New Beginning: Road To Conquest

After spending their time together for the whole day, Alyssa finally send Eliah back to his place.

"Okay, we have reached your place. Let me drop you here" Alyssa said to Eliah.

"Thanks you Alyssa. To be honest I have a lot of fun today and manage to release some of my stress."

"You are welcome. We should meet more like today since I am also had my own fun" Alyssa seem reluctant to leave Eliah and hope that Eliah will agree to her suggestions.

"Sure, just drop me a call and let us hang out more in future. Bye" Eliah get out from the car and wave his hand to her.

"Bye, good night and Take care"

Eliah back to his room and have some rest. At this moment, most of the doubt that he feels about his life are gone. He is able to see better view about his own life and rejuvenate his hope for his future. Right now he is more motivated in his life compare to before.

'Maybe having a relationship is not that bad as other people said.' Eliah is not having much experience with woman hence feel that having some kind of relationship is a good feeling even though both of them are only appear as close friend for now.

Because of the excitement, he quickly opens his phone and search for any valuable information that he can use to have a better future.

'Now my stat is high and capable to fights with other top people in the world. Now I just need to gain some skill to improve myself'

He had identified several skills that he can learn such as computer programming, martial art practitioner or involving with art industry. However, to polish your skill will take times and since he will need to spend most of his time at work, he can only nurture this skill slowly. For now, he will focus to develop his programming or IT skill since he can just self-instruct to learn this skill once he had buy computer or laptop.

Suddenly an idea come to his mind. Since there is no event or tournament that he can join, he may expose his athletic ability to others athlete or scout on his own. He can start by doing the training in gyms or public place where a lot of athlete come for exercise. Since the idea are quite reasonable, he plans to follow this step until he found better chances.

Every day after work, he will do some long distance running at nearby lake garden since he thinks that chances for being spotted by others are higher since it was a popular place for people do their exercise and enjoy the environment. To exercise in gyms will required him some payment and this is not an options that Eliah can take for now.

Because of his high performance in long distance running, he actually attracts quite some number of attentions from others who jog around the area. Most of the jogger are frequent visitor and Eliah capability are easily spotted since his speed are very abnormal compare to others. Since his presents are become more noticeable. He also notices that some people are start to take video of him running to upload on their social media. For Eliah, this kind of attentions is good since if he is lucky, someone from sport industry might notice him.

Day after day, he maintains the same schedule. There is one marathon race that are available in the City which are scheduled for another two months and he registered to join it. Although it was only an amateur race but he was still proceeding to join since it was better to have something than nothing.

He sometime joined a muay thai gym nearby since he was informed that the instructor was an ex MMA fighter. But he did not attract any attentions from the instructor.

"Guys, the 'Superman' is here. You can see his running speed are match of those athletes in Olympics. Fast and steady" one guy upload Eliah video on his social media since he amazes with him.

'You are right man, his speed can easily beat some of the top athlete in our country' another guys talking to his friend. He came to the lake just to see Eliah running since his friend tell him that he found a man with extraordinary ability are practicing in the area.

'Let me take his video and sent it to my friend. He is an athlete nurture by the Sports Department. Maybe he can give me some inputs if he knows him' other guy starts to spread rumors about Eliah.

Please do not underestimate the power of rumors or social media. Even though it's not was not viral at nationwide, Eliah can be consider quite popular since local people are start talking about him. As of now, no one had taken initiative to approach Eliah. Maybe because they got nothing to greet him.

On the day he is not working, Eliah will spend his time together with Alyssa and having good time together. No one had bother Eliah about his relationship with Alyssa except that one calls he received from Mr Kahn previously.

Nearly after 2 weeks, Eliah become more popular and his presence are starting being notice by other athlete or people in the sport industry due to the talk around the air. Some of them had start to greet Eliah and have some small chat with him while running. But most of them are only some local coaches which just want to greet him and nothing more.

Until one day, one man approaches him while running to him. That man did not look healthy with less hair in head and quite chubby.

"Hello sir, my name is Hobb. Did you have time so we can talk"?

Eliah stop his run and replied "Sure, let's have sit there first" Eliah show to a location for them to sit while having their discussions. Both of them walk towards the place and sit comfortably.

"Eliah, you can call me Eliah only"

"Okay I will call you Eliah, let me introduce myself first. My name is Hobb Smith and you can call me Hobb. I am an agent for athlete and have a good network in sport industry. To be honest, I notice your video on one of the post share by my friend. Your amazing ability had attracted me. Furthermore, I had done some investigations at my part and I do not find any details of you in any sports event. From then I can conclude that you are not a professional athlete. Is it right"? Hobb start his opening conversations politely.

"Yes, you right. Let just say that I just recognize my potential and start to train myself up. I am not fond of doing sport before, hence I did not yet join any sports event. But since I have recognized my potential, I start to improve myself and by chance become good at this and score some money joining some race" Eliah replied with honesty.

"Good..good…I can see that you got amazing ability for long distance running. To be honest I want to be your agent since I am confident that you can be someone big if you really pursue it and of course gain a lot of money at the same time. I will not charge you on fix amount, but it will be based on percentage from the income that you received." Hobb baiting for Eliah attention.

For Eliah, this is the chances that he is waiting for. However, he did not show his excitement and try to play it cool.

"Tell me more about your offer. To be honest, I do not like to have an agent since I did not yet gain a lot of income and I did not see its importance. But if you are able to convince me, why not to have an agent so I can focus more others aspect" Eliah asking Hobb more.

"Simple, let me say to you that I will work with my athlete based on trust. Hence I am not going to lie to you. Normally, as an agent, I will set your schedule and manage your operations that related to your career. I will not interfere with your personal life except if its jeopardize your career. On normal circ.u.mstances, I will bring information to you of which race or event that you can join, or alternatively you can suggest which event that you wish to join. I will try to search for sponsorship and it will be heavily reflected based on your performance. The better your achievement, the better sponsorship that I can gain for you. For payment, 10:90 is normal. But if your income is higher than 1 million for the year, I am willing to reduce it to 8% for my commissions and 5% if it more than 10 million. I know the commissions is quite high since you can get all the full payment if goes solo, but you need to think that having me as your agent will make things faster and easier for you."

"Your idea is good and attractive. But let me tell you something first before we proceed. I am a bankrupt man. What did you will do for this since there will be a lot of restrictions on me due to my status? For my ability, let just say that running is one of my ability. To be honest, I have good a very physical and as long as the sport or activity depend heavily on physical ability, I will be able to best the others and it's not limited to long distance running only." Eliah start bombing questions to Hobb especially related to his status.

"Let me tell you. There is a lot of famous and wealthy athlete declare as bankrupt and they still able to make their comeback to pay their debt. You maybe know Mike Tyson since he is famous boxer. He declares as bankrupt and still able to box. Don't worry about them and let me handle it. Since you had mention that you can join other type of tournament besides long distance race, it will be better since I can get you better tournament which can bring better income for you and me too" Hobb face brim with confidence.

"If that the case, I am all in. Please be my agent and try to find me some tournament to join. Did you have other athlete under your care too"? Eliah agree with Hobb suggestions and appoint Hobb as his agent is the best choice for now.

"Sure, this is my contact and let us meet again to discuss the contract. Currently I do not have other athlete under me" Hobb replied nervously since afraid Eliah will retrace back his mind.

"Oh. I thought that you got some famous athlete under you. You manage to fools me. Hahahaha. But don't worry. Like what you had mention, our basic cooperation is based on trust and I trust you" Eliah decides to follow his instinct and proceed to appoint Hobb as his agent since he got nothing to lose.

"One more info, few weeks back I had join a marathon held by Petrading and my unofficial time is so much ahead than national records. From that day, I had practice and my physical become better and better tremendously. You can start to look for something at world level and not restrict to the country only since I am confidence that I can still manage a good score." Eliah start to explain more.

Hobb face become brighter when he heard that. He at first being nervous that Eliah will not continue to appoint him to be his agent since he got no one under his care.

His next sentence shocks him and smile. He starts to laugh due to happiness.

"Thanks for believing in me. Let us meet tomorrow and I will bring some good news to you. By the way, if you got a job, you may need to resign since you no need to waste time on others thing beside focus on your new career"

"Sure, but I need to find a new place to stay since my living place are belong to my employer"

"No issue, you can live with me temporarily since I am living alone at my house as I just divorce with my wife" Hobb invite Eliah to live with him and accidentally tell unnecessary details about himself to Eliah due to his excitement.

Because of this, Hobb image become better in Eliah eyes since he can see that Hobb is someone that are honest and not a cunning guy.

"It's okay, I will ask my friend first and will accept your offer if it come to worse. Let us meet tomorrow here" Eliah offer to shake Hobb hand while standing up.

"Sure, but let's meet at Dia Café instead. Dun worry, it's my treat tomorrow" Hobb shake his hand back.

Both of them goes to separate way and Eliah back to his room. His first step for greatness are now starting and really anticipate something goof for his future. He prepares his resignations letter even though he feels some guilt due to his employer kindness that are willing to accept him when he is down.

Eliah goes to sleep and have his sweet dream for his future for the first time.
