After Soul arrived at Seaform Island, he went to cook foods for his Pokemons, which they liked very much included Shadow. It was a name that Soul came up with for the alter Mewtwo.

When his Pokemon first saw Shadow, they all welcome him warmly as it didn't know what to other than greeting its new teammates.

Soul also gave guidance on how Shadow should train and use its power. He was surprised by its stats when he first saw them.

He was expecting a high stats due to Mewtwo is one of the strongest legendary Pokemon, since it was created, using Mew DNA.

The display of Shadow stats gave Soul different opportunities to train Shadow, but he decided to first improve the control of Shadow control over its power.

The next day, Soul sat off to Viridian City, where he would be fighting against Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni.

Soul decided to sail and bought a room on a cruise to Cinnabar Island, where he would take on Route 21, and go fly through Pallet Town, and then to Viridian City.

After a few days, Soul came back to Cinnabar Island. This time there were not many tourists as when he first visit the place.

He went to Route 21 where he would ride on Lapras as he was challenged by other trainers and Pokemon.

After that, he rode on Noivern and went around Pallet Town, then to Viridian City. It was nice feeling the breeze hitting his face as both of them reached to Viridian City before night time.

Soul went to set up a camp this time and did the usual thing before he went to sleep.

The next morning Soul fed his Pokemons before he went to challenge the gym. When he first arrived there he saw a suspicious person in front of the gate.

???: Huh? What do you want?

He asked in a deep voice, trying to sound scary, Soul just ignored it and said.

Soul: I'm here to challenge the gym leader.

Hearing this, he smiled viciously as he asked Soul if he has collected seven gym badges, which Soul showed him.

He let Soul in as he called for his boss that a challenger is coming. Giovanni, who was smoking got a call.

He took it and asked what his subordinate wanted. When he heard the challenger is coming, he begins to smile as he finally can put out his anger on someone else, and take his/her Pokemon.

Soul arrived at the gym arena, where it was nothing but a flat looking one. No specific terrain nor anything special about it.

The door at the end of the gym arena opened up as Giovanni walked in with a smile. Soul, who saw Giovanni, try not to laugh, as he remembered what he did to his organization.

Luckily he managed to hold it in and didn't change his expression. Giovanni also didn't notice in Soul changed expression and started talking.

Giovanni: I see, so you are the challenger here today. Let me explain the rules to you. We would only use up to five Pokemons and the first party to have all of their Pokemons fainted would lose.

Soul: I understand, let's continue.

Giovanni: Very well, Rhyhorn comes out.

Soul: Go, Alazakam.

Both of them sent out their Pokemons as the battle started with no judge to judge the match. Giovanni went for the first move.

Giovanni: Rhyhorn use Horn Attack!

Rhyhorn quickly sprinted towards Alazakam while holding its pointy horn forward.

Soul: Use Teleport and use Psyshock.

Hearing Soul's command, Alazakam dodged the attack by using Teleport as Rhyhorn missed its target, and hit a wall instead.

Giovanni: Rhyhorn dodge the attack!

But it was too late as Alazakam sent out a critical hit Psyshock and hit Rhyhorn, which resulted in it fainted.

Seeing this, Giovanni did not panic, after all, he still had four Pokemons left. His opponent only has one more Pokemon than him even though it wasn't injured.

Sending out the next Pokemon, Giovanni chose a Persian to battle Alazakam with.

Persian who came out, looked down on Alazakam, as it thought it would just be the same battle as the previous one.

This time Soul was the one, who went for the first move as he said.

Soul: Alazakam uses Psybeam.

Alazakam gathers psychic energy on his spoons as he sent out a powerful beam of psychic.

Giovanni: Persian dodge it and use Power Gem!

Dodging the attack by stepping aside, Persians sent out a beam of its own towards Alazakam.

Soul: Dodge it by Teleport and use Tri Attack.

Alakazam teleported out from the attack and was nowhere to be seen by Giovanni nor Persian.

Suddenly a triangle-shaped attack came from above and hit Persian, while it stood still. Another one of Giovanni Pokemon fainted.

Giovanni was, of course, displeased with this as this kid and his Pokemons was supposed to be his stress reliever.

But now that two of his Pokemons fainted and none managed to land a hit on Alazakam. This is going to be troublesome for someone like him.

Giovanni: Hmph, I must say that your Pokemons are indeed very strong, but the two previous ones can't compare to the rest of my team.

Soul: We see about that.

And with that Giovanni sent his third Pokemon which was a Nidoqueen, as the battle resume.
