My World Now

Chapter 6 - Supper

So here I am waiting for Wizzal. I've been hanging out for hours on top of the tower roof watching the Florensin clean up the mess I made of the town.

Wizzal says supper will be served in the caves anytime now. Just Like at boarding school everyone is served food together four times a day. The days here are longer then a normal day on earth. When I first arrived I started counting out the minutes. I kept losing track and had to recheck myself so it took a good five days to figure out approximately one day and night schedule. There are about 32hrs in a day. I've never been good at math but I got a ruff estimate.

The whole time I was watching this town I didn't sleep or eat. So the last six days I've had one heart, a brain plus that grub and last night I slept a few hours. When I'm doing nothing sleep isn't a real issue, and food I can go ten days without food with minimal activity. On the sixth day my stomach usually starts telling me it wants something till I get over the hump. If I'm using a lot of fire then I can eat enough to feed a small army in one day. I usually sleep every three days unless busy.

Anyway Wizzal finally comes to the door. He looks annoyed and says, "I hate eating. I've got to much work to do. Let's get this out of the way so I can get back to work." We head to the nearest house and down into the caves.

When we enter into the dinner cave red crystals glow on every table. People are everywhere talking. You basically sit anywhere you want. With so many Florensin sitting about the whole place has a mystical quality with a green glow covering everything.

The tables are covered with food. Stacks of plates and bowls stand beside the dishes on the tables. Smells fill the air and I must say they don't smell very appetizing. Wizzal leads me to a table and we sit down.

What I see doesn't make me to happy. There are no utensils, and a cup in front of me with two pitchers. One looks like the green water of this planet. The other is a green glowing liquid. I have a feeling it comes from the Iota.

Next to it is a soup with mushrooms and more grubs. The grubs are moving through the soup alive. People use their fingers to eat the grubs from the soup and drink straight from the bowls. There are baskets of more grubs and what looks like a blue mushroom bread. There are eggs with yellow whites and yolks of all colors.

Funny I didn't mind eating that one grub earlier but this is a bit much. Wizzal grabs a grub and pops it into his mouth saying, "dig in." Wizzal picks up the pitcher of glowing green liquid and pours himself a cup. The cups appear to be made of clay. He offers me some and says, "you want some. It's a tea made from the sand stones excreted by the glow worms." I shake my head no, grab the water and pour myself some. "Iota poop tea that's is something I can do without," I think.

I look around and sniff the air. Seeing the weird colored eggs. "They don't smell bad," I think as I take one with my fingers and a piece of the mushroom bread. Wizzal looks at my plate as he grabs three eggs for himself, " you should like those eggs they are Fliota eggs the creatures the Iota turn into in the spring. They are said to have different elemental powers depending on the color. I've yet to make an experiment with them." The bread is tough but tastes ok and the egg has a sweet taste to it. After watching everyone eat with their hands for awhile I decide to leave. It's time I eat some real food.

I step out of the cave and head towards the forest. Night has fallen and the whole village once again looks dead. The only light is coming from Wizzal's tower where I blasted the holes in his wall. The rest of the tower looks black. It must be magic. As I head across the field I start to think about the meal, The Florensin's main diet staple must be the worms. I eat bugs for two reasons. One I can't find anything else to eat. There is plenty of pray around here so that's not an issue. Two collecting DNA. Thinking about that if I start having thread come out my a.s.s cause of that Iota I'll be pissed.

As soon as I enter the forest I change form. My blue skin starts to turn back to my nice copper tan color. Claws start to grow on my hands and feet. Curved ears start growing up out of my head, teeth become sharp and a long furry tail appears like a panther.

The markings are from a cat I ate when I first got here it was like a tiger/panther mixed together. The strips are red and the base color is a pink. The spots are green. "This whole place has weird colors" The dress starts to get tighter and shorten. The sleeves shorten as well. Before I know it I'm wearing a tank top and shorts. "This dress is amazing," I think as I head deeper into the forest.

It doesn't take long till I hear a creature in the forest ahead of me. I stop in the high branches above the creature. It is a small creature I call Buttdog. It looks like a small orange colored dog with a tail that is thin like a snake and stands straight up like a cobra ready to strike. It's most unusual part is it's neon green b.u.t.t that looked like a baboons. They always travel in packs of 12-20 and eat the roots of plants and bugs they catch. They are the size a Boston Terrier.

I continue, landing on the ground past them and through the invisible paths taking me through the thickening orange and blue bushes. It don't take long to find a good target. It is a orange and yellow striped pig the size of a small car. It has hair down its back and across its c.h.e.s.t. The creatures back teeth are razor sharp made for grinding bones.

My eyes are glowing in the night as my shape shifts. Wings start sprouting from my back as I shift back to my normal shape. I lunge at the pig from the underbrush. Claws ready before it has much time to react I am plunging my hand into its side and turning it over as I go for the heart. Dinner is served.
