My New Isekai!

Chapter 20 - The Adventurers Head Back!

I finally made it back to the group of girls.

"Hey, Haru," Kura said. "You took your sweet time getting that item."

"Yeah...I didn't get it," I said, "but wait! Do you have my coin pouch?"

She looked at me confused, "You took it with you, Haru," Kura said.

For some reason, when she said that, my whole world shattered.

"Wait, you don't have it with you," Kura asked urgently.

"No, someone must've stole it," I said, "but I have an idea of who it was."

"Look, I don't want to go on a wild goose chase the whole day," Kura said. "Can we just head back home and get more once we're there?"

"Yeah, I didn't want to in the first place," I said. "It's way too much of a hassle to search for one specific person in this town."

She shaked her head in agreement, "Shall we head back now," Polly asked everyone.

"Yeah," everybody else said.

We all stepped into the wagon, "Hey, we're ready to go," I said to the person up front.

We started moving, and soon enough, hours later, we were in a middle of a field.

"Hey, Haru," Kura said, "are you okay?"

"Yeah, yeah," I responded. "I'm just sad that I lost my thing.

"Oh, you mean the thing you went searching for," Polly said.

"Yeah," I said.

"Oh, I have this little necklace here with me, I saw it on the floor at the entrance to the wagon," Charlotte said, bringing out the necklace.

The necklace itself wasn't anything special. All it was was string tied around a pearl, but, it came from my mom.

My mom's always been there for me. She's never done anything wrong to me. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be who I am today. So, when she gave me that necklace on my fifth birthday, I always treasured it.

"Thank you," I exclaimed, almost tearing up.

"No problem," she said. "I didn't think you enjoyed that so much."

"Yeah, I know. Not like me right?"

"Not the words I would say, but sure," Kura said.

"I cut the conversation after what Kura said, "Hey, we're ready to go now," I said to the person up front.

They shaked their head and we started moving shortly after.

For some reason, it took forever when there was an awkward silence for a few hours.

Suddenly, Charlotte broke the silence, "Hey, Haru," she said, "you said something about your pouch, right?"

"Yeah," I responded.

"Ah, so you got robbed?"

"Yes, I guess."

"Don't worry," Polly said, "it's not like you had a lot of Eris."

I stared at her blankly, "Gee, thanks," I said sarcastically.

Out of nowhere, Kura said, "Hey, guys, we're almost there," pointing towards the town.

"Oh," Polly started, "this is what the city of begginers looks like?"

"Yeah," said Kura.

They just stared at it, for some reason, not surprised at all that it's worse than the capital.
