Luna smiled apologetically to her sister-in-law. Somehow, she was relieved that she wouldn't be left alone for tonight.

"I'll be troubling you then, Joanna."

Joanna waved a hand her hand before dragging Luna away from the elevator. More guests were showing up, and it wouldn't be nice to be stuck in a crowd of people at this time.

"Nonsense. You are my sister now, and I prefer your company to others," she said as her eyes swept around them. Her brother suddenly marrying this woman surprised her, but knowing Luna's personality, Joanna could only hope that she wouldn't give up easily on her brother and Little Amber.

"You have to be careful though. Hero informed me about Jasper Mo and Aiko Chen and told me to keep an eye on you. Really though, how come you didn't notice Aiko was stabbing you from the back?" she sounded annoyed.

"Ah, just a moment of idiocy. I should have known she was up to no good." Luna Jiang admitted. She watched the other women moving around or flocking together as if they've known each other for a long time.

It wasn't Luna's first time to attend her ex-boyfriend's birthday party, but she was never introduced to the guests as his girlfriend to avoid Jasper's parents' disp.l.e.a.s.u.r.e. Moreover, she'd attended various parties and events the Jiang family hosted as she was born a Jiang.

Joanna led her to one of the vacant seats and chatted with her animatedly. Some female guests came to greet her, knowing she was the sister of the infamous President Li while giving Luna Jiang an awkward glance, not knowing what her relationship with Joanna Li was before leaving.

"Are you Miss Li's companion?" Luna heard a feminine voice from her right.

She turned her head and saw a woman dressed in a black strapless dress. Her first impression was 'this woman was so pleasing to one's eyes.'

"No, she's my—" Joanna wanted to introduce her as her sister-in-law, but Luna cut her off.

"Hello," Luna nodded politely, "Yes, I'm Miss Li's friend. I'm Luna Jiang."

"Oh, where are my manners? Forgive me for not introducing myself. I'm Jasmine Xuan. I'm also Joanna's friend. Nice to meet you." She gave Luna a toast and smile. "I hope we can also be friends since Joanna rarely introduces me to her other friends."

"Shut it, Jasmine. We've known each other since we're young." Joanna tried not to roll her eyes to her friend.

"Oh, so it's Miss Xuan. Nice to meet you, too." Luna smiled, slightly lifted her glass as her greeting before sipping her drink. It was a good thing Joanna reminded her not to drink alcoholic drinks, or else she would never hear the end of it from her husband.

Aside from her mother, Joanna was the only person who knew about her pregnancy.

Jasmine Xuan smiled in approval. She'd known Joanna Li for several years now, and it was rare for her to make friends with someone.

A few other guests quickly joined in their conversation, but Luna and Joanna barely spoke to them. Noticing that Joanna Li wasn't interested to continue, they left to meet the other guests that had just arrived.

Joanna sighed and leaned on her seat, crossing her legs.

"Finally, some peace for me." She grumbled. She didn't care if she didn't give them face; after all, they were only interested in being acquainted with her because of her brother.

"Right, did you see Jasper Mo's date today? Isn't she the daughter from the Chen family?" Jasmine asked Joanna and had failed to notice the sudden change in Luna's mood.

Luna's right eye twitched. Was Jasmine talking about Aiko Chen?

"Hmm… isn't she Jasper Mo's secretary? Why would I care about Aiko Chen when there's already a Luna Jiang sitting beside me?" Joanna sneered back, which earned a laugh from her friend.

Meanwhile, Luna had a shocked expression on her face. Jasper never mentioned to her that Aiko was working under his wing.

Luna bit her lower lip and kept her silence.

'So it was like this…' She suddenly felt really stupid, not seeing the scene clearly.

Anyway, the Xuan and the Chen families had been after each other's neck for years, and everyone within the industry knew about it.

"Don't forget about me, ah! I'm also here with you!" Jasmine Xuan complained but her face one filled with ridicule for Aiko Chen. She didn't like that woman one bit and found her unbearable to talk with.

Since Joanna didn't want to talk about it, Jasmine guessed she couldn't carry on the topic and dropped it.

"Miss Jiang's ring looks expensive. Where did you buy it?" Her gaze landed on Luna's hand and saw her wedding ring.

Luna blushed as she realized what Jasmine asked. She'd totally forgotten to switch the placement of her wedding ring. Initially, she wanted to remove it tonight, but Hero beat her to it and said she wasn't allowed to remove her wedding ring at any given moment.

Noticing the slight blush on her sister-in-law's face, Joanna understood her predicament. She let out a low chuckle before turning to face her friend. Anyway, she couldn't let Jasmine stay in the dark for too long. Besides, she might be helpful later just in case she and Luna couldn't avoid trouble.

She gestured Jasmine Xuan to move to closer so she could whisper in her hear. Joanna pulled her to the sofa she and Luna were seated.

Luna looked away, trying to suppress the blush that crept on her face. She was really glad that Joanna stepped forward to help her. It was really awkward for her to tell her married status to strangers, much more for Jasmine Xuan whom she'd recently met.

As Joanna let Jasmine know the secret, the latter's eyes widened from shock. Her gaze then shifted to Luna and noticed her flushed face.

"Is she really…?"

"Yes. Why would I lie to you?" Joanna replied, taking a sip from her glass to hide her smile.
