Pokemon The Force

Chapter 24 - 1: Two in one!?

Arriving at the lab, Soul opened the front door. Inside there was already Professor Oak's, waiting for him with three different pokeballs.

All three of them contains a different starter for the Kanto region. Charmander the fire-type Pokemon, Squirte the water-type pokemon, and finally, Bulbarsaur the grass-type Pokemon.

Those were all the starter a trainer could get in the Kanto region, other regions have their own starters, too.

Seeing Soul, Professor Oak stopped on what he was doing and went to greet him with a smile.

Oak: Soul! You're finally here. Why took you so long?

Soul: My mom. She wanted to be sure that I have everything, I needed. I swear if my bag could fit a house, she wouldn't hesitate to put it in it.

It was true. His mom was seriously worried about him when he was about to go early on in the morning.

If it wasn't for his dad's help, he didn't think that he would be able to start his journey today. Thinking about how his mom made him check everything over and over again made him shudder.

Oak: Haha! That totally sounds like her. By the way, how's is Anubis and Noibat doing?

Soul: Why don't you check them out yourself?

He said that as he threw a Pokeball up in the air, and Noibat came out of it as Anubis just went out from his shadow.

Looking at both of them, Professor Oak nodded with a smile. He patted both of them on their heads with both of his hands separately.

Oak: You'll have really taken good care of them, I see.

He said that as he put his hands back in the pocket.

Soul: Of course, after all, they're a part of my responsibility as a trainer now. Even if I weren't one, I would still take good care of them.

Professor Oak nodded again, he and Soul walked over to where the Pokeballs were at. Soul who's heart was beating faster and faster out of excitement, begins to sweat.

It's always have given him some sort of mysterious feeling, whenever he got a new Pokemon that would be joining his team. After all, those Pokemons are like his second family.

Oak: So which one will you choose?

He didn't manage to give an answer before a cute little sound from a Pokemon could be heard close to Soul and Professor Oak.

Looking at the source, both of them saw a shiny Eevee was heading their way, no... more precisely, it was heading Soul way.

Soul brain didn't manage to catch on what was happening before he was jumped on by it and fell down to the ground. This moment gave him some sort of deja-vu.

Noibat who saw this was, of course, annoyed that some kind of random Pokemon dared to jump on his master so casually! Seeing Noibat's annoyed face, Soul smiled and said.

Soul: It's fine Noibat, I'm not hurt.

Hearing this it calmed down a bit but was still annoyed at that Eevee. Soul who was now looking at the shiny Eevee with a curious gaze as it did the same with him.

He looked over where the professor stood and asks him.

Soul: Gramps, who is this little fellow? Last time I saw an Eevee was when we've first met. That reminds me, what happened to it?

Professor Oak and Eevee, who heard this made their face turns to a sad expression. Seeing this, Soul was confused and panicked a little bit.

Soul: I-I'm sorry for asking about such a s.e.n.s.i.t.i.v.e question.

Oak: No, you've should probably know about it.

Professor Oak then proceeds to tell him, that the Eevee he saw when he was 6 years old died a few months ago. It had children of its own and this shiny Eevee was one of them but was an outcast of the family after her mother died. She didn't have a good relationship with her family and was mostly alone in the garden.

Hearing this, Soul was both shocked and sad at the same time. He knew that some Pokemons were bound to die someday, too. He had, after all, experienced it before with Noibat's mother.

Noibat who also heard this felt guilty for Eevee.

Soul: Professor, is it possible for me to choose this Eevee as my starter Pokemon?

Hearing this, Professor Oak smiled, as if he knew Soul would say something like that as he always had a soft spot for Pokemons.

Speaking of an outcast…

Oak: You can do that Soul, but I still have something I want you to have.

Hearing this, Soul held a curious gaze. What would the professor give him besides this rare shiny Eevee?

Professor Oak took out the middle Pokeball from where the two others stood and gave it to Soul.

Oak: This one is an outcast, too. Both Eevee and it are pretty good friends since they were in the same situation.

Soul nodded and pressed on the button in front of the Pokeball as a shiny Charmander came out of it.

Seeing her friends, Eevee jumped off Soul body much to his relief. He stood up and looked at how both Pokemons interact with each other. They seemed to be very friendly to each other.

He walked over to them and kneeled. Both Eevee and Charmander stopped on what they were doing and looked over at Soul.

Soul: Hello there, Eevee, Charmander. I wonder if both of you would like to join me and my team to become the strongest. Of course, if you don't want to, I won't force you.

Oak: Are you sure about that Soul?

Soul: I'm sure. I mean I already have 2 Pokemons on my team. Plus I don't want to force them out of their free will.

Professor Oak nodded at this, as both of the Pokemons looked at Soul before looking at each other. They both nodded and looked at Soul with a determined smile.

Seeing this, Soul also smiled and took out two Pokeballs as he said.

Soul: Well then, welcomes to the team.

Eevee: Eevee!

Charmander: Charmander!

Both of them went inside the ball. Soul also did the same with Noibat as Anubis went inside his shadow again.

Soul: I'll guess I got two Pokemon in one package huh, professor?

Oak: Yes you did. Now here's a Pokedex and 6 pokeballs. Good luck on your journey, Soul.

Soul: Thanks, good luck with your researches, too.
