Chapter 27 - The Calm Before The Storm

Looking over at Amelia, Olivia chuckled as she watched the defeated girl kneel to the ground while streams of tears rolled down her cheeks. Amelia was disheartened and for the first time, she was not filled with determination, but a feeling she had not felt in a long time; it was fear. It was at this moment, holding her brother's lifeless hand in hers, that she feared death while her body quivered in terror.

Carter could not have been brought back with the power of Apollo, for he was weakened from the effects of Olivia's ritual and Olivia had begun to become much stronger than she had been in previous encounters. Amelia realized that she was an obsolete hybrid in comparison to Olivia, weak, like the child she remembered she was and like a child, she fled the bunker before releasing her sibling's deadened body.

Olivia's chuckle gradually evolved into a cackle which turned into a laugh of pure insanity. She removed her hand from above the body of 'The First One's corpse, her own body emitting a valiant glow of color and warmth as she felt the energy and power of 'The First One' coursing through her blood, she had become "Perfect."

The soul transfer ritual had been completed.

"Oh my!" She yelled, "Did I burn him a bit much?"

She began to taunt Amelia at this opportunity that she had achieved perfection, for Olivia felt that she could be matched by no other.

Amelia hid within the nearby foliage, only meters away from the entrance of the bunker, silently sobbing as the death of her brother ricocheted in her mind. Also exiting the bunker, Olivia looked around for Amelia, unable to sense Amelia's concealed presence.

"Come out Amelia! If you get on your knees and beg for mercy, I'll consider killing you painlessly," she declares while giggling.

Amelia chose to still not reveal herself, hitting herself and convincing herself that Carter's death was her own doing.

"No matter, killing you was never my primary objective. I'll begin ę̸̂ṙ̸̠ä̶̜š̵̙i̴̹̅n̴͙͂ģ̴̓ ̴̣̐ę̴̓v̷̬͊e̷̗͘r̵̥͘y̴̤̕t̸̪̊h̸̻̏i̷̲͆n̵͕͘g̵̮͐, starting with this horrid rock!" Olivia exclaimed.

She then seemingly begins to float, flying upward at an unfathomable speed as she pierced the surface of the atmosphere, soaring beyond the distance of not only Earth but the Moon as well. From her hand, Olivia shot a super-charged pillar of lightning, and as it cut through the vacuum of space, it banged against the backside of the Moon, forcing the Moon to plunge toward the Earth with haste.

Meanwhile on Earth, Amelia notices that the sea surrounding the island began to behave differently as if it were in the middle of a storm. Suddenly, however, a voice spoke to Amelia.

"What are you doing?" Xenatra asked.

Emptied of confidence, Amelia responded. "I came here thinking that maybe I stood a chance against Olivia and that maybe I could stop her, but I only ended up getting my brother killed. There's nothing I can do, she's surpassed me, She's become godlike."

"Amelia, you're the only person capable of defeating Olivia. All of the gods and deities have been weakened and are on the verge of expiration, and your friends are powerless. It's your duty as Omnidea's reincarnation."

Amelia then looked down at her bloodied hands. "...you're...you're right Xenatra. What AM I doing? My brother died to help stop Olivia and here I am cowering in fear." Soon, she looked up at the sky, seeing the Moon accelerate towards the planet while she could hear the screams of innocent people all across the world. Even with Olivia being far from the planet, Amelia's eyes could track her, watching as she shot beams of lightning towards the Earth, shattering continents with every strike.

"She doesn't care about anything, she's a monster... just a monster that wants to devour and destroy." As Amelia says this, her fist clenches tighter, anger beginning to build while chilling the surrounding wind before her wings sprouted from her back. She hadn't realized that her earlier clash with Olivia, who had contained the energy of a deity, caused Amelia to unconsciously shovel deeper into Xenatra's power, completely ignoring the damage that Logica had done.

Soon, the girl soared upwards through the atmosphere, nearing Olivia at speeds beyond her previous limits. Catching sight of Amelia, Olivia shot a beam of lightning towards her before Amelia slapped the bolt outwards into space, halving Pluto in the distance.

She too, like Olivia, hovered far from the Earth, facing the evil miss while an icy aura surrounded Amelia's person.

"Oh? So you've finally decided to not coward in fear? Olivia asks.

Answering not, she stared into Olivia's eyes with coldness and hatred.. Amelia had awakened half of Xenatra's power. .
