My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

John: "Uncle!! I think she should head back now. There are some important things left at work. I need to back."

Narrow escape.

Lincoln pursed his lips but didn't say anything. "In that case, you should get going. George lets meet in the evening for the ceremony. I hope everything will be clear by then" He eyes John and the later understood his words quite well.

'Oops! I think uncle Lin found me out. I'll have to act fast and clear out the misunderstanding today'

John drove here so he offered to drop her at the workplace. Jess didn't turn down his generous offer and agreed to accompany him. When she saw his car, she felt that something was amiss.

'The car looks familiar'

They left the place and were on their way to the World Co.

As soon as they reached the workplace, she received a notification on her tablet.

[President will be back soon, hope you will be back on time. Some files need your approval before they are present to the President]

Jess: "Thank you for dropping me here. I am in a hurry. Sorry I will take my leave first"

John: "Hmm. It is okay to go on ahead."

She got down from the car and went inside the building. John was relieved that she chose to leave first. He parked the car on his spot and boarded the elevator which directly led him to his cabin.

Jess immediately got into her work mode and finished the important files. She was still unsure of her feelings. She didn't know if she did the right thing a few hours ago. With all the going on in her brain, she received a notification on her tablet.

Eh! Boss is back? I didn't see him. Oh silly me. He must have used his private elevator.

She looked around for Mr. Cox but he was nowhere to be found.

'Looks like I will have to give it to him.'

Sigh!

She gathered some courage and walked towards the office.

John entered his office. His signature cold aura was visible now. The easy-going from before was now gone. He looked through some important files. The cooperation with the Green Group of Companies was missing. He notified his secretary as usual. Then a thought struck him. He checked his tablet again.

Damn! His secretary was none other than Jess. Now he would have to face her.

'Last time she found Mr. Cox to send files. She might find him today as well. Everything is gonna be fine.'

'Why should I hideaway? I need to tell her my true identity. It is a good way to confront her'

He was ready for the battle.

He received an important mail and started working on it. He left everything on fate.

'Knock, knock'

"Come in"

Jessica entered the room.

"Sir here is the file of Green Group. The cooperation terms and conditions have been thoroughly revised and all the key points have been highlighted"

John was behind the computer screen so she could not see him.

"Bring the files over here" He was concentrated on his work. He didn't move from his current position.

Jess- 'Why does his voice seem somewhat familiar. I must be thinking too much'

She moved towards his desk. When she was before him, she stopped in her tracks.

John furrowed his brows. She was standing there like a statue. She was supposed to keep the file and leave. He looked up, "Where is the file..."

Jess: "Mr. Parker, Mr. John Parker. The President of this company"

She mumbled as she saw him. No wonder why the car looked so familiar, no wonder she felt that the voice was similar.

She had a slight frown on her face. She tried her best to keep her calm. She kept the file on the table and turned to leave. She was angry for believing him. He must have just agreed to the proposal on a whim. He is the CEO of such a big company and what was she? She had no such status. He must have agreed to be with her for 'fun'.

"Jessica please wait. I didn't know about this earlier. I am serious about this engagement"

Jessica was shocked. He had indeed seen through her thoughts. Without turning back she replied,

"Mr. President, I apologize but you had all the time to tell me about it today after you saw me in the cafe. I simply made a fool of myself in front of you. I could not recognize my boss."

"No Jessica, It is not your fault. I am wrong here. I should have corrected you as soon as you misunderstood me, but it was my selfish self who wanted you to agree to this. I knew that you would reject the idea after knowing about me. And as far as the thing for not recognizing me, it is not your fault. I don't like showing myself in public and my public appearance can be counted on fingertips. So stop thinking about this stuff."

He moved towards her, stood in front of her. Her face was red with anger and embarrassment.

"Whatever I promised you earlier, I will fulfill it. Those were not empty promises. Can you please trust me? I am still your uncle's son, you don't have to see me as your boss" John was trying his best to calm her down and change her train of thoughts.

Jess had a hard time believing that she was going to marry her boss, but as soon as he said that he was uncle George's son, her anger seemed to turn down.

Yes, he is correct. She was marrying someone she spent her childhood with, even if it was for a very small time.

She tried to think carefully about the whole matter and finally looked at him.

"You won't break your promise, right?"

A huge smile broke out on his face, "Never. I will never break my promise"
