When All Might saw that all of us had quieted down, he shifted his eyes towards me.

"Jin-shounen, I heard from my good friend, Tsukauchi, that you took down a really strong and dangerous villain practically all by yourself? I know that you decided to keep that incident a secret so I apologize in his stead for revealing this information to me. But, don't worry, there is no one else other than myself and Gran Torino who got to know of this, and we won't further spread this information to others. I promise." said All Might apologetically.

"Ah, no, you don't have to apologize for that. It's okay. And it wasn't actually as important as it may sound. I didn't really have taken him down all by myself. It was thanks to the hero team Water Hose who already injured him quite a bit and also tired him out. And along with a good strategy, this outcome might seem easier than it actually was." I answered modestly.

All Might, Gran Torino and the two women smiled at my modest reply, whereas my dad and my grandpa had an incredulous expression on their faces, thinking that I was a completely different person.

My face couldn't help but twitch at this, but I tried my best to not let it be seen on the outside.

"You don't have to be so modest about that, Jin-shounen! According to the report of Water Hose, you showed incredible prowess during the fight and dealt with the villain seemingly quite easily. They gave all the credit to you, so you should be proud of your achievement." All Might said with a broad smile.

I just nodded embarrassedly.

"Okay, let's move on to the next thing.." All Might suddenly became extremely serious.

"What do you want to be in the future? What's your dream?"

I didn't even have to think twice for the answer and immediately replied to his question, "I'm going to become a Pro Hero. In fact, I'm going to become the future Number One Hero, not just in Japan but in the whole world! This could also be my dream at the same time, I guess." I grinned with fierce determination reflecting in my eyes.

Except for my family, All Might and Gran Torino were clearly surprised by my reply and dream. They clearly didn't expect me to confidently declare that I will become the Number One Hero in the future.

After a few seconds, they finally snapped out of their dazes and All Might started to laugh out loud while Gran Torino simply smiled happily at the side.

"GOOD, JIN-SHOUNEN!! That's a wonderful dream you have there, and with your talent and potential, it is certainly possible, HAHAHA."

"I'm actually very happy to hear that. Now that I know that, I have a very serious question for you which might heavily influence your future path. Are you ready for this, Jin-shounen?" All Might looked at me seriously.

I simply nodded in acknowledgment.

All Might took a deep breath and asked, "Do you want to become my successor?"

"..."

The room fell deadly silent again.

My family were clearly confused by what he meant, but I wasn't. I had already somewhat expected for this question to come forth actually, since the moment he revealed that he knew about my battle against Muscular.

Still, hearing it from other people, rather than seeing it for yourself, was different nonetheless. I couldn't really imagine that All Might had decided to take me as his successor just because he had been told about my strength by someone else.

His relationship with my family must have been a very deciding factor for his decision to do so as well, at least that's what I presumed. Otherwise, I couldn't really explain how he could trust me that much without even having seen me once in person.

Probably, my parents must have told him about my strength and my personality when they first contacted each other after All Might found out that the one who took down Muscular surprisingly turned out to be the son of his old friends.

As a matter of fact, there were some recordings from my sparring matches with my parents at our home. It was my dad's idea to record the fights which I could then review afterwards by myself.

This would not only allow me to see the mistakes I might've made during the battles, but also to analyze what I could have done better in certain situations, which would ultimately help me learn faster and more efficiently.

So, maybe All Might had received these recordings from my parents? Or maybe not.. I wasn't quite sure and I had to ask my parents about this after this whole conversation was over..

Anyway, back to the present. All Might's question had really silenced the whole room for a short period of time. It was such a sudden question that came out of nowhere and nobody could immediately react to it.

After awhile, my grandpa was the first to regain his composure and he calmly asked, "What do you mean by that, Toshinori? Why would you ask him to become your successor?"

My parents and my grandma perked up their ears in anticipation for All Might's answer. They were more than curious about this.

And although I knew what All Might meant, I still decided to just keep quiet for now, lest they somehow think I was suspicious.

"Calm down, will ya'. Toshinori, show them your wound and tell 'em your story." said Gran Torino.

All Might nodded and pulled up his shirt and showed us his monstrous injury.

And immediately afterwards, my dad violently stood up and shouted furiously, "WHAT?? WHICH BASTARD DID THIS TO YOU?!"

My dad was clearly agitated and shocked to see such a heavy injury on his old friend. My mother and my grandparents also strongly reacted to this sight, and only I narrowed my eyes at his injury.

It looked really bad and if someone other than All Might would've received such an injury, they would surely be dead already. Only he and his incredible body could withstand this type of injury without immediately dying right after.

Not to mention that he was still sometimes doing hero work once every few days.

"To answer your question, you first have to know about the beginnings of my Quirk, 'One For All', and the greatest evil that had ever existed, 'All For One'.."

All Might took a deep breath and started to tell us about the history of his Quirk and the one who was called the 'Symbol of Evil'.

What surprised me greatly though, was that All Might actually intended to reveal this secret in front of my whole family.

Looking at how All Might hadn't told my parents or grandparents until now, even though they had known each other for such a long time already, it was surprising to me for him to do that, right now.

Even when he passed down One For All to Midoriya, he strictly forbid him from disclosing this information to any other person, including his mother!

It might be due to the trust in their friendship, or simply because of my family's strength, that he was willing to tell us that right here and now, considering that he hadn't even told his long-time and best friend, as well as former sidekick from his college days, 'David Shield', about this secret.

"A long time ago, there was a man with a Quirk that could steal other Quirks and give them away. He was called All For One, well, named after his Quirk. Back then, when Quirks first manifested, while he did use his powers to help people, it was done with ulterior motives and he asked for their aid in exchange for his help. Those who resisted his will were purged."

"He was clearly aware of the conflict between civilians and Quirk users, so All For One utilized it to his advantage to acquire more Quirks and supporters. All For One committed all these crimes while claiming he was bringing order to the world."

"He had a younger brother, who All For One did care about, albeit in a condescending manner. All For One was of the belief that without power, one cannot assert his ideals, and he did not believe in justice or morality, claiming that they do not conform to reality. So, he f.o.r.c.i.b.l.y gave his seemingly Quirkless little brother a Quirk that allowed him to stockpile power within his body."

"However, unknown to either of them, the little brother already had a Quirk with no effect other than that it could be transferred to others. The little brother's Quirk and the Quirk given to him by his older brother merged into one and became One For All."

"After the little brother somehow discovered this, and as someone who had a strong sense of justice, he finally took action and tried to defeat All For One. However, given the huge difference in their abilities, the younger brother ultimately failed. Knowing that he couldn't defeat his older brother with his current strength, the little brother decided to entrust the Quirk to future generations of heroes, hoping that they would cultivate One For All and one day, put a stop to All For One."

"There are only a few who knew the truth about One For All. The Quirk has been passed down through eight generations already, growing stronger with the passage of time. One For All is a power inherited to defeat All For One, so to speak."

"And I am the 8th successor of One For All."

"A few years ago, I had a final showdown with All For One. It was an excruciating fierce and long fight. But, finally.. After seven generations of successors, I lastly managed to defeat him. However, unfortunately, at the cost of this severe wound. Though my arch-nemesis is now gone, the injury I received due to our fight is seriously affecting my body."

*Cough* *Cough*

*Puff*

All Might coughed out blood and transformed back into his skeleton form.

"Like you can see, this is my real form. I'm only able to keep my power form up for just a few hours before I transform back to this form. And it is getting worse and worse over time. Naturally, that's also the reason that I am not that active as a hero nowadays."

"Now that you heard about my story, I ask you again, Jin-shounen. Are you willing to become my successor and the 9th inheritor of One For All?"
