"Finally, these pests are thinning out."

The horde of Linthos started to thin out after Yan Zhong Yi entered the forest.

A few occasional, stupid ones would jump out in attempt to ambush him.

Those Linthos couldn't even be recognised as Linthos anymore. Zhong Yi found out the bloody way that their mask in very strongly attached to their spine.

His instincts alarmed him of a very lethal danger ahead of him.

However, instead of heeding the warning. It excited him more to challenge this threat. He understood his hotheadedness will be the death of him soon, if he carries on the way he was but for now, he didn't care.

Shrugging at his thoughts, he continued walking vigilantly towards the direction his instincts were warning him to be wary off.

He came to an entrance of a large opening in a small hill. The ominous cave-like entrance rang many bells within Zhong Yi's mind, especially the scattered remains of large bones littering the ground.

It also had pillar like bones with a metallic l.u.s.ter and a cone-like end poking out of the ceiling entrance and floor making it look like the jaws of a massive beast.

"They have fortifications?"

He approached the sharp pillars and touched it, with his b.a.r.e hands. A slimy liquid stuck to his hands. Shaking the unknown liquid of his hands, he saw that everywhere else in the cave had varying amounts of this slimy liquid

"We really need better armour, or we might find ourselves at a disadvantage soon." The fact he had to touch it with his hands, grated on his nerves because of the lack of good armour, or even good enough material. "

Snapping himself out of his thoughts once again, the pillar in front of him gave him a dangerous feeling.

His intuition had been his life-saving grace for a few times now, so he began to trust his instincts more.

Something just didn't seem right with the situation. The eerie silence that occupied the space, no monsters jumping around looking for death, he couldn't even hear the usual insects no more. Just silence.

"Well, this monster isn't going to kill itself." Zhong Yi carried on walking towards the entrance. His nonchalant attitude was seen by the hidden spectator, whose respect rose tenfold.

Out of nowhere, a purple blur flashed in front of Zhong Yi to block a slimy pink tongue.

'Is that a tongue?"

He didn't like where this was going. "Then this entire cave entrance should be a ..."

Zhong Yi's thoughts were interrupted by the rumble from the suspicious looking cave. His eyes registered the diminishing amount sunlight coming through, he turned around in time to see the mouth closing.

Pushing his spirit energy circulation to the max with the royal origin sacred scripture, he flew from his original spot to the entrance. The force from his sprint start up, impacted the ground causing a mini explosion of blood and flesh.

"F.u.c.k, I might not make i…."

*ROAR*

A loud deep roaring of pain threw Zhong Yi off guard, as the shock waves served to send him flying through the gap of the teeth, just missing a tooth clamping down near his head.

Even though he was protected by his energy and powerful physique, his ears were still ringing from the loud roar and he felt slightly lightheaded.

Now that he was outside, he could see the entire head of the beast he had almost died from.

It looked like a Lintho but this one was also very different. Just the size would deter most. From the looks of it, Zhong Yi, guessed that it was about 50 times bigger. The mask on its face had a gem in the middle of its forehead and its horns were more like demon horns. They sprouted out the sides but curved inwards. Its eyes had opened and were looking directly at him, like its gaze could see through his soul.

Zhong Yi finally got a handle on himself and his dizziness faded, but he didn't have enough time to dodge the massive tail swinging towards him at insane speeds.

He was swatted like a fly and sent through tens of trees before twisting mid-air and landed on a tree branch. From his view from the tree, he could see the entire leader of the Linthos.

The monster now stood proudly under the sun's rays. Its slender body fully coated in black with white swirls in its fur like a tribal tattoo. Its mask also had lines of red than created a floral pattern on its mask.

" Urgh! I wasn't ready for that. Now we start …" This time, his eyes were able to catch a glimpse of a shadow moving towards his direction. He reacted in enough time to jump to another tree, as the former one was completely destroyed.

Those old trees were really strong, even Zhong Yi had to use a little of strength to destroy one, let alone a few like that.

Dropping from the trees, he landed on the soft green grass and slowly started to walk towards the monster. The boss Lintho was looking directly at him with contempt and disdain its eyes.

His signature sinister smirk appeared on his face as his kagune extended from his back. The two kagune moved to the left of Zhong Yi to clash against the monsters long tail.

Trees were swept out of the way by the tail on its way to squash Zhong Yi. Only to have its fierce momentum stopped at point blank range.

Yan Zhong Yi could see the disbelief in the monsters eyes, when he stopped the swing.

"Underestimating me will be your undoing,"

The monster danger senses went off the charts after Zhong Yi's statement. In a moment of desperation, it tried to pry its tail out of Zhong Yi's grasp but found that to be quite difficult.

"Such a shame, a stage 5-5 beast like yourself, would've been feared elsewhere. But you made the same mistake the goblins made killing my people and just like you, they will cease to exist"

Zhong Yi didn't care whether the monster could understand or not. He had to put on a show for the spectator watching from a safe distance.

"Now, your blood will be used for my people's cultivation. Your fur for our armour. Your eyes for medicine. Your bones for weapons. Don't worry, whether dead or alive. you will be given a chance to help our race"

The monster could understand the gist of Zhong Yi's words and was angered by his arrogance. It had been a leader of the pack for years and now a stranger waltz into its territory and acted like it was boss instead. The monster felt that its actions were good, but decided to take its kindness and step on it.

Not giving the chance for the beast to use its full strength after underestimating him. Zhong Yi grabbed the tail with both his hands and coated them in spirit energy. With a shout, he pulled viciously on the tail causing the monster to wail in pain.

His kagune plunged themselves into the tails for an extra grip, drawing pools of blood.

The muscle connecting the tail to the large Lintho were being ripped apart, causing blood to flow from the nasty wound.

Feeling the tail go limp in his hold. Zhong Yi let go of it, in time to narrowly dodge a stream of scorching hot flames. The heat evaporated the sweat produced because of it.

He turned to look at the scorched earth beside him, then at the monster whose mouth still had fire residue leaking from its jaws.

"Found you!"

With a smirk on his face, his body faded. The monster jumped to the side, just missing Zhong Yi's fist, only to feel the other side of its body cave in from a tremendous force.

Blood poured out of its mouth from the internal injury. However, Zhong Yi was sent back a hundred steps from the pressure emanating from the body of the Lintho.

He could only watch in amazement, as the body of the Leader, visibly shrank, to the size of a cart

The pressure disappeared after the transformation was complete, and its place. A different kind of pressure took its place.

It carried a kingly aura filled with dominance and its tail had repaired itself.

Both Zhong Yi and the Lintho beast stood a 150 steps apart from each other.

He covered his mouth to see blood on his hand when he pulled it back. He could see the mirth in the intelligent eyes.

Simultaneously, they charged at each other. The fierce light in their eyes intensified under the tense atmosphere.

They no longer held back.

Zhong Yi would be strong on his offensive, incorporating punches, kicks and chops. However, he received the same energy with back with bites and claws swipes. They moved faster and faster till the onlooker could barely see the two battling.

They went round after round, not caring for their surroundings or the time. Slowly, their wounds started to acc.u.mulate from the attacks they both received. Leaving traces of blood in their wake.
