Tang Min looked at her with a forlorn gaze, "..Yuri, why don't you just give up? There are still so many other boys except him! Why do you like him particularly?!"

Li Yuri confidently said, "I can't change how I feel and choose whom to like.. So, I'll listen to my heart and do my best to make him like me back!"

Tang Min sneered, "What if you fail?! Will you give up?" Li Yuri glanced at him and softly murmured, "Yeah.."

"Then, let's make a bet! If you lose, you'll give up and date someone else!"

"What if I win?"

"If you win then.." Tang Min's eyes deepened, "I'll admit defeat."

Li Yuri was puzzled, "Why would I want something like that.."

"Alright, let's bet!" Tang Min extended a hand. "If you succeed in getting Lu Jeongshan to like you by a month, you win!"

Li Yuri widened her eyes, "Wait! The time limit is too little! It's unfair!"

Tang Min smirked, "How about if you win this bet, I give you my computer?"

Li Yuri paused when she heard the offer. It was tempting but the task was difficult too! She glanced at his serious face and then at his extended hand.

She hesitated for a while before putting her hand on his, "I'll bet!"

Tang Min's heart was jumping in his c.h.e.s.t. He never expected her to agree but after all, this was what he exactly wanted.

However, there was a different sour feeling in his heart.

If he won, she'll give up.

If she won, she'll get his computer and..

He'll be the one to give up.

It was a fair trade.

"Let's meet here again after a month!"

"We'll see who wins!"

Next day.

Li Yuri was sulking on the chair, her face dejected as she looked at her right hand. 'I shouldn't have agreed.. This cursed hand..'

She regretted agreeing to that foolish and unfair bet! Even the time limit was too little!

"How am I supposed to win his heart in a month's time!!" She cried.

On the other side of the class, Tang Min was also thinking the same. He banged his head against the desk.

This idiotic head! Why did he have to bet on his feelings?! It was already a loss for him! If she won, he'll lose both his computer and his feelings!

"Sh*t, why did I have to do that?!"

The two simultaneous shouts caused the two people to glance at each other.

Li Yuri composed her expressions and smirked confidently as she gave him a thumbs up, while Tang Min also beamed, giving her a thumbs-down!

'You'll surely lose!'

'I'll win!'

Li Yuri's eyes were tingling but she refused to give in! 'Even if I lost the bet, I won't necessarily lose this!'

Tang Min was also adamant on winning. He mouthed. 'You will lose!'

She mouthed back. 'We'll see!'

Just like that, they started another round of staring battle until a series of cough interrupted them.

"What are you two doing?" Mo Xuanji smiled as she stood while crossing her arms. Li Yuri and Tang Min looked away at the same time.

Li Yuri turned to look at Mo Xuanji and found out that Qi Feng had arrived with her.

She raised her brows, "You two came to school together??"

"Yes."

"No!"

The latter smiled awkwardly, "No, I meant, we didn't come to school together but met at the gate!"

Wasn't it the same??

"Oh.." But Li Yuri didn't think much of it, "Right, you went home alone yesterday?"

"No, Brother Yuran walked me home." Mo Xuanji had a merry smile on her face. She took her seat with her usually gentle face.

On the side, Qi Feng couldn't help but think of what happened earlier as she peered at her..

-15 minutes earlier; outside school.

Qi Feng lazily got out of her car with her head bowed, her attention on her phone.

Her lips twitched. [Stop with the smiley face.]

She blocked him and put her phone inside her pocket. Just as she was about to walk ahead, she heard a familiar voice.

"I told you that I won't go there! Stop forcing me!"

She was flabbergasted and rushed ahead because she thought Mo Xuanji was in trouble but the scene that shocked her was..

A young woman who looked similar to Mo Xuanji, was standing beside her. She greeted her when she spotted her.

"Oh, Young Miss Qi! Nice to meet you here!" Mo Jian was a delicate beauty with a gentle temperament, just like Mo Xuanji.

Mo Jian smiled faintly like an older sister as she intimately hooked arms with Mo Xuanji.

"You see, my little sister is a little troublesome! If she finds trouble in class, please do tell me! You can do me a favor as her classmate!"

Qi Feng expressionlessly walked away without acknowledging her words.

Mo Jian wasn't offended so she turned to her sister, who was frozen on the ground. "Xiao Jiji, you must come to the banquet! I have to go to my-"

"Don't touch me!" Mo Xuanji's warm smile had completely vanished, only a pair of cold eyes stared at her as she pushed her away.

Mo Jian smiled amiably and took back her arms while crossing them across her c.h.e.s.t. She looked rather condescending.

"Mo Xuanji, you better know your place. Mom and Dad don't want you to be like this. Be more obedient, will you? Stop hanging around with those group of peasants.."

Qi Feng abruptly stopped in her tracks.

She coldly turned around and asked, "Since Young Lady Mo thinks that Xuanji's friends are peasants; then am I a peasant too?"

Mo Jian never expected her to be still here. Otherwise she'd have stuck with her gentle persona. She quickly tried to explain.

"No, Young Miss Qi, you've misunderstood-"

"If you don't mind, can I take Xuanji away? We're getting late for class." Qi Feng smiled a smile that wasn't yet a smile.

Mo Jian bit her lips and shook her head, "No, why would I mind? It's good that Xiao Jiji has such great friends like you! Haha.."

Qi Feng ignored her and turned to Mo Xuanji, "Let's go."

The latter was stunned but still came to her senses and followed her.

After the two reached a distance away from the parking lot, Mo Xuanji's weary yet cold voice sounded from behind.

"You're laughing at me, aren't you?"

Qi Feng looked back at her in confusion, "What?"

Mo Xuanji's eyes were teary red as she shouted, "You think I'm pathetic, don't you?! But don't think that you're any better! I lied to them but I'm much better off than you! You betrayed Yuri!"

Qi Feng's eyes narrowed slightly, "What are you talking about? I.. betrayed her?"

"Since you know my secret, I don't have anything to hide! Stop thinking that you're better than anyone! In the end, you're just as disgusting!

"You're betraying Yuri by marrying someone she likes! Do you know how she'll feel?!"

Qi Feng finally understood what she was referring to. She clenched her fists, her lips quivering. "You.. don't know anything. So-"

Her words were stone cold.

"You also know nothing!"

Mo Xuanji then laughed cynically, "If you don't want Yuri to find out about the engagement, you better don't speak about me to anyone."
