Israel and Ava were currently in a party as they began to methodically kill the Sunkerns that were hopping around the beginner's plains.

There were very few people still here because most players had leveled up and gone on to higher-level areas to fight Pokemon that will yield better drops and more experience points.

Israel dodged a Sunkern that tried to attack him. The Sunkern's only know two abilities from what he could tell.

[Growth] that made them bigger, and [Absorb] which if it hit you would drain your health and give it back to the user.

The Sunkerns were very easy to kill, as their [Absorb] attack was easy to dodge, and their [Growth] just made them bigger targets.

He also figured out that after they used [Growth] if they hit you with [Absorb] it seemed to do more damage, but since they rarely ever hit you it didn't really matter.

He also noticed that Ava's attacks did an incredible amount of damage when she imbued her blades with ice, nearly one-shotting any Sunkern she hit. He thought it was because of her ability was just strong, but when he saw other people who used their water or rock abilities, and they did not do nearly as much damage, however, they received more damage if they were hit!

After killing their fifteenth Sunkern Israel picked up the drops, one copper coin, and a Coba Berry before he stood up from his low stance. He had to bend over to hit the small Sunkerns and it was very annoying. He began to look around for more to kill. Although he felt kind of bad for killing the cute Pokemon, he figured it was worth it in order to increase his strength, they were only AI after all.

"Hey, who is that?" Israel asked as he saw an old lady with a wooden basket and an exclamation point over her head.

"Oh! She is giving out a quest! The exclamation point means that she will give us a quest if we talk to her. Come on let's hurry up before the others do it." Ava said as she began to drag Israel towards the woman.

They arrived before the other teams did who were also making their way over at this point, and they began to talk to the old lady.

"Hello, there miss, what brings you over here out of the city?" Ava said as she talked to the lady.

Israel was confused because normally Ava would be glaring down any woman that was near him, but she was very nice to this woman. 'Was it because she knew it was an AI?' Israel wondered. 'No she was glaring at the women in the city guard earlier. Is it because she is old?'

"Oh, I am just here looking for berries that I can use to make my grandson his favorite Coba pie! I am unable to pick them anymore because of my age, and my son is working right now. Would you be a dear and get 20 Coba berries for me?" The old lady said.

A window popped up in Israel's vision.

[Quest: Collecting Coba Berries]

[Reward: 5 copper coins, 25xp]

[Accepted]

He assumed Ava accepted the quest, because she was the party leader, and he, as one of her party members were also accepted into the quest.

The two of them counted up the Coba Berries they had so far, and they had only six, so they needed to hunt a few more Sunkerns before they could complete the quest.

---

A Sunkern gave a weak cry before it disappeared into particles and two items dropped out from it. A copper coin, and a Coba Berry.

"This is the last one," Ava said as she picked them up with a smile.

The two had killed roughly forty-five Sunkern, and they saw that their EXP bar above their heads was at about ninety percent. It did not give real numbers, but it still showed the progress, because if players are not allowed to see any progress what-so-ever, then most will get fed up of the game, and not play anymore causing the creator to lose users.

"Let's turn in the quest then," Israel said as he handed all the Coba berries in his bag to Ava. This game was also different than normal games because it did not have an inventory. Unless you found a spacial item, you had to carry all your items in the bag on your back. Ava told him that you can buy spacial backpacks from the store, but they were too expensive for them at this moment.

They arrived in front of the Granny and gave her the berries as Ava completed the quest. They were not the first ones done, but thankfully the Granny allowed more than one person to complete her quest.

"Oh thank you, dear, you are the sweetest! My grandson will be so happy!" the granny said and a window popped up.

[Quest Completed]

Israel felt something in his stomach and a slight tingly sensation on his arms and legs. It was very subtle and almost unnoticeable unless you concentrated on it.

"Nice we leveled up!" Ava said happily as she also noticed what happened.

The granny looked at them as she said "Congratulations! Looks like helping me made you stronger! Here are you coppers." she handed them the money and the two thanked her before they began to walk away.

"I think we should fight higher level Pokemon. There are two of us, and just killing these Sunkern solo is not helping very much" Israel said as he was eager to increase his strength.

"You are right, we can double team some pokemon higher level than us, and increase our leveling speed!" Ava said as she led them farther away from the city. They had only been playing for roughly half an hour and had already leveled up to Level 2.
