Chapter 23 - Training arrangements.

Exiting the warehouse with Keiko, who woke up sooner than anyone wanted, it took about 3 minutes for Yusuke to be forced to explain why she was unconscious in a warehouse after the last thing being remembered by her being approached by Hiei and Knocked out by him.

Apparently Boton and Yusuke can't seem to get a reasonable story out in such a short time. So Rem decides to cut in.

"If you won't tell her I will," Rem says, irritated at Boton and Yusuke trying to hide the truth from Keiko.

Boton frowns. "I don't think that's a good--"

"SHUT IT! I will not have her be useless when she needs to defend herself from demons! This world is too dangerous for that shit! I will train her if I must. But you pretending like this whole situation doesn't exist helps no one. She's already been used as a hostage once!" Rem yells.

"Demons?!" Keiko snaps, "What the heck is going on Yusuke?! I thought this spirit detective business was a normal private detective agency! You told me so yourself boton!"

I frown. "You did what? This city is teeming with demonic activity, and you give Keiko, the person who is literally in love with the spirit detective no information at all?"

Keiko blushes but doesn't deny that she's in love with Yusuke.

"See, if you refrain from telling her any information, she's just going to be a soft target!" I protest.

"HEY! Who is a soft target?! I know aikido!"

I look at her, grimace, and say, "Which is a human martial art for humans who cant fight against demons who have the ability to decimate a team of highly trained JSDF members trained to protect japan in three seconds flat! no, I'll train you and Rem will help!"

Rem bristles at that. "No, I'll train her and you'll help!"

I frown, "How about we both train her equally?"

Rem frowns and crosses her arms. "Fair enough."

"Do I get a say in this?" Keiko mutters.

"If you are going to be dating Yusuke, ms. Soft target, You are going to be trained by the best." I grin.

Boton sighs and relents. "Fine, Fine, but the second I hear of anything nefarious, I'm stepping in! You hear me!"

Boton storms off and Yusuke shrugs, "Hey If you two are training her, mind if I join in?"

I grin, "Sounds good, Maybe I can make you extra useful for the future. Only being able to shoot off 5 Spirit guns in a day is useless, so, I'll help you out."

I grin, as Yusuke is about to protest, but I put up a finger. "Invite to party, Yusuke, Keiko."

A screen that looks like a window from dragon quest shows up in front of all three of them.

"This is our ability, We call it The Gamer, and it allows us to get stronger just by hunting demons."

Keiko is the first to accept, Yusuke also, accepts.
