The next week was like hell for Ren, his team hadn't gone on any missions higher than D rank and he didn't have a good source to get points so he had to stop doing a time multiplier in the crimson world. The only good thing was that Ren was able to learn lots more about the chakra network and soon he may be able to make his own version of the gentle fist.

Ren hoped that his team would go on a C-rank mission soon and walked to the second training ground to meet his team. Once everyone was at the training ground they did some sparring and then walked over to the Hokage's office for their mission.

"I have heard from Kurenai that your team is ready for a C-rank mission, so today your mission will be to investigate the forests near the village and get rid of any animals that could be a danger to civilians." - Third Hokage

'Hopefully, we get to fight some animals, and since I have the rank 1 of the ghoul path and vampire path I can absorb some of its flesh and blood with my eyes. Also, I can absorb some soil so that I can start growing plants in the crimson world.' - Ren

After they all knew what their mission was they left the Hokage's office and went to the forest he told them to investigate. Kurenai told Shino to send out some bugs for investigation and Hinata to do the same with the byakugan, Ren was also taught a basic sensing technique from Kurenai and so he was told to use it whenever Hinata was low on chakra. They only found normal animals in the first few minutes, so Ren just started to absorb some of the soil far away in barely noticeable amounts. Once Ren absorbed some soil he heard All Existence say.

'All Existence, how much chakra is being made by the earthworms?' - Ren

『0.001 chakra is being released into the air each day, also if the earthworms do not reproduce they will die in thirty days』

Now knowing that he can get chakra in the crimson world from absorbing earthworms in the soil, Ren began to absorb more moist soil with his eyes. After a few minutes, Ren absorbed 10 more earthworms, and now 0.005 chakra is being released each day in the crimson world. Hinata and Shino hadn't found any dangerous animals yet and now it was Ren's turn to sense animals because Hinata was running low on chakra. While Ren was using the sensing technique he couldn't find any animals that had lots of chakra.

'This mission is so boring, at least I got a way to get chakra in the crimson world.' - Ren

After a while, Shino told everyone on the team that his bugs had found some moles that are digging holes really close to the village. Everyone walked over to the holes Shino's bugs found and since no one could stop the moles, Kurenai just cast a genjutsu on the surrounds to make the moles dig upwards. Once the moles were on the surface they just moved the moles away from the village. Even though Ren felt this was boring and useless because he didn't get points or to fight, but since his team would be in the forest for the whole day Ren knew they would find some animal to fight.

And just like Ren thought after around two hours they finally found one animal that may be a threat to civilians, the animals were a group of wolves. Even though the wolves didn't have a way to harness chakra they were inherently a danger to civilians. The fight against the wolves consisted of Ren and Hinata fighting the wolves with taijutsu and Shino giving ranged support with his bugs and ninja tools, Kurenai just interrupted any wolves that were about to attack anyone. Once the battle against the wolves ended Kurenai said that they still needed to investigate the forest for a few more hours and then the mission would be over.

Ren decided not to absorb any of the wolves' flesh, but he did absorb some of their blood while no one was looking. The next few hours were boring and they didn't encounter any animals that could be a danger to civilians and so they went back to the Hokage's office to report their mission, each person on the team got 5k Ryo and Kurenai got 15K Ryo. (AN: about 500 dollars in the USA but this may be wrong) Now that Ren had money he made his way to the ninja shop and decided to buy some weights.

The weights were 25 pounds for each part of his body (Arms, and legs) all collectively weighing 100 pounds. Now that Ren had weights he could use for taijutsu training he would improve a lot faster. Since it was now the time to go to sleep Ren went to the crimson world to do some training. Over the whole mission, Ren was able to get lots more earthworms and soil, and now 0.025 chakra was being released into the crimson world each day. The training Ren decided to do in the crimson world was to be strong enough to use the first gate, and whenever Ren was tired he would read books on the chakra network. With the weights, Ren could barely complete the exercises that he normally did but since he had so much vitality Ren's muscles healed very fast and he felt the exercises getting easier and easier.
