My Swarm Academia: Call Of The Void

Chapter 26 - A New Teacher

"You're a monster," Tokoyami said.

"Maybe I am. Would have to be one to be lord over them. But at least I'm not one that wants to kill you. On the contrary, I want to make sure that everyone here is still alive six years from now. That seems rather unlikely if this fanboy generator," Kai said gesturing at All Might, "is the only one who is teaching you the fundamentals."

"Shut the hell up!" Bakugo shouted. "You're insane!"

"You are getting really close to me nailing your hands to the floor so I can keep talking. I already have three halves of a mind to kill you on the spot. Don't push your luck and change that last half." Kai turned to the class.

"Keep in mind that not only am I very sane, I am not an idiot either. If something sounds wrong, perhaps you need to think a little more about why I would say it that way. So, think about what I've said so far. My lessons will cover at least one of the following topics: Combat Fundamentals, Moral Philosophy, or Quirk Synergy.

"We will start with Moral Philosophy, where the starting question for Yagi over here is: what the actual f*ck? Is it right for a teacher or hero to stand by as one of their students tries to murder another? And then, even after the crisis has passed, to think that Brutus did nothing wrong? There was barely any sign that Yagi even disapproved. This is why I will never call this man 'All Might.' Such a pretentious name. Did you think that you became a god on the way to becoming a hero?"

"Remember, you are just a man, and a sorry one at that. So I ask again, what the actual f*ck? What made that clumsy-as-hell murder attempt okay to allow?

"All offense intended, that was the dumbest murder attempt I have ever had the misfortune to watch, and I've seen a lot," Kai said, turning to Bakugo. "Reminded me of Hitler invading Russia in the winter. So many parallels, too, but I'll get into that later, if at all. Look it up some time.

"First lesson in Combat Fundamentals: knowledge, whether it be of training or experience, will be a greater weapon and defense than any Quirk. Having it will lead to survival if not victory, and ignoring it, like Bakago, leads to defeat. I will take questions now. Please take this time to speak up. Just know that assuming you aren't intent on murdering someone else in this room, this is a very, very safe place."

"Why should we believe you?" Iida was the only one who had courage to speak. He still had confidence that despite how everything looked, All Might was still in control.

"That, that is a very excellent question. Yagi? Could you tell everyone my qualifications for teaching and helping with security?"

All Might just looked confused. Kai suddenly realized why All Might hadn't acted on the warning signs he had been sending. He shook his head. All that effort, the communication and deal with Nezu- all attempts at cooperation were wasted before All Might's arrogance. Kai sighed and leaned against the wall, head in his hands.

"You didn't read the packet. Principal Nezu should have given it to you; to every teacher here. Every single detail you might ever need to know about me, and you ignored it. You thought that since you can use a single punch to turn a town to dust, you could handle me, no matter what. You just don't even know how weak you really are. I see where I have to start now.

"I need to destroy you. Destroy you and teach them myself."

"Destroy All Might? That's impossible!" Kaminari shouted.

"It's easy, actually. Especially since he is checkmated- he can't punish me or attack me because of his previous actions. He would allow murder, and has allowed more, so what's wrong with me just talking? He can't just run away either, or else what happens to the reputation of your precious Symbol of Peace? He can't even just stop me from talking because he would have to kill me, and also lose the title.

"Believe what you will, but please listen to me answer the first question, as it will also answer yours, and Yagi's. The short version is that I have eleven years of hero experience doing a lot of good, and I'm not going to ruin it by harming the innocent."

"Then what about taking hostages?" All Might asked.

"That was me being wrong. I thought I was taking hostages, but as a matter of fact, I was ensuring the effectiveness of my weaponry."

"Wait, eleven years?" Yaoyorozu asked incredulously.

"Yep. More like eleven and a half, but that extra half year doesn't matter very much, does it? My mom got me working as soon as I got my Quirk. I mean," Kai gestured towards Bob, who had curled on the floor beside him, "these guys are very useful in taking down villains. They are hunters. While my mom and I were working across Asia and Europe, we had a 20% conviction rate," Kai said with a proud smile.

"… You're crazy. That is a terrible conviction rate," Bakugo said.

"I guess so, Anakin. But that's not the whole picture. The other 80% were eaten. Tasty, I'm told, but I didn't notice. I was making a pyramid out of the heads in the corner as mom was interrogating the higher-ups."

"Eaten?!?!"

"Pyramid of heads?!?!"

"You-"

"Oh, come on, I disemboweled some changelings yesterday and laughed about it. Is it really that surprising? At the very least not out of character. Besides," Kai pointed at Bob again, "these guys aren't exactly pacifists. They are savage beasts."

Suddenly, Kai's head snapped up towards the ceiling. "No, no, no. We are not here to hurt anyone. Not today, not yet."

"Who the hell are you talking to?" Bakugo asked.

"Sorry, I'm just having a rough day, can't handle two conversations at the same time. But I didn't get to the business these guys were in, that I killed? Does anyone know about Quirk farming? Ugh, I think I just threw up a little."

Those who had been abuzz about how Kai was a psychopath went silent as they heard this. Only a few, like Kaminari and Kirishima had confused looks. All Might had an awkward look.

"Yeah, that's exactly what I mean. Human traffickers who aren't above creating their product. Kidnapping people and breeding them like dogs in order to create children with stronger Quirks that are worth a fortune as weapons. It was a very personal thing for my mom. She'd been let down by Pro Heroes before. They wouldn't call a spade a spade, or in this case, r*pey bastard, and go after the guy.

"I don't care if he did nothing illegal, it was just r*pe with extra steps. But he was a powerful pro hero, so they just let it slide. She lost her best friend, her trust in Heroes, and her life from one incident. Isn't that right, Yagi-san?"
