Chapter 28 - The Scorching Storm, Olivia

Streaks of light danced behind Amelia as she darted towards Olivia's person, acting purely on instinct before unleashing a rushdown of physical blows creating shockwaves by the strike. Amelia's strikes preceded herself, she followed behind shortly after like an afterimage. Olivia effortlessly eluded the strikes altogether before Amelia had even arrived, simply by stepping aside. Due to the momentum she had built up, it became difficult to stop her motion and Amelia began to continue in a linear direction.

The cloth on Amelia's back could be seen ripping as thousands of ice shards began tearing through her skin, shooting as if she were a Quill Pig. The shards dashed to Olivia, following her as she desperately tried to avoid them. Every twist, turn, curve, and bend, they still followed, as if they were alive, heat-seeking almost. Olivia grew agitated, and to escape the shards, released a sudden burst of heat that challenged the warmth of ten supernovas and could be seen from a light-year away. She tried to not only destroy the shards but to eliminate Amelia all in one fell sweep, but Amelia's body had subconsciously become intangible, completely rendering Olivia's attack moot, at least in terms of harming her. Still, it however managed to vaporize the shards.

All within the few seconds it took Olivia to erase the ice, Amelia had managed to stop herself from floating without control; her wings adapted to flying through the airless space, creating an airlike medium to navigate the empty vacuum and, while Olivia took the time to recuperate, Amelia quickly rushed down her once more, except now it was her actual body. Without time to react, Olivia could only feel the artificial, frozen gust behind her before Amelia hurled a fist coated in diamond-hard ice, bursting Olivia's head as a magnificent fountain of liquid shot from the truncated demon.

The headless body's leg kicked away Amelia as it stumbled back, its legs still stepping on the emptiness of space like dirt before a gruesome tearing and crackling could be heard. The body began to split down the middle as it had done once in the past, splitting while Olivia crawled out from its interior, with a newly formed head as if she had never gotten hit.

"I don't ever remember being pushed this far by you in any of our previous encounters." Olivia said. "Within the time between our last and current encounter, you've managed to reach my new level of power."

A blazing flash could only be seen as Olivia had made her way towards Amelia, gripping the girl by her neck so tight, that her nails began to sink into the flesh of Amelia's nape.

Olivia continued to charge forward, dragging Amelia as if she were a mere infant, having both of them plunge into the surface of the sun like a raindrop. The crackling and bubbling sounds of their bloods could be heard as Amelia was continuing to be dragged through the great star with such speeds, struggling to break free of Olivia's grip, but to no avail and soon, rising from the opposite end of the sun before being launched back into the star as easily as one would throw a pebble.

A thick flicker of light bubbles sprouted from the area where Olivia had tossed Amelia; what looked like small torpedos were being shot from the small area, but too bright to see from where Olivia wafted until they had actually gotten closer to her. It was Amelia or so it seemed, and not just one; at least a hundred of them. They were doppelgangers that took Amelia's form but were made of compact ice.

The doppelgangers attempted to barrage Olivia all at once before she drove to shatter each approaching clone by the strike. All that could be seen from a distance was the brilliant eruptions of ice that spat out from the smashed ice bodies that Olivia continued to destroy. She realized that these clones were similar to the frozen shards that Amelia had created earlier in their battle in the fact that Amelia had "given life" to her ice to the point of creating sentient doppelgangers.

Her end was near and the clones quickly began to submerge her as she grew tired, launching physical blows consecutively after countless ice attacks.

At her limit, Olivia bites into the side of her tongue, shedding blood, capturing not only all of the doppelgangers but also Amelia in her field of view before the army of enemies burst into black flames. They screamed in agony as their bodies quickly burned away with the Withering Blaze, which seemed to need a blood sacrifice to summon it as Olivia had done once before.

Space became still, the clones had been incinerated, reduced to nothingness, leaving only the harsh breaths of Olivia who stood seemingly victorious as she smiled over the nonexistence of Amelia.
