Nikita

Chapter 41 - Samantha

Samantha should have kept her mouth shut, but then that would be against her mission or whatever she was here to do. But she just couldn't, and the more she kept talking, the more Qiao Xi was losing his patience.

He had never been trained to hit a woman, but he wished Carrie was here right now.

Carrie could have made this woman feel bad for being born, which was a fact. She would put her in her place, and nothing would stop her; after all, she was a military woman, and those were never people to mess with.

Carrie was bad, the kind of bad that men were scared of, maybe because she always spoke her mind and did whatever was right no matter the consequences. She was a warrior in every way, and if this woman needed someone to help her close her mouth, then Carrie would have done it for them.

"Alright, fine. Fine. Let's see how long you will hide the precious doctor. Everyone, Nikita, was in the pathology room because he wanted to remove the evidence of the infection he was spreading. Nikita's family is the source of a virus that would only take 6 hours before the victim fell dead. The doctor must answer questions," Samantha insisted, and it wasn't long before the crowd began chanting.

"The doctor must answer our questions!!"

"The doctor must answer our questions!!"

"The doctor must answer our questions!!"

"Alright, that's it, take her out of here and lock them up in the waiting rooms. We don't need any interferences," Qiao Xi said to the guards and members of his squadron.

The government had sent in more people to help with the situation, and right now, with the command of Qiao, they would do their best.

However, even as she was being taken away, Samantha was relentless. She kept talking and talking, shouting, and somehow she had managed to get a link to the intercom service, which she was using to address everyone.

That was going to be hell.

Samantha told them that Nikita's Parents had known of it before they killed themselves to avoid taking the blame for creating the deadliest virus. The worst part of her accusation was when she told everyone that it was Nikita's fault that the ICU wing was in chaos.

She claimed that the man who was just waking up from a much-needed sleep was actually the one behind the commotion that woke him up.

She convinced everyone that Nikita had planted Liam and Renata in the hospital so his plan would be effective. She went on about how Nikita did it, how everything was just according to his plan, and how Nikita single-handedly fumed the ICUs so that the patients there could be used as clinical tests.

She went on to talk about many things that didn't make sense, but since everyone was in distress, they needed someone to take their anger on.

The hospital was on an entire hatred spree for Nikita in no time. Everyone was cursing him for being the worst of the worst. This time he was sure he would never get any recommendations. The world beyond the hospital couldn't believe what was happening even though they were supposed to be the rational ones.

They were also blaming it all on the only living Pavlenko.

He was going to answer for the sins of his parents. The world was gladly going to watch him burn. The harsh reality was about to hit him even harder. The Pavlenko group of companies was under scrutiny.

People didn't want to ȧssociate with someone who could cause the death of so many people. They wanted his blood, and they wanted their company shit. They all didn't care that there were so many lives at stake too.

They were risking many lives, but the economy wouldn't know that. Maybe it was good that he had already handed down custody of all his properties under Carrie's name, and she would be the guardian of a million-dollar empire.

This way, no one would doubt his integrity and his participation in the companies.

He had an advantage in a few other companies outside of the Pavlenko group because his parents were the major shareholders and that no one would ever be able to fire him.

Nikita wanted to know why Samantha would do this, but even he had no idea. The body parts she had taken from Liam's corpse seemed to be what she wanted, but if that was how the virus would spread, where the fuċk had she put them?

Was there a way she would get them out, and if so, how would she when everyone was locked in here? Or maybe it was the delivery vans. Then again, nothing had come out or inside the hospital other than the CDC, and even they came on their helicopter.

The traffic had been so bad they had to rendezvous and got their equipment.

A lot of things didn't add up.

Why would she do this?

From what he had gathered during her speech, her name was Samantha. Such a beautiful name for the goddess of death herself.

If Nikita had been intrigued by her before, right now, he was looking at her like she was the reason for his paRent's death, and maybe she was, or perhaps she was just part of the scheme that had cost him his family.

What was she aiming at getting out of this? There really had to be something important because no one would go to such lengths to defame one of the best doctors and chief of surgeons that the nation had.

What was her mission, if any?

What did this woman want now?

Nikita was going crazy thinking, and all he could think of was that she wanted to ruin her. But what was there to ruin?  His career? His legacy? What was she going to aim at?

He had already lost everything, he literally had nothing to live for, and if death indeed was merciful, then it should have taken him already.

But he was still here, and right now, everyone was looking for him, which was quite stupid, especially with the possibility of the virus claiming everyone. What would they even find in torturing him with the memory of his parents?

He was outraged.

He was sick of everyone blaming him for things he literally had no idea of eight hours ago.

He had had enough of people pissing on him for joy, and he was feeling like killing someone.

Not to mention, Nikita Pavlenko was sleep-deprived, something which made it easier to irritate him.. He was fuċkɨnġ irritable, and he could not think clearly, which is why, even in his state, he set out to meet the angry mob, which was stupidly acting and possibly spreading the virus.
