My New Isekai!

Chapter 26 - An Unexpected Happening for This Unlucky Adventurer

"Well, you gonna tell me," I asked urgently.

"Yes," he started. "Surprisingly, Haru was right last night. He is going to fight them."

"And like you said last night, he's going to be fighting trained persons," Kura said.

"Yes, I know," Kazuma stated, "but, he has that cursed magic, right?"

"Yeah, I do," I said.

"Boom, that's how you're gonna beat them."

"Kazuma, you realize that I pass out after using it, right," I asked.

"Dad, did you really think about this," Kura asked.

"Yes, I did," Kazuma said. "Haru can use his magic on all of them, then, once he does, he runs."

I looked at him, "You realize that it catches up to me faster if I run," I said.

"I know, calm down, that's why when it catches up to you, Kura - hopefully - carries you away," he said.

We all face palmed, "Where am I going to carry him," Kura yelled out.

"Now that part, I don't know."

There was an awkward silence for a good bit, "Let's try it," I said intercepting it.

"Haru..., did you lose your braincells," Kura asked.

I felt attacked, it was like the feeling I felt at the capital.

After thinking for a second or two, I said, "Okay, Kura. I know I don't have the greatest ideas in the world, but I can be smart when I want to."

"I know you can, but, in general, it's a stupid idea," Kura stated.

"Yes, I know," Kazuma said, "but Haru might be right. If we think rationally about this, maybe, just maybe he could win against them!"

"Kura, he might be right," Megumin said. "Kazuma has thought of some plans that defeated most - if not all - of the old Demon Lord Generals."

"Mom, I know," Kura stated, "but, Haru could seriously die for real!"

"What was it you said earlier," I asked. "Wasn't it along the lines of, 'Any adventurers are expected to die at any moment,' or something like that?"

"Don't use my words against me, asshole," Kura said with an angry expression.

"I'm sorry, I mostly said that as a joke," I said.

"Better be sorry," she said.

Okay, she can be scary sometimes. This is clearly one of those times I shouldn't mess with her.

Kazuma spoke up in the middle of our conversation, "Haru, I have more skills to teach you," he said.

"Really," I asked.

"Yeah, just follow me," he said, waking outside.

I complied and walked out with him. He raised his hand towards me.

"Bind," he yelled.

Suddenly, I was wrapped up in rope, and fell to the ground. For some reason, every-time I tried to get out of the rope, it wouldn't work.

"Why can't I get out," I asked frantically.

"I wouldn't try to get out," he said. "I've binded boss mobs with this skill."

"Can you get this off me," I asked trying to stay calm.

"To be honest, I can, but I want to watch you suffer," Kazuma said with a grin.

"C'mon, that's just mean," I exclaimed.

"I know, and I haven't got to do this in a bit," he said. "That's why you're gonna sit there for a while."

I laid there whilst Kazuma went back inside. By the second hour, I actually started to get pissed off. At first, I thought this was a joke, but soon enough, he didn't come back.

After the sixth hour, Kazuma came back for me.

"Hey, how you doing," he asked with a smirk.

"Oh, I'm doing just fine," I yelled sarcastically.

"Why the attitude," he asked.

"Oh, I wonder," I said. "Maybe it's because you left me out here for six hours - oh and I did count them all. Minute by minute."

"Yeah, I might have went a little overkill there, but no hard feeling, right," he asked.

"You know what," I started, "just because you admitted to your wrongdoings, I'll forgive you - is that what you think I was going to say? I. Am. Pissed. Beyond. Human. Comprehension."

"Wow, okay," he said. "I'm going to unbind you, but don't do anything or...just don't do anything rash."

"Sureeeee," I said sarcastically.

Kazuma un-binded me, and I held in the urge to give him a piece of my mind.

"Look at your adventurers card," he said. "You should have Bind on there."

I brought out the card, and looked for the Bind skill, for some reason, there was also a skill called "Drain Touch," and "Enemy Detection."

"Why is there a skill called 'Drain Touch' on here," I asked.

"Hmmm," he said, "I didn't show you the skill, so I don't know why you have that."

"Me neither," I responded. "Should I learn it?"

"If you want," Kazuma said. "That skill is out of my 'pay-grade' currently. I haven't used it since Darkness disappeared.

"What about 'Enemy Detection," I asked.

"Oh, yeah," Kazuma started, seeming to remember, "I used it near you, so you should be able to learn it."

"Okay," I said, learning the skills.

Once cl.i.c.k.i.n.g confirm, I felt it go through my DNA, and change it to match the powers I just obtained. How many skills does that make this now? Seven (including 'Cursed Magic')?

As I was thinking, the Enemy Detection skill went off. There seemed to be three enemies nearby.

"Get inside," Kazuma exclaimed.

"Why," I asked.

"Just do it," he hurried.

Kazuma seemed to look more frantic than any other time when he was telling me to hurry inside. Then, once inside, I found out why.

Three masked men walked up to Kazuma, "Have you seen a brown haired man with black eyes, around 5'6, and had the ability to kill a Demon Lord General in one hit," one of the men asked.

"No, sir," Kazuma said to the men. Hiding his lies cleverly.

"Okay, we're gonna keep looking around," they stated. "Tell us if you see the man we are looking for."

Kazuma nodded, and turned around and started heading back towards the door.

Then, I, at a clear viewing point, saw something from one of the men. He got out his sword when Kazuma turned around. He charged at Kazuma.

Once I saw this, I freaked out. Quickly, I jumped outside and pushed Kazuma out of the way. While doing so, I got slashed in the right forearm.

I screamed in pain, blood was oozing out of the wound like water in a waterfall.

Every single curse word there is came out of my mouth in pain.

"There he is," one of the men stated towards the leader of the group.

The man who slashed me sounded pleased with himself as he raised his sword again, above me.

Is this how I die (again)? For some reason, this felt more real to me than dying by the truck (truck~kun) in my original life. Soon enough, he swung down.

Then, everything froze. The blood that made it's way out of my body was frozen in the air. Even the blood not outside my body seemed to just halt.

"What is happening," I asked myself. Hearing echos off into the distance.

"You're - for some reason - in my plain," a females voice said.

This person's voice sounded extremely familiar. So, I tried to look for them. Then, I saw her, the red haired lady I met at the capital.

"By meeting me, you seemed to unlock the ability to freeze time, but only only in dire circ.u.mstances," she said.

"Wait," I said in confusion, "so your saying that currently nothing is happening?"

"Precisely," she stated. "But, this is weird, nobody has ever been able to freeze time like I do once meeting me. Not only that, but not be able to control it. Only people in my family could use this ability. Explain, how are you different from other people?"

"I don't get what the question means," I said. "The only thing I did was ask you for help with a necklace and that's it. We exchanged a couple of sentences, but that's all."

This was making me even more dizzy than I was before the time stopped.

"Whatever, we don't have all the time in the world. (Haha did you get the joke? Not funny? Oh..okay.) Think of a plan to save yourself from this mess. You have twenty seconds before time continues itself. Back in that position you left off," she stated.

"Okay," I said whilst rubbing my chin.

How do I save myself from this mess. Then, I realized.

"His sword," I exclaimed.

I looked at the trajectory of his sword, then I did some mathmatical equations in my head.

If I tilt my body 49° to the right, and put pressure onto my wound, I might be able to take them all out in three consecutive binds - that's only if I don't pass out from blood loss.

That was all in the matter of thirteen seconds. I got prepared in those seven seconds and was ready immediately for when it went back.

As soon as it went back, I tilted my body the degrees necessary (barley able to move my arm at this point). I jumped up and pushed the assassin out of my way, then the plan went to a blank.

Because of this, I knew I was gonna pass out soon, so I yelled, "Bind! Bind! Cursed Magic!!"

Once etching out the last words. I passed out from blood loss.
