New Emperor Of Ghouls

Chapter 49 - 49: Surrender or die

The sound of Goblin speech and numerous footsteps came from 4 different tunnels. He had Hong Shen split them into groups of four and had each enter the tunnels.

Each tunnel was large enough to fit 10 Lintho side by side and the ceiling was high enough for Linthos to enlarge themselves.

He led a group through one of the tunnels. Zhong Yi could hear the alarmed, pained and dying screams of Goblins from the other tunnels.

Zhong Yi's head turned sharply to the right before his kagune appeared in front of him as fast as lightning to block an unnecessarily large two-handed claymore slice through the wall of the tunnel to cleave him in half.

"Go on ahead. I'll catch up." Ordered Zhong Yi to the 250 Lintho behind as he pulled on the large sword, taking it from the attacker's hands.

He watched as all the Hong soldiers sprinted past him and sweatdropped. 'This may have been overkill'

His distraction allowed for a figure appear from the hole in the wall. The figure moved fast enough to appear in front of Zhong Yi within a few seconds a drew a dagger from their hip and strike at his neck. Unfortunately, A second kagune smacked it from their small hands.

The Sacred Ghoul Emperor's eye glowed sinisterly before his kagune wrapped around the figure's arms and his third kagune wrapped itself around the legs of the attacker and held them in place so he could see them.

"Your not a Goblin" His confused voice escaped his throat.

The figure bound by his kagune did not have the normal green skin; the bald head or the few strands of hair normally found on goblins neither did they the short and hunched stature. Instead, she had peachy-tan skin coloured skin; Long black hair flowing down to the small of their backs; They were smaller than a Goblin warrior but taller than a regular goblin.

"Release me this instant" The non-goblin struggled with a surprising amount of strength. The fear in their feminine voice momentarily stopped him.

While she struggled, her hair parted slightly to reveal a small horn protruding from the side of her skull.

"You're an Oni?"

The female demon stiffened visibly. Her eyes darted left and right like a deer caught in the headlights. Seeing as she had no chance of escape, she looked at him dead in the eye with her emerald green ones.

The fear in her eyes subsided slightly but was still there along with a surprise.

"Who are you and why did you attack me." Asked the Ghoul.

He was greeted by silence once more.

Releasing an annoyed sigh, he moved towards the end of the tunnel to the sound of battle.

The heavy smell of iron wafted through the air as he walked towards the opening. The cavern at the end of the tunnel was larger than the first one, but it wasn't as pretty. Torches hung from the walls lighting up the area with a yellowy-orange light. In the middle of the large cave, on an elevated platform, was the teleportation platform. The blue light from it being activated lit up the area as goblins continued to pour out.

Zhong Yi saw the Hong tribesmen, who were with him, were being pushed back. Even with their tough skin and strong cultivation, the constant attacks were wearing them down and some were getting killed.

He looked back at the girl wrapped in his kagune and saw how she struggled more intensely. The anger she was feeling became palpable around her,

"Kill as much as you want, but when I say to stop fighting, you stop fighting.." He made sure the last words were laced with killing intent.

The female demon quickly nodded. Then she pointed towards the large sword still being carried by his kagune. "Only Goblins."

He released both the demon and sword and ran towards the goblins, who continued to spew out the teleportation portal like an infection.

He jumped over the Hong tribesmen landing where the goblins met the Hong soldiers and landed on a goblin with all three of his kagune viciously ripping their limbs off.

The brutal display paused the battles for a moment, enough for the Hong tribesmen to reorganise and join up with their emperor at the front fighting with even more vigour.

His third kagune proved to make his killing efficiency upgrade. Everywhere he went goblins would be mowed down like blades of overgrown grass.

However, none of them was more deadly than his b.a.r.e fists. Each swing of his arms would send dozens into the air to be snatched up by his kagune and slammed back down into the ground.

Suddenly, the roars of more Linthos echoed out from three other tunnels connected to the larger cavern. Then Hong soldiers ran out of the tunnels into the unprotected flanks of the goblins.

The sudden attack threw them off and they became more disorganised from before. With no leadership, they didn't know which direction to attack.

Zhong Yi saw the opportunity and took it. "Push for the portal!"

From the corner of his eye, he saw the little demon weaving in and out of the goblins spinning rapidly. The large sword cut through every goblin in her path, detaching their lower half from their top half.

The Hong tribesmen saw how his majesty didn't interfere with the mysterious stranger, so they treated the little girl as an ally and fought around her.

The Sacred Ghoul Emperor was the first to reach the bottom of the steps towards the portal. Pushing the Spirit energy to his legs, he leapt over the goblins with his powerful legs and landed on top of the portal.

With spirit energy reinforcing his throat, his voice carried itself around the hall and bounced back echoing in the cavern. "Drop your weapons and surrender, or I will make sure each and every one of you die just as bad as.."

He paused as a blood-curdling scream came from a goblin being torn apart slowly by three Linthos.

"..as he did."
