Mystical Academy: The Mystery of the World

"What is that thing?" I asked him when I saw how huge the beast's silhouette is. My fire dies when the thunder rumbles like the God above is mad. I stepped back when the beast gets bigger and it is coming toward us.

I gasps when I heard a whining of a dog. I turn around to see a white pup rubbing himself on his dead mother. Now, I has a reason to fight to the beast. Not for myself but for this poor orphan pup.

"I don't know…" he murmurs. I wanted to roll my eyes on his answer. I kneel down and took the pup and hugged it. I thought that it would complain but it nuzzles on me instead. Nicholas glanced at me and when he realize what I am holding he looked into my eyes. I immediately gave the pup to him and throw my fire on the beast who is running to us. The fire didn't even scratched the beast.

I duck down and hold the ground. The ground started shaking as it grumbles and the roots of the trees comes out and it hold the beast. I throw a fire and it surrounded the wild beast who tried to resist from my roots. My eyes widens when I see how huge it is. It is a furry beast with a single black horn on the forehead. His head looks like a bull or buffalo or something. The body looks like a muscular human wrestler but it has a horse legs and the arms is like a human wrestler that I had ever seen in my life.

I can't help but to gape. The roots is just like a paper to him, that easily to torn. I stepped back and there looks up to the flying sharp woods. I glanced at Nicholas who is breaking the branches just to make it as a weapon. The beasts runs to me and growls in front of my face as his disgusting breath blows my face. It smells like blood…

My heart is pounding because he's ready to eat me whole but a blood dripped into my lap. Nicholas pulls me and I saw Patrick on top of the head of the beast and pulls the sword that he stabbed on the beast's nape. The beast let out a small growl and it falls on the ground. I looked into Patrick who look directly into my eyes. He dropped down the sword and kneels in front of me. He scoop my cheek and kissed my forehead. I stare at the beast that becomes ashes and the wind blows it along.

"I'm glad that you are safe…" he murmurs. I didn't noticed that my breathing isn't normal. It is palpating. I fall my back on the ground and good thing that Nicholas had catch my head. I really don't feel good. My body is fighting from the hot and frozen temperature. I felt a furry thing rubs my skin and the footstep of it on my abdominal as it sniffs me.

"What do you feel?"

"I feel like there's a typhoon inside me."

"Your temperature isn't normal. You need to take a quick bath." He took the pup from me. "I will clean him up." I lazily get up and hold my head. I looked at my arms that looked so pale and it got dark bruises. The door opens and I looked at Patrick with Marissa. He got blood stains on his tuxedo. He immediately runs to me and hold me.

He checked my bruises. Marissa came too and checked my pulse. She immediately told him that my blood pressure is low at 80 over 49. Patrick runs on the corner and grabbed a glass of water on the water dispenser. He gave it to me and I drank it all. I breathe and leans on the couch and close my eyes.

"Her bath is ready." Nicholas said. I open my eyes and saw him holding the pup with a towel that is wrapped on it. Marissa asked me if I could stand. I just nod but, Patrick and she need to pull me. I can't even take a step so Patrick carried me like a princess and went to the bathroom.

I close my eyes and my body started cooling down. I looked at Marissa who is washing my hair. I am still wearing my under garnets. She's just quite. I wanted to peek on her eyes to see her expression or to read it.

"What is in this world that makes it scarier?" I asked in a very low voice. My throat is dry and rough.

"Everything are scary, Catastrophe." She told me.

I was already in the bed after Marissa helped me to dry up and put clothes on. Patrick sat beside me while Marissa and Nicholas had left already. He was holding my hand while staring at me.

"I'm sorry." He said it. But he doesn't speak to me personally but inside my head. "I should've known that they had done it to you. But I am here now, I won't let them hurt you ever again."

"You can't protect me, Patrick. We don't know whom we are against with." I speak to him through my mind. All this time, I am guessing right. He can get into people's mind, read people's mind and speak through mind-link.

"Do you know why I am still in this Academy instead of going to Europe as a psychiatrist?" he asked me. "I didn't leave this school because the answers on Adhiti's disappearance are inside this school. I never leave this school because, I know that the people who wanted to kill Adhiti and you is here. They never leave without their greed." I blink slowly as a tear falls from my left eye. He gently caress my left cheek brushing off my tear.

"I am really tired." I told him. He bent out and I close my eyes. I felt his warm lips kissing my forehead.

I gently open my eyes. My body is in pain, stiff and never wanted to get up in this time. But I really tried my best to get up. I gasped when Nicholas is inside my room sitting on the floor and the white furry pup is in front of him licking on the bowl.

"Good evening." He greets. I looked around me and glance at the window. It was dark outside. "You've been sleeping for two days. Now it seemed that you regain all your strength. Next time," he stood and walk towards the side table with a small cactus. "Don't heal dead wolf." He gave me a glass of water and it chills down my throat. That was a real relief. Sleeping in two days is not really me. I must've really drain all my energy.

Katherine purrs and rubbed herself against my back. The little pup runs towards me and barks on the cat. Katherine purrs and hissed on the pup and the pup whimpers and runs. The floor was quite slippery and he hit his butt on the wall and runs again and hides under the drawers. I can't help but to smile on how adorable the pup is.

"That little guy is really hyper. So, since that there are two of them here, you need to be responsible to him too. You need to walk him outside and trained him well. He can't just pop around and pee around your room. I also had bought dog's food and milk. He needs milk since he's a baby wolf." He said it all while I am sipping on the water. "I will tell Mrs. Patterson to bring you food here."

"I'm alright. I can take care of myself." I told him and patted Katherine.

"Take care of yourself, you say?" he asked sardonically and crossed his arms. "You almost die two nights ago. You barely move your whole body."

"What are you? My father?" I asked him a little insulting. "You are just my mentor—"

"Mentors do care for their apprentice, like their own daughter or son." He explains. I hold on the post of the bed and slipped off from bed. I walk towards the bathroom slowly. Why my whole body is still in pain. After peeing, I walk outside seeing Marissa with Patrick and with tray of foods.

I started eating while they are all in front of me watching me. I have to stop eating and look back at them. They all turn back except Patrick. He raise his left eyebrow and sign me to continue eating.

"How can I concentrate if all of you keep staring at me on my every move?"

"I am just making sure that you are eating."

"I am eating, right." I said sardonically. "I wanted some privacy, at least give me that and that's my right."

"Tomorrow, you are going back to school. Your training will proceed." Patrick said like he's my father or what. I wanted to feel annoy but somehow, I missed it. I just sipped on the orange juice and cleared my throat.

Patrick left with Marissa. Nicholas is still inside my room writing something on my study. The pup is sitting in front of me looking up at me. I smiled on how adorable he is. I pick the piece of grapes and feed him. He eat it and that's really adorable. The pup licks my fingers and I patted his head. Katherine walks at my back as she slowly rubbed herself against me and walk around me telling me that I am hers only.

"Don't be jealous Katherine." I told her and patter her.

"I had bought a collar for the wolf. What's his name?" he asked me. I looked at him who is facing on my direction while sitting on my swivel chair.

"Ruin." I simply answer.

"Ruin? That's quite… unusual." He noted.

"Ruin will going to help me destroy people who shouldn't be in this world." I told him with all my fierce. He was quite taken aback on what I said.

"Alright then, Ruin it is. Don't put yourself into danger again without me around." He stood and walk towards me. "I will be just here to protect you." He gently bent out and kissed my forehead. I felt an iciness sensation from his kiss as it crosses inside my veins like it is fixing my vitals. My eyes dilated and I feel fully energize. "Tomorrow, at four, you need to meet me at the gymnasium and please bring Ruin with you. He need to walk outside." I just nod. "I am going outside the Academy to buy few things. Do you have any requests?"

"Uhm, I wanted to go outside the Academy to visit someone." I kind of missed Mr. Sanders. I wanted to visit him.

"No. Not now." He said it more like a demand and stood. "Everyone are too busy and nobody can accompany you."

"I am not a child." I said it to tell him that. "Besides, I am on my own, since that you're just my instructor. I can leave this academy anytime I wanted to." He looked offended on what I said.

"If you are going to leave this academy, where are you going to go? Those things that wanted to kill you are not humans. They are almost immortals and you can't fight them all."

So, he's really concerned. I can't blame him for being concerned but at least he should be formal sometimes. I am his apprentice and he's my mentor. There should be a barrier and if possible no emotion attached. He also think that I am Adhiti. Patrick knows who I am because he can read minds and get into people's mind.

"I am fully aware of it, Mr. Gregory. Just so you know, I had survive many times from those things. If you still think that I was Adhiti, please don't get yourself involved." I said it calm and clear and show my bored lazy eyes on him.

"I don't think that you are Adhiti, I think that you are Catastrophe if that's you. All I just think is that I am fully responsible on you. Don't think that I was attracted on you, though, I am." I was quite puzzled on what he said and really get too puzzled when he kissed my forehead and leave me baffled.

If Ruin didn't whimpers and looked at me as he tilt his head, I won't get on what Nicholas really did. He's attracted to Adhiti not to Catastrophe. He really need to stop admiring Adhiti. That is going to break his job.

After taking a bath and feel fully relieved, I went to the study desk and noticed the list he gave to me. Feed Ruin milk even in Midnight. Wow, that's really something on raising a pup. That's what I also did on raising Katherine. She will wakes me up at midnight for her to drink milk.

I was about to settle my alarm on my smart watch but it is already settled. He's really something. So, he's been taking care of Ruin while I was asleep. Ruin wasn't sleeping. He's on my bed and keep on rolling and biting on the covers. Katherine was sleeping on the couch. That lazy fat cat.

I open the door and peek outside my door. The corridors are clear so I pick Ruin and closes the door behind me. I covered him around my jacket and walk outside the dormitory. At this moment there might be some professors or securities walking around to check on few things. Ruin whimpers so I hushed him. He keep quiet until we are outside the dormitory building.

I sigh as the chilly wind blows on my face, brushing my hair like it's playing on me. I smiled on the thought that even the wind is communicating with me. I put down Ruin and he runs around. Good thing that there is a light post near the apple tree where I used to stay sleep, sit, and study and hang out.

"Come, Ruin!" I called the pup but it didn't come. "Ruin, your name is Ruin." I told the pup. He runs to me and scratch on my jeans. I kneel down and patter his silky hair. "You will be my guard, Ruin." The dog barks as a response. Sometimes, I think that I can get into animal's mind. I lift my hand to get a piece of small branch and it flies to my palm. "Now, Ruin. You will learn a few basic on fetching." I throw the branch a little far. "Fetch." I told him. The dog sits in front of me as his tail is wiggling, looking at me quizzically with tilt head. "Go, now. Get it." I told him. He whimpers and sneeze. "Come on, Ruin. Get it." The dog barks and run towards the small branch and gets it. He runs back and put it down in front of me. I patted his head and gave him small puppy biscuit.

"It was too dark to train him here." I turn around to see Andrew whose hands are tucked inside his jacket. He's grinning from ear to ear with twinkling eyes. He pulls something out from his pocket and walk towards me. He put the bonnet on my head and push it a little deeper. "I miss you," he said.

"Really? Why?" I still asked though I know the answer.

"Because, you looked like my baby sister." He answers.

"What if I tell you that she's already dead?"

"She died for a reason, two years ago. I am still searching for the mastermind though. I still live on that year."

"Why didn't you moved on?" I kneel down and pick my pup.

"My half died two years ago. There's no reason to move on. But still, I have a reason to move forward. I had been in love before and after she's gone. I take that reason to move forward."

"You are still in love to the Head Mistress? I heard that you dated her before she become the head."

"Yes. We dated a lot and make out a lot. My sister caught me three times, in my room with her." He laugh a little thinking about those memories, his smile faded. "Because of my grieve I forget being in love. I don't know why. Love never forgets. The thing that I don't understand is, why I stop loving her and why I stop being in love."

"Is that a question?" I asked him. "I know nothing about love. I am Catastrophe and all I do is to destroy and make disastrous things." I told him to stop being dramatic in front of me. He laugh at me as if I just said a joke. But it wasn't a joke, I was serious at my words.

"Yeah, right. Do you know why Catastrophe only want is to destroy and break things? Because, she hates things around her. And that hate is love before." He got a point, but I stay emotionless. "People won't feel hatred if they never get heartbroken because of love."

"If you say so." I said with shrug.

"I understand that you grow up with an aspie. How did he manage to raise a normal person?"

"Because, he's a natural genius. He's lack of empathy but he knows how to take care a child because of his mother who advise him to adopt me."

"His mother seemed like lovable."

"Of course, though I was raised by a person who has Asperger's syndrome, I was also surrounded by people who are lovable. However, I never get used on them."

He nods like he fully understand me. I sat down the grass and put down Ruin. He runs around and started gnawing on small wood. Andrew sat beside me as our arms are touching each other.

"You said you were allergic to cats and dogs."

"I was." I said it as a lie and too cool so that I wouldn't be caught and in hot seat. "George was allergic to cats and dogs, I was too so instead he bought me an aquarium with three golden fishes. After I had discover that I make fire on my hands, I had adopted things around me."

"That's good to know." He agreed. I know that he already know the truth. He's just denying the truth to protect me. "I started to think that you are my baby sister's twin or doppelganger. I just wished that you are her identical than being her doppelganger."

"Why would you think of that? Does Adhiti has a twin sister?"

"There are things that stay as a mystery in our family. There might be an incident that you are my sister's twin. You know, like telenovela… something… chu-chu…" he mumbles. I don't get him. He can't explain it clearly.

"What?" I asked. He sigh and rolled his eyes.

"Oh, forget it." I did forget it. So, we stay silent for a moment while watching Ruin playing.

"Are you still dating the Head Mistress? Last time, I saw was she's seducing you."

"That's not the right question, C."

"Then, what's the right question?"

"I and she are finished. She dumped me a year ago because of my lack of presence."
