My Princess In The Golden Cage

Chapter 2 - Mission escape(1).

Just after they exited the establishment, two figure donned in normal civilian clothing walked in.

They gazed at each other with a knowing look before walking into different directions.

Ava strolled in the direction of the elevator while Stephie moved into one of the rooms on the floor.

(After fifteen minutes of waiting.)

"What did you see?" Stephie inquired as he sat on the stool sharpening her dagger.

"Heavy security. The last two rooms are heavily guarded and I believe that she's being treated in one of those two rooms." the other said while grimacing.

"What about the staff?"

" Everyone has to go through a check before begin sent inside. It's an impossible task if you just want to bring her back like this." She sighed and sat down on the stretcher while her eyes roamed around the shelves filled with medicinal stuff.

Hearing her sigh, she raised her head slightly and gazed at her before calmly saying, "Listen, Ava, Go put on that uniform," She pointed at the nurse lying on the stretcher.

Earlier when she walked into the room and saw the nurse occupied with work, an idea dawned on her. Without any hesitation, she strolled forward and knocked her out before leaving her body on the stretcher.

"What? No! Look at this...It's too old-fashioned. Get me one of those costumes from cosplay." Ava looked at the uniform and pinched the hem of the cloth before turning away in disdain.

Her expression deteriorated even more after sighting the face of the owner of the uniform.

Looking at her infuriating act, her brows knit tightly. Raising her voice to a notch, she said "Ava!"

" Fine." Rolling her eyes at her elder sister, she saunters forward before slipping into the uniform.

" I'll wait here. Be quick" She glanced at her younger sister, who was busy setting her hair with a mask on.

She wondered, ' With this pace, she's gonna do it forever.'

Observing her repeat the same action time and again, the veins on her forehead protruded out of annoyance. She stretched her hand to grab her wrist and then shoved her out of the room.

"Gosh! Why did you push me? Tsk" Stumbling out of the room, she clicks the tongue in annoyance. Staring back at the door, she shrugs the shoulders before regaining her composure and strode leisurely to the top floor in her disguise.

Throughout the path, her eyes kept shifting from one corner to the other, inspecting every inch of the place as she paced behind the staff.

Just when she thought that the plan had succeeded, the guard standing behind voiced out, "Stand right there."

The victorious smile plastered across her face behind the mask froze at the abrupt call. Calming down, she prepared herself for all the possible outcomes. Turning around she asked, "Yes?"

The guard peeked at her badge. After ascertaining the person ahead was the one he was looking for, he said: " Miss, you dropped your ID in the elevator." Placing the ID in her palm, he couldn't help but study the person in front and the picture printed on the ID.

"Women these days love going under the knives... No wonder I found her unfamiliar." The guard mumbled as he slightly shook his head before he left.

Hearing his ridiculous remark, her under-eye twitched violently.

Originally, Ava was an extremely charming woman, who loved to flaunt her beauty. She was among the group of individuals who loved their natural skin and felt undergoing surgery was a taboo. So when she heard him make that remark, the veins on the forehead almost burst out as she had a strong urge to strangle the man.

Overcoming the vigorously burning fury inside her heart, she thanked him and turned away.

'Stupid man! Is he blind? Can't he see my natural skin? How could he insult this goddess? I hope you never find a girlfriend in your entire life...even if you do I wish she could chastise you forever.' She cursed the clueless man in her heart perpetually.

Just after she reached the door, she took a deep breath to calm herself down before stretching her hand to open the door.

Peeking in, her sight fell on the beautiful figure, sleeping peacefully that was unlike her usual self, her eyes welled up which was quickly wiped using the corner of her sleeve. Glancing around the room surreptitiously with her hawk-like eyes, she noted down a few things in her mind before striding and mingling with the staff inside the room.

(After an hour)

Ava sauntered back into the room.

"So?" Sitting on the chair with her hands busy playing with the dagger, she asked.

"I have a plan." She said as she smirked evilly.

Meanwhile, on the other side

(One of their bases in Imperial City.)

"Sir, no one's suspicious so far, her disappearance has nothing to do with our men." Bowing his head, he reported to the person perching on the throne with his eyes shut.

Previously at the scene, when they came to blows, no one noticed that a certain someone had deliberately caused them to rush off their feet with their enemies so that the person could get a chance to flee. Later as they realized, it was already too late.

The chamber fell into eerie silence. Occasionally, the sound of fingers tapping the surface echoed in the room.

The people inside the room had experienced everything in their life, from being alive to being tortured or almost died in the next second but this current situation was something they wished to never be in.

To them each second was torturous, the feeling of being strangled grew within them. Gradually, they tried to minimize their presence in front of the demon. His silence alone was intimidating.

The harmless-looking man with a light scar on his left eye and blonde hair slowly opened his eyes. He looked evil but also alluring. His emerald-colored orbs were captivating, he exuded a sinister air. His presence was alarming, giving out a strong sense of danger to the people around.

His gaze landed on the man before him and his sight slowly swept on the members in the hall.

After a long moment of silence,

"I want to know everything that happened including her recent visits and activities before sunset." Then without waiting for them to respond. He stood up from his seat and strode out of the chamber.

Footsteps echoed in the quiet hallway, the mansion oozed of luxury and extravaganza. Lights were brightly lit, huge portraits hung on either side of the hallway, floors were covered in the red carpet, The corners were spotless and neat making it look sparkly and bright under the golden rays. He passed by many doors before reaching the one at the end of the hall. Extending his hand to the door, he twisted the knob before pushing it slightly.

Stepping into an elegantly designed room. His vision fell on the huge picture of a woman dressed in white with an innocent smile. Her smile was pure and carefree. The massive bed in the center was stuffed with soft toys and cushions, enclosed by a pink canopy. The floor-to-ceiling window on the left offered a magnificent view of the backyard filled with different species of roses, lilies, orchids and many more. The ruby red roses were planted in the center of the backyard in the shape of a heart. The fluffy white-furred rabbits ran around in the yard, The huge pond was filled with white lotuses and few swans swam around happily while the birds perched on the branch of the tree as they chirped a few melodies.

The overall atmosphere in the backyard was filled with warmth and harmony. Pacing forward, he stood before the portrait.

"Why?" His vision sparkled with emotion which was never seen before. Raising his hand, he traced her face with his finger, from her hair to eyes then the tip of her nose and paused at her lips. He stroked the place with affection and love in his stares.

"No matter where you go, I will find you and bring you back. You only belong to me." His vision exuded intense possessiveness for the woman in the portrait.

After exiting the hospital, they drove back to the company. Standing in the balcony, he gazed at the sea ahead while his mind was occupied with the images of the woman.

"Sir, Dr.Arnold's on his way. He'll be here before sunrise." His assistant said before glancing at his watch and sighed

'I haven't had my goodnight's rest and it's already half-past two.'

The man hummed in response and turned back his focused to the tides.

After a few minutes of silence, he turned slightly and asked, "How's her condition?"

This time his voice had a tinge of concern and gentleness in it.

The assistant gaped inwardly but appeared calm on the surface, he answered: "Still the same."

He badly wanted to display his shocked expression but couldn't because he was afraid of becoming a subject of wrath to the demon.

'Damn? Does he even have this side to him?' Although his expression seemed stoic from afar, if one observed properly they could spot his widened eyes.

He silently stood there watching the back of his boss before deciding to leave.

"I'll take my leave now." Just as he said, he heard his boss.

"Wait!"

"Yes, sir."

" I want to know every little detail about that woman by tomorrow," He said in a calm voice after moments of hesitation.

"Sure, sir." Then he left.

Turning towards the mirror, his deep blue eyes gazed at his own reflection. Raising his hand, he adjusted the glasses perching the on his sharp-pointed nose before stroking his edgy chin, his narrow thin lips curled up slightly. He radiated an air of aloofness, just like the chilly wind in the winters and frozen water in the pond, he looked cold and distant.

His short hair swayed in the direction of the breeze making it a little messy which enhanced his charm. He oozed of wealth and power. His pale skin complimented his black stud on his earlobe.

Closing his eyes, he recalled the image of that particular woman, "Woman! What've you done to me?" He muttered under his breath, with a glint in his eyes the corner of his lips turned even wider.
