My New Isekai!

Chapter 44 - This Adventurer May Not Be so Lucky!

Quickly enough, we made our way and booked a wagon for tomorrow. All of the ones for today were all booked.

"Well, shall we meet up here tomorrow to begin riding to Elroad," I asked Polly and Charlotte.

"Yeah," Charlotte announced for the half of the two sisters.

"Okay," I said. "Kura and I are gonna head back, you may do what you want. Let's just meet each other here around seven in the morning."

"Okay," the three girls said.

"Kura...you're coming with me, you didn't need to say 'okay,' as well," I said to Kura.

"I know," she said.

"Sureee," I said sarcastically. "Come on, let's go."

Kura followed me on our way to Kazuma's mansion. On our way though, Kura suddenly spoke out, "Do you even know how to gamble?"

"I do, actually." I said this, but completely forgot for a second.

"Okay, tell me then," she announced.

Um...this isn't good, I have to think quickly. "Um...only gamble money you don't care about losing…?"

"Oh my god…!" Kura waved her hand in front of my face, "Listen here, you might be right about that, but that's not all. You have to stay calm when gambling, if your opponents find out you're at a disadvantage, they'll exploit that and use it against you. Next, don't be too sure you will win a bet. If you think you have a 100% chance of winning, don't take it. If anything, you have a fifty-fifty chance of winning or losing. You have to play safe. Another is you shouldn't be distracted by people around you. If you are on a winning streak, don't try to act cool and bet a high amount of money. You will most likely lose because of that. So, focus on the game and no one outside the game. There's multiple more, but they mostly have to do with money, and I'm pretty sure you know how to manage money. And the final way to gamble is to enjoy yourself. Be confident."

This overloaded my brain. "Okay, I got it. But how do you know so much about gambling?"

"Kazuma went to Elroad once, he also gambled as well." Kura said this, but didn't like that she knew this by the facial expression she was making.

"Makes sense, I guess?" To be honest, I never really gambled online or in real life. Yes, I did have extreme luck, but not good strategy skills. I'm gonna need to work on them. "Well, anyways, you ready to head back?"

"Yes," Kura said.

We started to continue our way back. And barely talked on our way back to not stop each other from getting to the destination.

We soon made it back, even though it was extremely awkward.

"Well, Imma pack up for today." Kura said this while walking towards her room.

I waved her goodnight.

I soon followed her example and headed into my own room as well.

I walked up to the bed I slept on, and got on my hands and knees clenching my hands and head on it. "I am going to miss, old buddy."

As if someone came in my room, I heard a males voice. Kazuma's to be exact. "Are you good? Get your a.s.s up."

Not expecting to hear his voice, I jumped up in surprise. "W-w-what are you doing in here Kazuma…?"

"I've come to talk to you about 'this'."

"What do you mean?"

Kazuma soon pulled up the quest paper that Kura brought home. "Elroad, huh?"

"Yeahh…" I was embarrassed, but soon remembered he went there.

"Gambling city, God. Some good and bad times over there."

I let out a huh! in surprise.

"Oh, it's nothing, just remember my little sister, and how we had to be her bodyguards at Elroad."

"Wait, really?"

"Yeah, it's been quite a bit since I've visited Elroad. Almost the same as the capital now that I think about it."

"Why haven't you been there." I asked this but was hesitant to actually hear the answer.

"Oh, yeah, I stole something, something important."

"You're a dumbass, right?"

"Hey… I wasn't the only one to steal it. An old friend helped."

"Old friend?"

"You don't need to know," Kazuma said with a straight face.

"Well, why did you come here of all places?"

"I wanted to beat your a.s.s in Poker. Nothing else." He said this with a c.o.c.ky punchable grin.

"Okay, let's duel!" (Yu-Gi-Oh reference.)

Kazuma and I went down to the living quarters and he set the cards down. He started shuffling them as well.

"Because I'm such a nice guy on noobs, I won't use cheats against you."

"Wait...what…?"

Kazuma then began to absolutely best me for the next five games.

After the sixth I yelled out, "How many times are you going to have the best luck in the world?!?!"

Kazuma laughed, "I'm glad I can finally do this again. I think I've been too nice to you for the last couple of weeks."

"What do you mean by that…?"

"I think I've just been nice enough, so get ready to be bested!"

I gave a completely blank expression. "I'm going to bed now. I think beating my a.s.s in a card game really killed me."

"Don't be like that!" Kazuma said this while laughing. "Well, have a good sleep, Haru. You'll need it for tomorrow."

"Night, Kazuma."

"Night."

I walked into my room, and got onto my bed. I Soo fell asleep quickly after.
