My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

A few days back,

At a bar,

Lincoln Blevins was hanging with his brother and business partners after a meeting.

"Excuse me, I'll come back in a while", Lincoln said. He left the private room and walked towards the balcony when he had a sudden urge to smoke. He lit it, but as he was about to put it near his mouth, someone's voice called him out from behind.

"You haven't quit smoking? Didn't I say you to try to avoid it ?" he said a warm smile across his face.

Lincoln was shocked. He turned around and saw that he was correct. With a warm smile, he replied," I am sorry. It's been long, I seemed to have forgotten some promises I made."

They hugged each other. Lincoln, in turn, pushed him aside after a while "Hey no touching... What will hot ladies think about me?" He said in a joking manner.

"How have you been? How is life abroad George?"

George Parker smiled. They were best friends in high school. Inseparable. But George had a different dream, he wanted to be a director and Lincoln was talented in management. So their careers and dreams had separated them. But today after more than 20 years they met, they still felt that they were in high school.

" I have been doing well. I returned to the country this time to direct a very popular online drama. Hmm, maybe I'll be here for around 6 to 10 months. Enough about me how are you?"

" I am doing well. How come you didn't call me in recent years? Did you change your number? I tried calling you but I could reach you, so I had to give up." Lincoln said in a sad voice. He missed his friend but could not contact him due to their respective responsibilities.

"Oh! That was actually because I was too busy with helping my son with his future. Dad wants to retire and John was having trouble settling to a new place back then. Now he is ready to take over the company from dad. Dad was a little sad that I had no interest in business, but I am happy that he never forced me to do something I disliked."

" It is good to hear that John is going to take responsibility now for the company. Is he here yet? When is he coming back to the city?"

"Yes, he arrived a few days back. He went to The World to familiarize himself with everything and dad did give him a few tips and tricks. But I am worried about him, he is too cold like his Grandfather. Always has a stern face. Girls don't dare to approach him due to his dark aura around him and what's worse is that he doesn't even seem to mind. How is Jessica doing? Is she still abroad?"

" Jessica is not doing so well now. She puts up an act in front of us showing that nothing had happened but I know that something indeed went wrong when she was abroad. She returned about a month back and is looking for a job here. She is stubborn and says that no matter what she won't work for our company. She refused to take over the company management and wants to work on her field of expertise, organization of data, but not here, some other company. I could not do much but support her."

It was then something flashed across George's mind. In a soft voice, he asked," Do you think that she is single? I like her a lot and I know that she is great you know..."

George didn't finish his words, he did not need to. Lincoln smiled," Nope she is single right now and I quite like your idea. Why we send the pictures and contact information? It would be easier for them right?"

George could not be happier." It will be best if it all turns out the way we want. Right in-law?"

"Yes I could not agree with you more"

They laughed and exchanged their child's pictures and contact information. They were reminiscing about their youth and talked for long before parting and excitedly waiting to reach home to tell them about what had just happened.
