The Tao of Jinggong (the foundation in the foundation of Taoism)

Taoist cultivation, in the final analysis, is to cultivate the three inner treasures of essence, energy, and spirit. Therefore, the external posture is not important. It is the greatest principle to be able to achieve the integrity of the head and spine, comfort and nature.

Sit, stand, or horizontal poses, or walks are all right for static power. The main points of the various poses are as follows:

Sitting style, you can sit flat on a stool with your calves perpendicular to the ground, or cross it; you can also sit on the bed cross-legged. If you have difficulty sitting cross-legged, you can put a pillow under the seat first. Fold your hands together and hold your thumbs together to form a Tai Chi figure , Just put it in the pubic area, or caress both knees.

Standing, standing naturally, with both knees slightly bent, both hands stacked on the pubic area, or hanging on the side of the body.

Horizontal type, usually lying on the side, with one hand bent on a pillow, thumb and index finger separated, ears placed at the mouth of the tiger, so that the ear orifices can be opened; the other hand is placed on the hip, or placed on the pubic area; the legs are also stretched and bent. The formula is just the opposite of the two hands.

When walking, you should choose a quiet place with few people, a park or a larger courtyard, without other interference, and the road is relatively flat. Walk slowly, like floating clouds. When walking, you can use the method of listening to breath in meditation, but don't close your eyes.

After choosing a posture, start doing the exercises. For external movements, the main points of practice are as follows:

   (1) Relax the whole body, no matter what posture is taken, the whole body must be relaxed. This relaxation is not a limp. It is necessary to keep the head and spine upright to facilitate the smooth flow of the meridians; but don't become stiff and rigid. On the contrary, it is not conducive to relaxation and will also hinder the smooth flow of the meridians. The approach of relaxation requires the shoulders to sink first.

Ordinary people are usually physically and mentally tense and not aware, and their movements do not meet the requirements of relaxation. Now that we practice Kungfu, we first adjust the movements and naturally enter a state of relaxation.

   (2) Binocular vertical curtain, which means slightly closed. Why do you need to close your eyes slightly? Because opening your eyes is easy to breed distracting thoughts, and closing them all makes it easy to fall asleep, which is not conducive to practicing. The mantra when slightly closed is "open three and close seven", that is, open three minutes and close seven minutes.

The specific methods used to be passed on by mouth before, but here it means that the eyelids are drooping, so that you can see what is in front of you without being able to distinguish clearly.

   (3) The tongue is on the top of the palate, and it is the mouth. On the Dan Sutra, it is also called "Sandui", that is, the mouth is closed. The practice of palate on the top of the tongue was also a secret in the past. The tip of the tongue should be turned upside down, and the underside of the tip of the tongue should reach the upper palate. Because there are two small pits on the palate of people, called "Tianchi Point", the upper pass through the mud pills, the most likely to leak.

Therefore, the practice must be like a baby breastfeeding.

   (4) Natural breath, that is, natural breathing, but avoid stubbornness. As the degree of static strength deepens, the sniffles should gradually become deep, long, uniform, fine, and subtle.

(5) Holding the Jue with two hands, also known as "Ziwu Jue", when holding the Jue with both hands, draw a circle with the index finger and thumb of the left hand, place the thumb of the right hand inside the circle, and place the 4 fingers of the right hand under the 4 fingers of the left hand. Looking from the direction of the thumb, it looks like a "Tai Chi Picture".

In this way, the yin and yang of the human body will be connected naturally. After a while, the hands will feel hot and swollen. It is wonderful, that is, the effect of the two qi. There is no distinction between men and women in Taoism.
