in love with someone else. Still, his d.e.s.i.r.e to be with her was stronger than ever. These two feelings overlapping inside him made him acted out of his usual self.

Eric Wu inhaled as he made a quick judgment about his situation. This was the first time he felt this way toward someone. It was childish of him to make an assumption when she didn't make any confirmation. He should be wiser about this. Gradually, the frown on his face softened. A gentle smile was now on his face.

"I promise not to be annoying, but if I win this, allow me to have a date with you," he bent forward, face an inch away from Bella Lim. It should be known that their interactions were perfectly hidden from the others' peeping eyes since their car was at the far end.

Bella Lim stepped back. Mouth agape. Her immediate reactions made Eric Wu smiled furtively.

'What did he say?' Bella Lim cracked her brain as she tried to make sense of Eric Wu's sudden request. She looked at the man and saw the sly smile on his face.

'Is he playing around with me again?' she nibbled on her lower lip. A few strands of hair were disturbing her eyes when a strong breeze went past her. That was when she felt a warm hand tucked her hair behind her ears. Once again, Eric Wu's face was an inch away from hers. His handsome feature plus the serious look he had when he helped her with her hair made her heartbeat drummed wildly.

"I admitted I was being obnoxious. I'm sorry," she heard him said. Bella Lim gulped as she peered on the man's face. However, the heat on her face made her look away. This man was really good at playing with her heart. What was he doing now?

"Bella, get in. The race is about to start," Eric Wu's gentle voice startled Bella Lim who was still shocked by his earlier remark. She looked at the opened passenger seat's door and anxiously went in. When her hand brushed against Eric Wu's hand, the beating drum inside her once again set wild. She immediately settled down and sat on her designated seat without moving.

"Are you okay?" she heard Eric Wu asked from the driver seat. She forced herself to nod. If she didn't show any reaction, she was certain that this man would keep on asking. However, his request made her want to jump out of the jeep wrangler.

"Look at me," Eric Wu requested. His hands were on the steering wheel as his head tilted to face Bella Lim.

"I can't," Bella Lim stiffened. The two words left her lips out of control as she was overwhelmed with everything that transpired from her outburst towards Eric Wu.

"Why?" she heard him asked.

"Are you shy because I asked you for a date?"

Bella Lim jolted as she looked at Eric Wu in disbelieved. How can he ask such a delicate question? She thought to herself.

"How am I supposed to react with the way you act?" she uttered. Her lips trembled a little.

"You really pick the wrong time to say what you want," she bit her lips.

"The time is no wrong. The date is important because I have something to tell you," Eric Wu said. Everything about him exuded a serious aura. Bella Lim saw this and thought that the man was really talking about the truth.

"You have something to tell me?" she asked, hands were holding the seat belt that secured her body. When he saw Eric Wu's nodded his head, a mischievous smile popped up on her beautiful face. She looked at Eric Wu, saying: "I'll grant you the date, but make sure not to become like a woman on period again. Your mood swings are worse than mine," she giggled. At this time, she had managed to contain the surge of emotions that made her whole body out of control. Her heartbeat was beating normally like always.

Hearing her savage remark, Eric Wu was astounded. Not long after, he laughed.

"Is that how you see it?" he asked, eyes looking sharply at the woman beside him.

"Everyone could see it that way," Bella Lim let out a soft chuckle.

"You know...," Eric Wu said. At that time, a man was walking toward the center of the road with a flag on his hand. The man's appearance made the race resembled a real racing car competition.

"Ermm, yes?" she looked at Eric Wu while pointing at the man.

"Nothing, I'll tell you once I win this," Eric Wu replied as he hit on the gas pedal. At the same time, the other two cars were also roaring, eager to go.

"Make sure to win!" Bella Lim suddenly in a high spirit when she heard the competitive roars coming from Lu Fei's and Madam Olivia's jeeps.

"Heh," Eric Wu smirked. "So we can go on a date?" he winked at Bella Lim who then rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, just win!" Bella Lim gave up. It turned out that she couldn't beat Eric Wu's in his teasing game. Nevertheless, it wasn't important at the moment because she was only excited about the race. The scene felt too familiar to her as if she had done a car racing before. Maybe, Sinby Haven would help her regain some of her missing memories...
