New Emperor Of Ghouls

The sound of weapons crashing against the ground as some frightened goblins curled up into each other for comfort echoed out throughout the silent cavern.

Zhong Yi jumped down from the portal and swung his leg at it. The force from the kick dented the portal causing its malfunction. It's colour changed from blue to purple and then red in rapid succession before shutting down completely.

1Seeing the portal break down, whatever spirit the goblins tried to muster was destroyed and most surrendered.

Out of the 40,000 goblins that continued to come out of the portal. 6235 goblins were killed, around 23,000 surrendered and the rest were slaughtered without the help of the brethren.

On a sad note, The Linthos lost almost half their numbers. Most died from the numerous wounds made to their bodies by numerous Goblins even when they enlarged themselves to a height of 5 metres.

It was a hard battle and the Linthos deserve a well-earned rest.

From the words of the surrendered, a whole army of 1 million goblins was prepared to march through the portal to take back this region from the hands of demons.

When Zhong Yi heard it from one of the Hong soldiers, he thanked whatever god there was

out there watching over him and prayed for more luck.

A system announcement brought him out of his musings.

After the string of announcement, the entire region trembled as if an earthquake shook the ground. Then an aura of boundless strength and sovereignty washed over all the region inhabitants making them feel awe and respect.

The white coloured aura spread towards the end of the region where the void zone was and settled.

The surrounding regions would've felt the same awe and respect, but what it actually did was further frighten them as they remembered about the monster living right next to them constantly getting stronger and stronger, waiting to devour them up and swallow them whole.

The white aura converged into an orb of light hovering above the Sacred Ghoul village.

The Sacred Ghoul Emperor laughed heartily. This was a major milestone in the restoration of the empire. They now had an official, recognised foundation.

"This is good, no. This is amazing." Their emperor's good mood helped to lighten the mood. "Hong Shen go and get the medicine from the front of the cave, our soldiers need healing"

Despite his happiness, he knew that Hong soldiers deserved rest from all this, they fought hard and bravely, outnumbered by enemies 40-1 and managed to gain a victory.

Some might say it was a pyrrhic victory, but because they stopped an army of 1 million from entering the region and cleared out the remaining goblins allowing for the empire to become able of welding immense power over this region.

'They will be recognised for their effort' thought Zhong Yi as he made changes to the region.

He opened up the region page on the system and the first thing he noticed puzzled him.

At first, he thought the region was called the nightmare forest because of what the Jian siblings told him. Now, he was beginning to think otherwise.

'Maybe, the nightmare forest isn't just one region, but it is numerous regions grouped together?' Zhong Yi felt like he stumbled onto something big and wasn't sure yet.

Putting his thoughts to the back of his mind for a moment, he entered the changed name into the region name.

[Region Name: Alfheim]

The name, The Sacred Ghoul entered, had significant meaning to Ghouls everywhere.

Alfheim was the home to all Ghouls and their birthplace. When Ancestor Ghoul first started the empire, he chose the world called Alfheim.

The world was a paradise. Rich in spirit energy, fertile land. It was untouched by human lands and was perfect for habitation for Ghouls. While Ghouls saw it as a paradise, others didn't.

Alfheim had a large amount of humanoid-eating demi-human tribes and large monsters that reached up to 10 metres. Nevertheless, it was perfect for a battle race like Ghouls to cement their position as apex predators in its ecosystem and it soon became the homeworld and the beginning of the old empire.

Zhong Yi named this region Alfheim because to Ghouls it was synonymous to Hope and strength.

Humming in content, he scanned the region page with his sharp eyes and saw the amount of power available to the regional lords.

[Void Zone Boundary: ~Basic~ / Advanced]

For every region, they automatically have a Basic Void Zone Boundary, which means people can enter the region through the use of teleportation portals. This also meant anyone can simply align the teleportation portals to their enemies region and simply enter to attack.

It was something the scholars back in the Sacred Ghoul Town were researching on his orders and now he didn't have to worry about it.

The Advanced Void Zone Boundary stops the problem and only enables people who are a part of the regions official faction to enter and leave as they please.

He saw that the option to sculpt the landscape was available, but he would probably have to check to see if anything required changing, to begin with.

Slowly nodding passing one more glance over the region page, he closed it expecting a dramatic display of power or something like that.

Zhong Yi paused for a moment.

Fate energy was important. It was the energy used to power the Nation armaments and even though it would recover after a while, the expenditure of it in rapid amounts could be dangerous, especially when the supply of nation fate was so low.
