My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Chapter 13 - All I think about is you

The work was all normal for Jess. She had very well got accustomed to the ways of her boss. She saw did not even try to meet him. It was a relief that she did not have to accompany him or face him. She had seen how all the employees had a fearful expression on their faces before entering his office and a defeated expression when they left. She was very thankful that she had a tablet and whenever she had to pass anything personally, she would pass it though Mr. Cox, he was always present there to help her out.

John was very sad. He particularly had a dangerous aura surrounding him today. All the employees had to face his wrath in the morning meeting. They were all wondering what had happened to make their boss this scary. In the end, all they could do was listen to harsh words silently.

When he reached his office, he looked towards Jess's desk and noticed that she was engrossed in her work, she did not even look up to acknowledge him. 'Interesting' he thought.

He entered his office and texted her to bring the physical copy of the revised version of the contract with the investment firm. After a short while he heard a soft knock on his door.

'Finally she came, lets see what she will do' He thought about asking her about the date.

"Hello sir this is the file with the revised conditions"

He was disappointed. The person who came with the file was none other than Mr. Cox.

"Why are you here with this file? I had asked Je- 'cough' Ms Blevins to get it"

"Sir actually you do not like when other 'people' are around you so I brought it for you"

He had a faint smile on his face. She was interesting. All other employees didn't spare a chance to get to see him, they find reasons to enter his office and here she is, all uninterested. He was convinced that she had no idea that he was her 'fiance' .

"Thanks for passing this file"

Jessica was patiently waiting for Mr. Cox to return and give her feedback. She looked up and saw that Mr. Cox was coming out.

"Jessica it is all done"

"Thank you Mr. Cox"

The day went by very quickly for them.

On his way back home, John's thoughts drifted as he thought about his first meeting with Jessica.

One month ago, Sydney

John had decided to take a break as he had finally made a good deal for the company. To achieve this he had word hard for two weeks without rest. His friends decided to meet at a popular bar and let themselves lose.

'Some keep a diary

Seems like a fantasy

But it may require some love and d.e.s.i.r.e

It's something to cover me

There's never a guarantee

That loving is so easy

Some may define it as sugar and brownies

But sour just as lime is

Son of the ocean breeze

Somewhere you promised me

A love like a fire, no fears, no denial

Just something to gladden me

I feel electricity

Your lighting is guiding me

I fear that I like it

No place we can hide it

So hard not to find it'

He identified the song to be titled Sugar And Brownies by Dharia. He found it quite strange on the choice of song being played in there. Upon further asking the he came to know that a customer had requested to play this song near the booth.

It was at this time that his eyes fell on a lonely creature at the corner of the counter. She looked like an fallen angel, he was immediately drawn to her.

Jess was very sad that day. It was the very day she had decided to fully commit to her relationship, but received a huge shock. Despite all his efforts to stop her from going away, Jess decided to be alone and sort out her feelings about this matter.

Jessica was sure that what she felt towards him was love but she hoped that it would eventually change with time and she believed that he loved him so was ready to give it all a try, but after the incident she started regretting all her decisions. She felt a deep pain in her c.h.e.s.t due to suppressing her feelings for so long, all she wanted to do was forget about everything and she decided to come her and drink all her sorrows.

While Jess was lost in her own world in the corner, John slowly approached near her and sat at an empty seat beside her and ordered some drink. From the corner his eyes he saw that she was sad, her beautiful brown eyes were dark with a tinge of sadness. After seeing this, he had an sudden impulse to pull her into his embrace and assure her that he was there for her. He was himself shocked for having such thoughts about a mere stranger.
