My Life In Blue Exorcist

Chapter 35 - Recruitment

-Rin's Pov-

After I dealt with the Demon called a Banshee, I was ready to withdraw Kurikara and my Katana but I was very quickly greeted by an unknown voice coming from Kage's direction.

(???): "So we have Satan and another Demon here, huh."

I look over to my side to see a middle-aged man wearing the usual black Exorcist Uniform with a pistol directed on Kage's head. I felt anger building up in me again but I stay calm as I glare at him. Although I'm able to summon Kage to my side, then deal with the Exorcist then and there, I choose to wait a little as this is a good experience for Kage.

Kage needs to know how cruel the Order is and this is a perfect example. But even as I think that calmly, I still hate myself for letting Kage get caught by an enemy. I'll kill him.

(Exorcist): "Jeez buddy, hold your horses will ya? One wrong move then I'll blow this chicks brains out."

The Exorcist says that as he puts his hand over Kage's shoulder. I can tell from where I'm standing that the dude reeks with Alcohol and the fact that he touched Kage and has a gun to her head further sealed his fate with no room for redemption.

I'll make it as quick and painful as I can. I was about to make my move until I felt a spike in Kage's Demon Aura before her body started transforming into the darkness.

(Exorcist): "What?"

It seems like the sudden situation and the build-up of stress awakened her abilities of the shadows. That was outside of my expectations but I smile at Kage who appeared next to me before making my way towards the Exorcist who tries to defend himself by firing bullets at me but most of them miss their mark

Again, I could get this over and done with by igniting his entire body in flames but that'll end his suffering a little too quick. Though I have to worry about the Exorcist that are quickly approaching this place later.

I deflected bullet after bullet, slicing a few that I can't escape or may hit Kage before I quickly approached the man and covered his mouth with my free hand that's covered in Blue Flames. The flames do their job of muffling the man's screams but some still manage to come out as he struggles to escape my grip.

He tries shooting his pistol once again but nothing happens as he looks down to see the barrel is melted. Soon despair filled his eyes as I stab him in the gut with Kurikara. I purposely delayed his death until the very last second before ending his suffering quickly as back-up was soon to come through the door. No point in bringing too much attention to myself just yet. Be glad that I don't want to deal with any more nuisance small fry's.

I think that as I warn Kage about the back-up and teleport us away from here as Silver flames appear. Hopefully, this will make it seem that Satan was fighting against an unknown Demon with Silver flames. Hopefully they write off the Exorcists death as due to him overestimating his abilities in dealing with Satan and an unknown Demon by himself. I feel bad for the fool but at the same time, I don't. I can't distract myself thinking about my actions or about every person I kill else it'll slow me down.

Hopefully none of the other Exorcist saw our faces. That was another reason I couldn't let that man live else our lives would've been too Chaotic. I rather have the Chaotic times happen later when I fully develop and train my faction and have decent plans going on in the background.

(Naneko): "Rin?"

Unfortunately, I teleported us into my Dorm room where I failed to notice the people inside. Luckily, three of them already know about my secret but Naneko doesn't. I guess I'll be dealing with her later.

The adrenaline stops as I process the scenes just a minute ago. The look in his eyes… he probably had a family huh. He most likely wanted to have a promotion hence his reckless behaviour of trying to deal with us with only just himself and no back-up. Though I don't feel guilty for killing him, I feel bad for Kage to experience something like that.

I really am useless even though I promised to protect her. I still made her cry.

(Kage): "Everything is alright Tou-san. Thank you for saving me."

I snapped out of my thoughts when I felt Kage wrapped her arms around. It was only then that I noticed that I'm still holding onto her. Haaah, today's been a busy day once again. I need to stay calm. Don't push the blame onto someone else, that was just unfortunate circ.u.mstances. Neither of us are in the right nor the wrong.

Haah, I need to get rid of this habit of blaming myself for everything. Come on Rin, you're not the same useless kid you once was!

(Rin): "Thanks."

I say that with sincerity as I start feeling a little better of myself. Though there's a bit of self-hatred for myself, not much I can do when there are 4 people on the bed waiting for answers

The main one was Naneko who's confused about what happened. She gives me a serious expression compared to her usual carefree one as she waits for my response. Hmm, what answer to give?

(Rin): "Uh… Surprise?"

I say that with jazz hands with a somewhat shocked face as I try to break the tension in the room. Yep, this day's gonna get longer, isn't it?

(Naneko): "Pfft, seriously? Who uses jazz hands these days?"

Naneko breaks out of her serious mode as she laughs at my stupid joke before regaining her serious expression again. Haaah, looks like I can't bullshit my way out of this one, huh.

(Rin): "Yeah, haaah, welp, let's just get this out of the way and say that I'm Satan's Son."

I say that with a neutral tone as I say it as more like a title than a fact. No point in lying since Akane already knows about my secret and this is also an opportunity for an idea I have. Naneko's eyes widen in shock as they look at me in disbelief from what I said. Yep, this is gonna be a long day, ain't it?

(Kage): "Umm…"

While I was busy thinking of a way to better explain my situation, Kage pokes her head up from my c.h.e.s.t as she looks at me with her curious eyes with a question in her mind.

(Kage): "Who exactly is Satan?"

The question caught everyone by surprise as we all started laughing from her clueless face. It completely broke the tense atmosphere before as the perpetrator herself looks around in confusion before having a frown on her face.

(Naneko): "Haha, who's the little sweetheart?"

Naneko says that as she wipes the tears from her eyes. She seems more intrigued than cautious now. Seems like she'll be easier to deal with now.

(Rin): "My new familiar and most importantly my daughter, her names Kage Okumura. Hope you guys treat her well."

I say that with a happy tone whilst giving Kage a bigger hug which surprises Naneko and even Akane. I'm not surprised though since I said it on purpose however my other children react otherwise.

(Midori): "Oh another sibling?"

Midori was the first one to react as he jumps off the bed to get a closer look at Kage.

(Kuro): "Hi, I'm Kuro! Nice to meet you, sis!"

Kuro was a step ahead of Midori as he begins his self-introduction to his new sister. Midori than followed up on what Kuro said with his own introduction.

(Midori): "Oh, I'm Midori! Nice to meet you too, sis!"

They seem energetic about a new family member. I look down to Kage who seems to be processing the new situation but quickly introduces herself to everyone in the room

(Kage): "Hello to both of you two, my names kage. Please take care of me from now, brothers."

Kage says that calmly but the big smile on her face says otherwise whilst giving a small bow. I'm glad that she seems to like the environment I'm giving her. Hmm, I thought she'd say something like nii-chan or nii-san? Oh well.

(Akane): "And the little ones have increased by one."

Akane says that with a somewhat tired smile. Looks like the events so far have been too much for her. Unfortunately, I have a feeling it'll only get worse.

(Naneko): "Does that include you too?"

Naneko says that jokingly whilst giving Akane a head pat. The girl being patted just glares at Naneko but doesn't say anything thanks to Naneko speaking first.

(Naneko): "But let's get back to the topic. Rin, you're Satan's son?"

She questions me once again whilst making a serious face. Hmm, I wonder how many times she'll keep on breaking her serious mood? I feel like it'll keep breaking the more she brings it back.

(Rin): "Yeah, I found out about it recently."

Hopefully, this plan of mine won't backfire too much. My simple answers seems to have opened up more questions for Naneko.

(Naneko): "Uh huh, so why the Silver Flames? Is it a variation of Satan's Blue flames? Also, mind telling us what happened for you to blow your cover to us?"

Naneko says that as she sharpens her gaze as if she's trying to slice me up from just looking but it doesn't have any effects as I calmly answer her.

(Rin): "I went on a mission by Mephisto. While I was scouting the area, I made a contract with Kage before being attacked by a Demon. Afterwards, I had to deal with Exorcists and had to change my flames colours so they won't link it to Satan. But then again, the fight itself made a big commotion and everyone in the area most likely would've seen the Blue Flames everywhere."

I say that with a distant look after remembering everything that happened a few minutes ago. I interrogated a Demon, killed her, then killed a Human, all because they messed with my daughter. Haah, Looks like I've become a yandere father now, huh.

I look at Naneko as she processes the information. Good, looks like my plan might work after all.

(Akane): "Oh, by the way, I already knew about Rin's secret since the beginning of the week."

Akane raises her right hand up to interrupt Naneko's train of thoughts as she said that.

(Naneko): "Eh? How did you find out? Wait, was this when you stayed over at the old boys' Dorm?"

(Akane): "Yep, we fought with each other and I revealed my secret first since my instincts were telling me that I wouldn't stand a chance or have an effect otherwise."

Akane says it with a carefree tone as if her secret wasn't that big of a deal. Naneko seems surprised by this fact but quickly asks me another question.

(Naneko): "Say… exactly how long ago did you find out about your flames?"

Hmm, she sounded like she didn't want to accidentally offend me. This better pay off.

(Rin): "I awakened my flames around two weeks ago. It was just before the school term started and… the time my adoptive father past away."

I say that with a somewhat sad tone as I wonder what life would've been if I had some sort of father figure like Shiro. Well, no point in wishing I could go back in time before I took control of Rin's body.

But damn, two weeks and I've already experienced things the original Rin didn't. Well, plus the few days I've spent in the Pocket Dimension makes that close to a month now. Yep, definitely not your ordinary Blue Exorcist world.

(Naneko): "Oh… Sorry to hear about that… So sweety, are you surprised with your new circ.u.mstances?"

Naneko seems to have picked up on my sad tone as she tries to change the subject. Thanks. She looks at Kage with her curious eyes, meanwhile, Kage seems shy to Naneko for some reason.

(Kage): "Yes…"

Kage says that with a daze as she processes the information I gave them. Another reason I'm even telling them this much is because I want to gain their trust as well as Kage's. Speaking about Kage…

(Rin): "Kage, this might not be the best time to tell you this but your original race was a Coal Tar. When I went to tame them they started to combine into a Koks, a Shadow Demon of sorts, before the Koks transformed into your current form."

I had to tell her this as she has the right to know. Something told me that she's still confused about her existence which does make sense since she was once a colony of mindless Coal Tars. She might hate me after knowing this revelation but I'm willing for her to hate me as long as we can make up afterwards. I rather be honest with the people close to me unless I have to lie.

Though it'll hurt my pride as a father if Kage actually hates me.

I look at Kage in the eyes throughout my talk and even when she became silent. I'm sure the young girl is surprised by the sudden realisation of her origins but her thoughts were soon broken by Midori.

(Midori): "Does it matter what kind of Demon you were before? I was just an ordinary Goblin until father picked me up. The same is with Kuro-nii as he was just a Cat-sidhe before gaining a humanoid body."

(Kuro): "Yeah, we're all in the same boat here. The path we go is something most Demons won't go through but Midori and I are prepared to go wherever father goes."

Kuro and Midori get up from where they were sitting and try to convince Kage to not be shackled by her past. I felt warmth from the fact they cared this much for the family but I know we shouldn't rush her. After all, it's an important moment for her.

(Rin): "Now now, don't rush her with her thoughts. In the meantime, let's get something for us to eat. I used a lot of firepower today so I'm low on fuel right now."

I say that as I rub my stomach before a loud noise came from it. There was an awkward pause afterwards as I awkwardly laugh at myself in embarrassment before everyone else starts laughing up a storm. Once again the tension is broken as we all headed to the Cafeteria after giving some spare clothes to Kage.

(Rin): "So you two brought Kuro and Midori back to the Dorm?"

I left my three Demons kids at the Cafeteria room before heading to the kitchen to make food. Akane and Naneko came with me to help out but I have a feeling that Naneko's here to ask more about my heritage.

(Akane): "Yeah, we got Yukio to let us in the dorm then we started playing board games to pass the time."

Akane says that as she puts an apron on whilst tying her hair into a ponytail. I've never seen her with a different hairstyle but it looks good on her.

(Naneko): "Oh yeah, what kind of mission did you even go on?"

Naneko asks while I boil the rice in the pan. I look at naneko who also tied her hair up into a ponytail with an apron on. Haaah, I knew it, but at least I can continue with the plan from before.

(Rin): "I went on a Mission given by Mephisto to investigate a recent case near the Elementary School. Have you heard of people going missing before coming back a few days later at Crime Scenes?"

I begin it off with a brief description of the initial mission Mephisto gave me before asking them a question. I have to word this next part carefully.

(Akane): "I think I've seen it on the news recently."

(Rin): "Yeah, when I got near there I had a conversation with the receptionist who gave me a weird feeling. Something about her was off so I was hoping to tame some Coal Tars to become spies for me but I threw that plan away once Kage was formed."

Honestly, that was the main reason I went to the alleyway. One of the easier ways of increasing my factions size is by taming more Demons. The fact that Kage was formed was outside of my expectations once again but hopefully, her abilities will still be useful. Well, even if her abilities aren't much, I'm sure she'll have other uses.

(Naneko): "So you planned to use the little girl."

Naneko says that with a glare as she seems to have taken my words wrongly. Yes, I can be manipulative but I'm not at the same time.

(Rin): "Yes and no. Yes, that I want to have more allies but no because I don't want to endanger any of my familiars. After all, I treat them like my children."

I say that with a firm tone as I don't want there to be any misunderstanding with my complex thinking. I'm aware that I'm weird but I don't want doubt to appear in my organisation.

(Rin): "But once I was about to enter my flames to get teleport back-"

(Naneko): "Hold up, you can teleport?"

Naneko says that with stars in her eyes as she seems to have only just realised that I can teleport. Hmm, I wonder why she's looking at me with excitement and expectation?

(Rin): "Yes?"

(Naneko): "Awesome…"

Hmm, seems like Naneko might use some form of blackmail to make me take her to places. Oh well, I don't mind as long as I can get her to do what I want. I think that as I chop the carrots

(Rin): "Well, back to the main point, while I was about to take her back, we got attacked by a Demon called a Banshee who used some kind of sound-based attacks to stun her opponents. I saw Kage crying from having her ears ruptured which caused me to lose control of myself and killed the Demon. Then an Exorcist arrived at the scene and was about to shoot Kage from point-blank range but she used one of her abilities to become a shadow and ran away. I ended up killing him just before arriving at the dorm room."

I gave them a brief summary of everything that happened. The two beside me seem shocked that I casually told them that I killed someone, but this is all so I can ask them for something.

(Rin): "While I was taking care of the Banshee, I found out about a company that wants me, from the looks of it, dead. They, or the individual who ordered the Banshee, knows of my true identity somehow and wanted me dead instantly."

I find it strange that they noticed my identity from just that short interaction. Whoever was the Banshees superior must have some kind of analysis ability, she was probably a familiar of theirs at that, but it makes me wonder why they want me dead?

(Rin): "So I'm a wanted man at the moment, and I'm sure the Order is going to follow up on one of their men being killed while on active. I'm sure they're shitting bricks at their seats thinking that the blue night is going to happen again."

I say that jokingly as I add all the ingredients into the frying pan. The Blue night was the night Satan went on a possessing spree, possessing thousands of Exorcists in an attempt to find a suitable vassal. In the anime, it was to save Yuri whereas it was unknown why he did so in the manga, but then again I've only read up to chapter 112 so maybe that changes?

Seriously though, I wonder how badly the Order will take note of my actions? I wonder if this will be a stimulant for future events?

I put those questions at the back of my head as I turn my body facing the two of them before asking them something important.

(Rin): "I know I'm asking much from you two but are you two willing to join my organisation?"

Yep, I've decided that this is a good point if anything to ask them. The main reason I've said so much is to give them a favourable approach, though I probably shouldn't have mentioned the fact that I killed a human but I don't think they care much.

Afterall, Demons or Humans, they're all the same to me.

(Naneko): "Organisation?"

Naneko was the first to react, she seems to be surprised at how I casually told her valuable information and the request.

(Rin): "Yeah, I plan to make an organisation to deal with both the Demons and the Order. The Order aren't full of nice people they claim to be. The Organisation called 'Glps Ewg' seems interested in me, probably some kind of faction that wants the revival of Satan or probably to extract my flames as a weapon. Maybe making me into a maken since I'm technically immortal."

I give my analysis to Naneko and Akane as I simmer the final touches to the curry. Seriously, I could think of a hundred ideas for their motives but none that are concrete. I still need to learn more about this organisation before coming to a suitable conclusion.

Oh, by the way, there are two types of Makens: the first type is Demon weapons where the Demons is trapped inside of the weapon and forced to use its abilities whenever the user wants to. If you destroy the weapon, you also exorcise the Demon.

The second type are Demon weapons that are given to you by a Demon, most likely a body part of theirs that's transformed into a weapon. Technically Kurikara is a Maken as it holds my Demon heart but my consciousness isn't one with it nor will I die if it gets destroyed.

(Rin): "So what are your decisions? You don't have to agree obviously but I will tell you something I know. The world isn't going to survive if things are left how it is. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone became able to see Demons at that point and do you know what that means? Chaos, mayhem, and destruction all over the world."

I give them some time to think to themselves as I wait for the curry to cool down a bit. Seriously, if my hunch is right, then that means this world might be even more doomed than the original.

It was only a few moments later that Akane spoke.

(Akane): "I'll join."

Akane says it with a determined look but she also has a smile on her face, probably thinking about the battles she'll have. Hmm, I wonder if Akane is secretly a sadist? Oh well, at least I have one of them on board.

(Naneko): "Hey think this through for a second."

Naneko seems surprised that Akane already decided so quickly. I thought this would've been the case that's why I asked them both at the same time instead of asking them one by one.

(Akane): "I did and I've come to the conclusion to join."

Akane drops her smile as she looks at Naneko in the eyes. She has seriousness and stubbornness all over her face as she speaks.

(Akane): "Nano, you don't want the same thing that happened in the orphanage to happen to everyone we know in school, do you?"

Akane uses their orphanage against Naneko as her argument which makes Naneko shake up a little. Hmm, seems like their orphanage had an incident relating to Demons. I guess I'll have to do some research on the two of them, huh.

(Naneko): "Haaah, fine but we're to be allowed to leave if we see it fit."

Naneko says that with a sigh, looks like she's agreed.

(Rin): "Well, that depends. You see, I plan to make it a hierarchical system in my organisation where the higher you are on the ladder, the less likely you'll be able to leave due to the amount of secrets you'll know."

I say that as I make eye contact with Naneko. She seems unfazed by the eye contact as she calmly asks another question.

(Naneko): "So it's that kind of system. Who else have joined you?"

(Rin): "Well, you need to join first before you get any other answers to your questions. You can already assume my familiars are part of the Organisation but I want the others to be hidden for the time being."

No point in telling her any more than she should if she's not going to join. I've already told her more than she should've known.

(Naneko): "Fine, I'll join you for the time being."

Naneko finally replies after a moment of contemplating. Phew, looks like this was easier than I thought it was.

(Rin): "Awesome! Let's hand the curry out."

Looks like I got two more members to join my group. That's one step closer on having my plans achieved. I guess it's time to have everyone combat-ready in case of any attacks. I really need to think about the path we'll be going through. This world doesn't follow just canon so I'll need to be on guard for anything.

(Rin): "Dinner is served!"

I say that enthusiastically as I serve the kids their food before sitting down and having mine. I sat down next to Kage who doesn't know how to use chopsticks nor a spoon so I spoon-feed her for the entire time.

(Rin): "Say 'Ahhh'."

(Kage): "Ahhh."

I ended up feeding her for the whole of dinner, I even forgot about my own food as it cooled down quite a bit but I quickly used my flames to heat it up before chowing it all down. Strange, I'm still hungry.

(Naneko): "I don't know what's weirder: you're obsession with adopting your familiars or the fact you act like a mother."

Naneko says that as I give Kage another mouthful of rice. I'm aware both are weird but oh well. I just want a mother figure, even if it's just me giving my familiars what I lack.

(Rin): "Oh? Someone sounds jealous. Kage's my daughter. No takey."

I say that as I give a hug to Kage who seems too preoccupied with the chopsticks in front of her than to care about Naneko and I's antics. We watched her try using the chopsticks to pick up the leftover rice on the plate before it somehow went flying across the room. We all held our laughs in as we saw the frown on Kage's face as I ended up teaching her the correct posture of using them.

Damn my kids are cute.

(Naneko): "Well, isn't that cute."

(Akane): "Yeah."

Naneko and Akane seem to agree with me as they see Kage try learning to use the Chopsticks. Kage seems to have heard what they said and looks at them once more before turning to me.

(Kage): "I have been meaning to ask this Tou-san. Are both of these ladies my Kaa-sans?"

(Rin): "Huh?"

Kage says that innocently as she tilts her head. The question leaves us all dumbfounded but for some reason, Kuro and Midori were looking at me with anticipation. I wonder what answer they want me to say?

(Rin): "Unfortunately I don't have a relationship with either of them. Tou-san is still single."

(Kage): "Then can't you marry either of them, if not both?"

What's with this kids head? She's too innocent that it's scary. Also, marrying both?

(Rin): "Depends if they feel like it. Would you two care to give me the honours?"

I say that jokingly as I stroke on Kage's head as she cuddles up on me. This is really comfortable and soothing for me but her level of innocence is worrying.

(Akane): "I don't mind."

Akane responds to my joke with a somewhat serious face which surprises me and Naneko, though it seemed to have made Midori happy for some reason.

(Akane): "Can I hug?"

Akane says with her arms open wide for Kage. Kage looked at her in the eyes before jumping into her arms. I don't know how to feel about Akane's answer but that quickly went away when I heard what Naneko said.

(Naneko): "I'll be your Kaa-san as well! Please let me hug you!"

Naneko says that as she gives Kage the puppy eyes. Once again, Kage looks at her deeply before consenting. I noticed that Kage likes to stare into people's eyes before making a decision. I wonder if she's able to see someone's intention through eye contact? Hmm, maybe that's what Kirihime tried doing to me at the Culture Club today.

(Kage): "I will be in your care, Kaa-Sama, kaa-san."

Kage says that with a yawn before falling asleep on top on Naneko. Seems like today's events must've taken a toll on her.

Let's hold off the training till tomorrow then.

(Rin): "Do you mind taking Kage to your rooms? It seems like she's become attached to the two of you."

I say that whilst giving Kage a gentle head pat. She's also using Naneko's b.r.e.a.s.ts as a pillow but let's not talk about that.

(Naneko): "You sure?"

(Akane): "I don't mind looking after her."

Naneko asks me in excitement whereas Akane looks at me in anticipation. Wow, these girls really love Kage huh.

(Rin): "Yep, thank you kaa-sans."

I say that jokingly thinking of what our relationship has come to. Seriously though, this is getting weird, even for me, but it seems interesting to say the least.

(Naneko): "Whatever you say lazy Tou-san."

Naneko rolled her eyes at my joke before responding with her own joke. Ouch, I'm not that lazy. I didn't say that thought though as they already left the cafeteria with Kage sleeping like a koala on a Naneko tree.

(Rin): "Now back to you two."

I wave them goodbye before turning my attention to the two kids next to me.

(Rin): "Spill it out, what was that cheeky smile about?"

They seemed happy about Kage's question and the girl's answers. I wonder what they've been up to whilst I was dealing with the mission?

(Kuro): "I don't know what you're talking about."

(Midori): "Same here, what smiles?"

Kuro and Midori say that with another cheeky smile as they give off the 'I don't know what you're saying' face. These kids want to act innocent, huh. We'll see about that.

(Rin): "Hmm, I remember I made some cheesecake. I've had a busy day today so I think I'll have it all to myself."

I say that as I get up for the fridge which agitates the two of them.

(Kuro): "W-wait up, don't be greedy father!"

(Midori): "Yeah, that's not fair!"

Looks like it worked, now let's get some answers.

(Rin): "Then let's have a fair exchange, cheesecake for the reason. Sounds fair to me."

I have a feeling I know what their answers will be but I want them to tell me from their own mouths.

(Kuro): "Haaah, fine. We sorta want a mother…"

(Midori): "Yeah…"

Kuro and Midori say that with their heads slightly lowered. Haah, I thought so, looks like they have fond feelings of Akane and Naneko. Haaah, these kids. I give them both head pats before speaking.

(Rin): "Look, there's no reason to feel bad for wanting a mother figure. Though I don't feel ready to have a relationship, I'll try my best for you two."

I say that with a gentle smile. These two kids can be so cute sometimes that I just want to spoil them, but in all honesty, having a relationship is something I'm scared for if anything. It's not like how I adopted my familiars, I know none of my familiars will betray me on a subconscious level but I can't feel the same with a spouse.

Haaah, whatever, another problem would be who to pick I guess. I sorta have a thing for all the girls I know so far, excluding the ones from school that live a normal life without knowing the fact that I'm a Demon. I can already imagine the headache I'll face once the truth comes to light so I'd rather avoid that kind of scenario. If I had to choose, it'd be someone who's reliable and is able to defend herself. Of course, I'll make sure to protect her but I can't always be there.

I guess I'll let fate decide for me.

(Rin): "Welp, I need to visit Mephisto for my report. I'll be back soon."

I say that as I surround myself in Blueish Silver Flames. Looks like I can manipulate the colour to some extent now. But it's still not enough to survive.
