My Princess In The Golden Cage

Chapter 1 - Battle of life and death

(Somewhere in the forest, outskirts of the Capital city.)

The sky was hidden behind the black clouds as it seemed to be pouring out the grievances for certain someone who was currently stumbling its way to the top of the hill. The depression beneath now turned into small pools while the leaves rustled and swayed violently with the guidance provided by the strong wind but this wasn't the end, there was some more to it. The silhouette staggered its way deeper into the dark forest. The temperature plummeted further as it moved into the thick dark place.

Drenched in the heavy downpour, blood trickled down from the forehead to the covered parts of the face. A pair of deep ocean-blue orbs surveyed the area as it moved, slowly as time passed by, the vision in the front grew blurry but the crackling sound of the thunder jolted it up and helped it remain persistent throughout the journey. Each step displayed its determination and anxiety to sprint away from the clutches of that formidable man.

With swirling thoughts inside the mind, halfway through the journey, the figure failed to notice the peculiarity in the surroundings. The stinging sensation in the abdomen and above made it inhale a sharp deep breath. Slowly the pain spread throughout the body making it unable to endure. Raising its head, the corners of the lips curled up slightly.

Just as the feet touched the surface of the ground it began to shake indicating an incoming landslide before it knew what happened the soil beneath the feet swept away making it unsteady and impossible to stand still.

The silhouette lost its balance and fell on the ground before rolling down the hill along with the huge mass of soil, soon the figure reached the edge of the cliff.

The bloody pair of hands tried to hold the edge desperately but couldn't. The body flew downward, eyelids seemed heavy but the images of the dreadful past swirled inside. Unable to register the happenings, it slowly shut its eyes and fell into deep slumber before colliding with the surface of the river. The impact caused by the collision was a heavy splash, soon the body sank deeper before it touched the ground.

Meanwhile, across the river, a group of men donned in black outfits covered from head to the toe were busy surveying the forest for god knows how long.

When suddenly one of the men heard a soft splashing sound from the river.

"Sir! I think I heard something." He said while pointing in the direction of the river.

"Take a few men and search the place. Call him if you find anything." Pointing at the young man standing beside him, he spoke coldly. Even though his face was hidden in the shadows, one could tell from his voice and personality that he wasn't someone to trifle with.

"Yes, sir." Although his voice was cold, his subordinates were used to it.

(FEW MINUTES LATER)

His assistant stared at his ringing phone before picking it up.

"We found a female body in the river." The man reported.

"Alive? Or-" the assistant raised his head and secretly tried to peek at his boss. Just as his eyes fell on him, he noticed the increasing frostiness on the face and immediately gulped down his words of inquiring.

"Faint pulses." The man replied on the other side.

Without waiting for the two, the man paced out from the dark and ordered in a tyrannic expression.

"Take me there." Hanging up the call, both paced out of the place in the direction leading them towards the river.

Arriving at the place, a pale face came into their sight. The assistant gaped in astonishment as he examined the beauty lying on the ground.

Her complexion was pale while her body looked fragile like glass but that didn't reduce her beauty. She looked akin to a deity.

Displeased at his assistant for ogling at the lady, he coughed loudly reminding his presence to him before pacing forward.

Watching her paled face and bruises covering her body, his heart ached. Recollecting the earlier occurrence, his aura turned cold while his eyes expressed a murderous intent in them.

"To the hospital." He spoke in a voice that could spread chills down the spines. Then he squatted down slight before picking the woman up in his arms and rushed out of the forest.

" Yes." They walked out of the forest to their vehicles.

The man carried her gently in his arms, stepped into the car before driving to the hospital. Throughout the way, his eyes never left her beautiful face as he recalled the way she smiled at him before dashing away earlier.

Just a little distance away, few pairs of black orbs were observing the whole scene.

"What should we do now?" a woman in a black outfit similar to those people asked anxiously.

"I'll follow them, as for you three, come up with a way to get her back and arrange a place for us to stay." He sounded extremely worried.

" I told you, we should follow her. Look at what happened now." Another woman dressed in a seductive outfit said. Her voice was laced with concern and anger towards her fellow members."You know I can't predict the future, I never knew this would happen. I didn't know about the traitor." He said, his eyes filled with unspeakable fury.

"Stop arguing now! Hurry up and follow them. We don't have much time left. The other party has already begun its search and this time if she's found....you all have to bear the consequences." A bulky man walked out from the glooms.

Unlike the others, he looked extremely calm and rational.

"Alright then! You keep an eye on the devil. I and Ava, we'll follow them. As for you, arrange for a place." as she stood up with the other woman in dress and hurriedly left to follow the cars.

"What now?" The skinny man asked.

"Do as she says" with that said, the bulky man sauntered away to complete his task.

"Alright."

"Well, to be honest, I don't think she'll survive for long. She's heavily injured and was stabbed in her vital parts. She's only left with two options, either she turns into a vegetable or even if she wakes up, there is a huge chance that she might suffer from amnesia." The doctor glanced at the lady through the glass window and felt pity for her. Even though he treated several critical cases in the past, the current one looked quite inhumane to his eyes.

Sighing inwardly, he thought, 'Which big t.h.i.g.h did she offend to have ended up in this state.'

Her whole body was covered with bruises and deep wounds. The deep stab just above her abdomen was still bleeding slightly.

"Okay." His face was devoid of any expression. If one didn't know any better, they would've thought that he was conversing with the doctor regarding a few trivial matters.

He peered inside the room and said to his assistant," Find the best doctors for her and increase the security around the ward. I don't want any mishaps to happen." His voice was even frostier than his expression.

The voice flowing out from his throat was as cold as antarctic which weakened the knees of his assistant resulting in its trembling slightly. Extending his hands, he gently nudged the door open.

He raised his head caught the sight of the tall woman lying motionlessly on the mattress wrapped in bandages and plasters, fighting a battle of life and death. Her skinny body coupled with long legs, her pointy nose, and plumpy lips were a sight to behold, Her medium-length hair was spread on sides. Her thin eyebrows and thick double eyelids gave off an illusion of fluttering butterfly. She was akin to a goddess of modern time with those shockingly gorgeous facial features and perfect physique, she could conquer the world with her beauty in a snap of her fingers.

He stood on the side of the bed staring her in a trance and fell into deep thoughts while looking at her innocent face which was masking-up the beast within her.

Her movements earlier while battling were smooth, merciless and swift, it gave off an impression of a veteran, something which attracted his attention towards her. He wanted to know more. She was his savior and his long-lost obsession. A strange feeling inside his heart urged him to capture her and lock her up in his cage of wealth and fame.

He badly wanted to possess every inch of her body, mind, and soul.

He never believed in love, for him it was just another way to waste one's precious time. He never believed in marriage, to him it was just a form of transaction but now he felt something unusual, something changing within him at her sight.

He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he failed to notice the presence of another person in the room.

A light tap on his shoulder woke him up from the stupor, turning around he glanced at his assistant

"Sir! We need to go. The company is in turmoil, the higher-ups are waiting for you to arrive." He said.

After a few minutes of silence, his mouth parted

"Alright." He glanced at her for the last time before turning away.
