The next day, Luna went home with Little Amber as soon as her work ended. She removed her makeup and stood under the shower, thinking if she made the right decision to attend Jasper's birthday party uninvited.

The fact that Jasper and Aiko came back and didn't bother to call her had made it clear her presence wasn't welcome.

She leaned her head back as the warm water washed away the sweat and dirt from her skin. She then heard the bathroom's door open from the outside. She shrieked and pulled a clean towel from the rack to cover herself.

Luna stared at the door and saw her husband standing there with a grim expression. His tall figure was steady, but his face was sullen. He didn't say anything so Luna stepped out of the shower cubicle and walked towards him, only stopping when there's a good distance between them.

"What's wrong?" she asked, but he kept his silence.

Instead, he offered his hand and pulled her back to her bedroom until they reached her walk-in wardrobe. Hero let her sit on a stool and impatiently rummage in the closet, fiddling with the hangers before pulling out a lingerie set and cream-colored dress.

"Put this on," he said with irritation.

"Won't you tell me what's wrong?" Luna accepted it with a blush, clearly aware that only a towel was covering her nudity in front of her husband.

"When you left the office, a messenger arrived and sent an invitation letter with your name on it. It was the same invitation the Mo family later sent to their guests. It was from Aiko Chen," Hero said before walking out the door. He was pissed that another woman was daring enough to bully his wife.

'Want to bully her? Then, let's see who'll lose face tonight!' he thought.

Luna checked the dress Hero had given her and shrugged as she thought that she really couldn't understand him at all. Why did he insist on bringing her anyway?

The length of her dress reached above her knees, and it tightly wrapped her body, showing her curves in the right places.

Two people were sitting at the two ends of the rear seat of the limousine. Hero's eyes were closed while Luna chose to look out of the window. Today had been a rainy day. Even before she left for work, it had been raining nonstop.

She had no idea where they were since she'd never been in this district before. High-rise buildings filled her scenery with the black and rumbling sky above them. Corinne messaged her that she'd also received an invitation and call from Aiko, telling her not to miss the occasion.

Her jaws hardened when she heard it. Why did Aiko hold such animosity against her? She'd always thought that she was a good friend, and yet she was just too dumb to realize Aiko had been playing with her all along.

Half an hour later, they arrived at the Saffron Spring Hotel where the venue of the party was. The guard opened the door for Hero. He got out of the car and held out his arm in Luna's direction.

Luna watched his gesture expectantly, and she heaved a sigh. There was an inkling feeling in her heart that she shouldn't be here because she knew… she knew in her heart what awaited her inside. She stepped out and accepted her husband's help, and just like that, the Li couple entered the hotel.

It was only when they entered the elevator did Hero release her.

"I'll be meeting with my business partners around. You go and find your best friend in the crowd. I'm curious to see what kind of show Jasper Mo and Aiko Chen prepared for us," Hero said as he adjusted his collar.

Luna nodded and didn't utter a word.

"Stay with your friend if you must. I don't trust Aiko Chen if you're left alone with her. Joanna will also attend so you may stay with her."

At that, Luna clenched her hand tightly on her clutch bag. Her eyes shone with defiance and anger for Aiko Chen.

"I wouldn't let her step on me again," she said decisively.

Hero chuckled at her words, pleased that his wife was starting to grow some backbone to defend herself. He leaned forward and placed a chaste kiss on her cheek before whispering on her ear.

"That's right. Show them what you got. Show them that my wife isn't easy to be bullied."

Luna turned to face him with a straight face.

"Aiko Chen is below me. She isn't worthy of my time at all."

She saw the smirk that spread on her husband's lips before he parted with her.

The elevator arrived at their floor, and the door opened.

"I'll see you later. Don't go around making a scene, Luna." He threw a side glance at her, and she smiled faintly.

This party was hosted by the Mo family who had prestige in the business world so the majority of the guests invited would attend just to give the Mo family some face. This was also the reason why Hero Li came to attend even if he despised seeing Jasper Mo's face.

When the couple arrived at the hotel, it appeared that many people had already arrived at the party. Luna glanced at the direction where her husband went and saw him being flocked with older businessmen.

"Luna! There you are!" Someone called her name and turned to the direction where it came from and saw her sister-in-law striding towards her with a big smile.

"Joanna…" Luna lifted her lips into a small smile in response. "Hero told me you'll be here."

"Oh? He did? I was planning to surprise you, and yet he ruined my plan?" The woman pouted and then wrapped an arm on Luna's. "Stay with me. My brother is such a demanding person, but it's a good thing you're here. I despise this kind of occasion. Just a bunch of people trying to show off." She scoffed.
