"You are quite a sharp talker and very attractive too." Lucas said, staring at her. "Almost exotic." He took a better look at her features. "Where are you from. You don't look like you're a local here?" Ruby replied politely. "City X, sir." Lucas asked is there any particular reason for her to be in this city. Ruby explained due to some personal matters, she've moved from City X and was staying by herself in City A for the past five months. "Umm, exactly how old are you as it's not stated in your resume?" She replied. "Twenty-three.. coming Twenty-four, sir." Seeing Lucas looking at her with a boy-ish smile made her heart flutter, she quickly put her head down. "Twenty-four? Good! You're perfect for this job!" He clapped his hands and smiled.

Ruby could only stare in disbelief as another PA walked in behind her.

"You needed me, Boss?" The familiar voice from over-the-phone a moment ago was now coming from a middle-aged, red-headed pregnant lady. "Yes Gwen, meet Ruby. She's gonna be my part-time PA now, she will starts next Monday. Her working hours, during semester break, 10.00am to 4.30pm. When college resume, 3.00pm to 6.30pm for now. Teach her whatever she need to know." It's that ok with you, he asked and Ruby nodded.

...~...~...

Beep! Beep! Beep! Five more minutes! Ruby complained to the noisy alarm clock on her table. Beep! Beep! Beep! The small alarm making noises again and it just won't shut up. She tried to reach the alarm clock, but she failed as her hand could not reach the table. Leaving her no choice, she got up from her bed and walked over to the table to turn it off, thus remembering why she had set the alarm that more earlier than usual.

It is the last day of the week, Friday.. college! Her body felt the panic. With that, she ran to the bathroom and finished her bathroom routine as fast as she can as possible. She cannot be late for school today, there's an assembly on every last day day of the college, starting next week will be her 2nd year college first semester break. Five minutes in the shower was first on her record as she is now drying her long and wavy brown hair. After tying her hair into ponytails, she applied minimum make up enough to compliment her peach dress. She hurried out, locked her front door and flag down a cab to her college.

...~...~...

The next morning, it was a Saturday and the smell of morning dew gently breezes through the window. She open her eyes, the low beeping sound of her phone brings her to the bright calmness of the morning. After staying awake, she check her unread messages, hoping there's one from her mom or Aunt Geneva. To her surprise, it's just a couple of irrelevant words from a number of college friends.

Feeling disappointed, she headed for shower to freshen herself up. Water trickles down her face as she try to wash away the possibility of a boring day. There seemed so many things to do that she did not know where to begin first. Then, she softly hit her own head.. 'Of course, to fill her stomach first.' She giggled.

She grabbed her bag and laptop and left her apartment. "Good-morning!" She greeted her neighbour next door. The same time as she opened her front door, Miss Tammy Lee came out from her apartment too. Miss Tammy glanced politely toward her. "Oh, good-morning, Miss Ruby!" She said civilly. "Going over to the cake shop again." She asked and Ruby nodded. Jake's Bakery was just round the corner and few minutes walk from her apartment. She usually liked to start her mornings with a fresh cup of hot coffee.

She got to Jake's Bakery and ordered a coffee and some sort of pastry looking thing that probably had more calories than a triple layer chocolate cake. And then she took them to her table and pulled out her laptop from her bag. That was pretty much of life. She got coffee and fattening food, and then log into her Twitter account. Luckily this Spark college, she studied for had offered service through chat, twitter and this gave her super easy maintaining her school work. She could sit and type away, munching on her food without worry.

The sad thing is that not everyone was up to the speed, and she still had to spend half her college day on the phone. She stayed at Jake's Bakery for about two hours before she logged out, put her laptop back into her bag. Then she got another cup of coffee and a sliced of Tiramisu cake before headed home to her small apartment.
