My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

John could not believe that he had such strong feelings towards a woman, and at this moment towards a stranger. He decided the best would be to slowly strike up a conversation.

"Hey, you look like you are in a mood."

It was then Jess realized that someone was sitting beside her. Without turning to look at him, she just twirled the drinks in her hands. She was already very drunk and did not want others to bother her.

"Hmm... I... am."

On hearing her reply, he immediately realized that she was wasted and it was probably not safe for her to intoxicate herself anymore.

"Miss, would you like to take some rest?"

"Rest? Yeah, I.....Would love that" Jess finally looked at him and stood up. As soon as she stood up, the alcohol took its effect, and she lost her balance.

"Aaaahhh"

Before she could fall, John held her up and supported her. The gravity of the situation finally struck him. He took out his cellphone and asked the driver to prepare his car.

"Where do you live? I will drop you safely,"

"Live? I do not want to go there. Nope, I am not going there,"

"But you need to rest, so tell me your address."

"I do not have a place to stay. I do not know where to stay."

He had no choice but to drop her off at a hotel.

He took her to a hotel and asked the hotel staff to help her change and prepare a hangover medicine for her.

Upon seeing him leave, Jess softly called him. "Are you leaving me here?"

"Yes, Take a good rest and I will come to meet you tomorrow. May I please have your name?"

"Its....." John's phone started ringing. It was a call from his friends, he had left the place without informing them.

"Yes John speaking"

"Where did you run off to?"

"I ran to some problems so had to take leave"

"Oh, so where are you? Are you coming back here?"

"I do not think it will be possible. Let us meet next time. I am stuck here so I will talk to guys later bye" He turned to Jess and said, "Yes you were saying"

He saw that she was already fast asleep. He went near her and adjusted the pillows so it is more comfortable for her to sleep, then he called the room service and asked to send a female attendant.

He instructed the female attendant and left the hotel, in hopes to get her name and meet her early morning the next day. But...

'Ring ring'

This damn phone. His beautiful thoughts were interrupted by a call. He just could not stop thinking about her, her sad eyes had etched a mark in his heart.

"Hello"

"Hey, John why do you sound so angry? Were you engaged in a fight right now? You do not sound good."

"Nah. I am just on my way back home. James, how are you and the others?"

"You finally remember that there are other so-called friends here?"

John was laughing, "Yes I just remembered that I had friends here, why.... are you feeling left out?"

Jack, "Stop being mean now. We have not met for ages already. I have a good idea, let's meet here at Dunk Zone, we will see you there in about an hour, what say?"

"Sounds good to me. Okay, let us meet up. I will see you guys there, after an hour"

At Dunk Zone,

It is an upscale bar where the rich heirs and businessmen often found spending cash like nothing.

John was looking around the main entrance and his gaze stopped on a group of people. He smiled and made way towards them.

The only girl in the group, Raya spotted him and had a huge smile on her face.

"Looks like you were indeed not joking with us, James. Else I would have kicked the sh!t out of you today"

John stopped near Raya and pulled her and James to a quick hug, Liam had an expressionless face and did not even acknowledge his presence.

John sighed, "Still angry with me over the issue?"

When John decided to study abroad, Liam was very happy about it and wished him all the luck, but he was angry with John because the latter did not even bother to call and keep in touch with them for all these years.

When John heard no replies he thought of something and instantly changed his expression, in a sad voice he said, "If you detest my presence so much, then I should better get going. I am really sorry I did not keep contact with you guys but I thought things could change for better"

All of them were shocked. Something has changed about their friend. Did he say SORRY? He was apologizing to them, the person who cared about no one, himself said this. They were in utter disbelief.

Liam looked towards him and saw John had turned and was walking towards his car.

"Where do you think you are running off to? I have not yet forgiven you, you better stay and make up for all these years"

They all laughed and entered the bar together.

James: "John you changed a lot I see. How come you started cracking jokes?"

John: "I was always like this, perhaps you all failed to notice it"

Nope, they were all wrong. He was back to his old ways.

The four friends enjoyed a couple of rounds of drinks and were reminiscing their childhood days, their life while John was abroad. John enjoyed their company, after a long time he felt this relaxed. He was busy ever since he joined the company, he made a lot of changes in the company policies and his schedule was filled to the brim.

Well, everything was not so tiring. Seeing her face made his day, although he did not meet her face to face, he looked at her working diligently through the CCTV cameras. He had to soon think about approaching head-on.

While he was thinking about her, he saw a familiar silhouette pass by him and stop near an empty booth. Jess was here. At first, he thought that he was seeing things as he thought about her a lot, but then he realized that she was not a part of his imagination, she was indeed present there.

His suspicion became true when he saw another girl, about the same height as Jess came towards her and called out to her. He noticed that Jess was a little sad?
