The next morning, Soul decided to go and visit Slateport City for the Pokemon Contest. He took off with Noivern as the contest would be held tomorrow, and he didn't want to miss it.

With Noivern, it didn't take long before they reached Slateport City once again as they landed close to a local park.

Soul took out all of his Hoenn Pokemon and took a look at their stats.

For the rest of the day, Soul and his Pokemon trained together as the day went by quickly for them.

The next day, Soul woke up inside a room that you can rent in Pokecenter. He went to take a bath before stretching his body and went to get breakfast.

He have already made enough foods for his Pokemon for the rest of the day, so he wouldn't need to make more meals for them today.

Looking at the timer, he saw that the contest would be starting in the next four hours.

With a final stretch, Soul got out of Pokemon Center and went to a local café, where he ate his breakfast.

There were some private rooms that you could use, and luckily there weren't many here this early, so Soul found one that was vacant and sat there.

Feeling full after finishing his breakfast, Soul paid for the meal and left the café. Having nothing else to do other than wait, Soul began to walk around the city.

While walking, he spotted a few familiar faces that were running through the road. He followed behind as he saw they went inside the Contest Spectacular Hall. He waited for them outside of the building.

After waiting for a while, he saw all four of them coming out of it. Those four were Ash, Brock, May, and Max. He called for them, or more specifically Ash and Brock since they had met before when Ash came back with two new companions.

Hearing both of their name being called, Ash and Brock looked at the direction of where the voice came from and saw a young familiar boy.

Ash: Hello, who are you?

May and Max were also curious as they had never seent his person before, but it seemed like he knew Ash and Brock.

Soul: My name starts with s, and I'm from Pallet Town.

Hearing this, Ash was a little bit confused as he starts to think, but Brock beat him to it as he remembered who he was.

Brock: Hey! You're-

Soul: Shh! Not so loud, or else you know what would happen.

Knowing what he meant, Brock nodded as Ash finally remembered who he was as he almost said it out loud, but was stopped by Brock.

Brock: It's been a while since we last met.

Soul: Yes, where are you guys heading to?

Brock: We were trying to find a local restaurant around here, do you know some places where you can get foods?

Soul: Well… I do know a local café, their foods are actually pretty good. Plus you can use a private room there to eat.

Ash: Sounds good to me. So- I mean, uhh…

Soul: Just call me Sam.

Ash: Right, Sam. Let me introduce you to my new companions and friends. This is May, and this is Max.

May/Max: Hello/Hi!

Soul waved his hand and greeted back as he went to show them the café as there were only two rooms vacant. Max and May sat there as Ash, Brock, and Soul went to buy foods.

Arriving back at the room, Soul sat next to Brock, who sat next to Ash. Taking out his mask, Max became bewildered by what he saw as May thought that she have seen that face somewhere before.

Max: Y-You're… you're the previous champion of Kanto! Soul Winterflame, my idol!

Something clicks in May's head as she now remembered who he was as she slammed on the table.

May: That's right! You're the one, who Max kept talking about!

Soul: Alright, alright. Let's eat, I'm sure Ash and Pikachu have already started.

Looking at Ash's direction, they could that he and Pikachu already started eating their meals, including their Pokemon!

May: Hey, Ash! Leave something for us, will ya? Jeez…

Ash: Sorry May, I was just super hungry.

He said with some food in his mouth. Both May and Max gave him a weird look, which he ignored as all of them started eating their meals.

Brock: Hey, Soul. Isn't it lunchtime for your Pokemon, too?

Soul: I've already fed them, so they won't be hungry for a long time.

After lunch was finished, there was around an hour before the contest would start. So while they waited, all of them talked to each other as it have been a while since they last saw each other.

May: Hey Soul?

Soul: Hm?

May: If I may ask. What are you doing here?

Soul: I'm here to see the Pokemon Contest that would be held today.

Hearing this everyone in the room except for Soul and the Pokemon gave a loud "Ehhh!?"
