Dammit, such bad luck! Ruby turned her head to asked Lucas who's still following them behind. "Lucas, thank for protecting me. Can I have a few minutes alone with him?" Lucas tossed a quick glance at her and replied softly. "Yes of course, but I will stand right here. Just in case."

"Just in case? Of what?" Marcus asked in return. "Do you think I'll hurt her?" Marcus annoyed, staring at him. Lucas just ignored him and said to Ruby. "I will be here, if you need me." Ruby nodded while Marcus was in rage. 'What has she got to do with him. He's merely only her boss while I'm her fiance.. ex-fiance.'

"What are you doing?" Ruby asked. "Ruby..!" He gasped, his whole face showing sadness and regrets. "Everyone was worried sick about you. I missed you too." He said softly hugging her tightly. He looked like he was torn about what to say next. "I really missed you. I wish us to stay together." I gave him a weak smile. Awkward silence. "Listen...." He started. "I don't want to talk about it." I cut him off. He sighed. "Will you stop being so stubborn and listen to what I've to say?" He said irritated.

I was taken back. "Excuse me?" He gave himself a sad face. "Look, Ruby, I....." "You what, Marc? You're sorry? You're so sorry for lying to me? You're so sorry for betraying me? You're what, huh? 6yrs together, aahh.. 2yrs, my fiance! Marcus..." I grumbled. "I hate you! I f.u.c.k.i.n.g hate you Marc. I regret the day I engaged to you." She shrieked ferociously at him unaware that tears were pouring down her delicate cheeks.

The pain was still raw and the memories of his betrayal too vivid. Even after five months of not seeing him, the images of him in bed with her cousin kept haunting her night after night, day in and day out. It was unbearable. And now having him here, standing in front of her was somehow even worse. She roughly wiped the treacherous tears with her hands. That's the last thing she wanted, for him to think that she was weak.

"I don't want you to come and look for me anymore. If there's any decency left in you at all, you'll let me live what is left of my life. Do you hear me? I want nothing more to do with you." She uttered, her face and tone bitter. Who was she kidding, she still loved that man. She loved him so much that it burned holes inside her heart but she could never forgive him. His one betrayal was too great, not even time could help her get over this.

The air instantly froze. "Ruby...." Marcus suddenly called after her. Ruby was about to turned around and leave. "So, no matter what I say now, you're not gonna listen, right..?" He asked for confirmation. She nodded and left, leaving Marcus behind. He had no idea on how to deal with her, but for some reason, he felt she still have feeling for him, he need to win her love back.

"Are you alright?" He asked concernedly because he saw the commotion infront of him. Ruby responded calmly. "Lucas, I'm fine, thank you. Could we go back to the hotel soon?" Lucas looked at her with a questioning gaze but he didn't want to pressure her. "As you wish, princess." He replied and gave his driver a call. It is a fact of life that one is treated differently depending on how much one is worth. Even Ruby, who once had everything at her fingertips, suffered tremendously because of 'one betrayal' and the only sole reason.

Gary drove over speedily and opened the door for them. We arrived back at the hotel. Dusk had fallen when Ruby stepped out of the car. "Thanks for tonight, Lucas. I had a severe headache and needed to rest now." They managed to get out from the bar after Lucas warned Marcus to speak to her some other times, it best to leave her alone for now. Marcus agreed with him, went back to his group of friends inside the bar. Lucas, on the other hand, stay with her afraid something might happen. Gary, their driver who's waiting at a nearby small coffee shop, manage to drive them back.
